There’s no one grievous example, and it’s not something I’m going to huff about canceling my subscription or not buying Paizo products any longer. I love Pathfinder materials and think that, as a whole, the company stands head and shoulders above other RPG crowds. Rather, I want to mention it because I wonder if it’s A) a message that Paizo actually wants to send, and B) because I honestly think whatever this trend is can just be done better. It is a very long post, and for that I apologize! I wanted to be as thorough and articulate as possible, however... Xeose4, I read your entire post and find your argument well stated. I, however, do not agree with the solution you have suggested. I feel sexuality is part of human nature and should not be excluded from Pathfinder. I am a hetero male in my 40s and I still enjoy looking at women, everywhere and at most every opportunity. But with that said, I do not have a problem with men being portrayed in the same manner. So instead of excluding the content and pretending that it does not exist in our world, I would vote to include more men. After all, I prefer my gaming sessions to be uninhibited by conservative values. I will leave you with a few words I found to be true throughout my life, "To deny our own impulses is to deny the very thing that makes us human."
Looking for one or two people interested in world design and module writing. I have done some preliminary mechanical work for the world, but have not found someone to bounce ideas off of yet. If you have a bunch of spare time on your hands and would like to do some creative writing, please send me a PM.
Quote: What sort of game are you interested in? Do you have a character in mind? Pathfinder starting at first level using the core rule system. I was thinking about playing a barbarian who was the son of a lord, yet did not want to take on the responsibility of his position. Quote: Does it have to be a homebrew world or is Golarion something you're interested in? I would prefer a homebrew campaign, but would not rule out Golarion. I did not enjoy my experience with Pathfinder Society. Quote: And what is your play style, which is to say, what do you envision this game to look like? I lean towards the observations of Justin Alexander highlighted by his essay located here.

How do you determine what is dependent on form? Natural armor seems like you would need his scales, possible even the DR and SR are dependent on the thick hide of the dragon.

"...host's location." Is the host's location the possessed person, lifeless body, or both? What about shadow blend on the shadow demon. Does it continue to work while the shadow demon's body is lifeless?
A few Magic Jar questions: If a person who is being possessed by Magic Jar is targeted with a Dispel Magic, does the dispel suppress the possession, end the Magic Jar spell, or do nothing? If the lifeless body that originally cast the Magic Jar is targeted with a Dispel Magic, does the dispel end the Magic Jar spell or do nothing? If a Shadow Demon uses shadow blend and then casts Magic Jar, would the shadow blend continue to function on the lifeless body?
I see about 9 different, ongoing subscription choices. I was considering buying one or two. My main question is: what are the best options for me? I play my own campaign so keep that in mind. Also, I played Pathfinder Society once and disliked the MMO feel of it. Would someone explain to me the differences in subscriptions and the boons for each one? Thank you so much in advance. |
