Liberty's Edge

I reread the item creation and understand now. Thanks.

Liberty's Edge

But a max of +6 based on having to be caster level +3 per +1 special (ie cl18 max)?

Liberty's Edge

Will someone explain the maximum AC bonus for armors and weapons? Also the maximum special abilities for the same items? It appears to me that +5 is max AC and +6 on special abilities. Also, do things like glamored, slick, shadow cost any enhancement points from special ability points?

Liberty's Edge

I could use an abandoned dwarven mine to reclaim that is filled with ogres and a CR9 blue dragon.

This post is about my perception of a trend regarding hypersexualized women in Pathfinder materials. There’s no one grievous example, and it’s not something I’m going to huff about canceling my subscription or not buying Paizo products any longer. I love Pathfinder materials and think that, as a whole, the company stands head and shoulders above other RPG crowds. Rather, I want to mention it because I wonder if it’s A) a message that Paizo actually wants to send, and B) because I honestly think whatever this trend is can just be done better. It is a very long post, and for that I apologize! I wanted to be as thorough and articulate as possible, however...

Xeose4, I read your entire post and find your argument well stated. I, however, do not agree with the solution you have suggested. I feel sexuality is part of human nature and should not be excluded from Pathfinder.

I am a hetero male in my 40s and I still enjoy looking at women, everywhere and at most every opportunity. But with that said, I do not have a problem with men being portrayed in the same manner. So instead of excluding the content and pretending that it does not exist in our world, I would vote to include more men. After all, I prefer my gaming sessions to be uninhibited by conservative values.

I will leave you with a few words I found to be true throughout my life, "To deny our own impulses is to deny the very thing that makes us human."

Those of you who have responded, I have sent return PMs. Thank you for your interest.

Looking for one or two people interested in world design and module writing. I have done some preliminary mechanical work for the world, but have not found someone to bounce ideas off of yet. If you have a bunch of spare time on your hands and would like to do some creative writing, please send me a PM.

Lazslow, I have an idea. If I GMed a singular campaign for you, would you do the same for me?

I PMed you some information.

What sort of game are you interested in? Do you have a character in mind?

Pathfinder starting at first level using the core rule system. I was thinking about playing a barbarian who was the son of a lord, yet did not want to take on the responsibility of his position.

Does it have to be a homebrew world or is Golarion something you're interested in?

I would prefer a homebrew campaign, but would not rule out Golarion. I did not enjoy my experience with Pathfinder Society.

And what is your play style, which is to say, what do you envision this game to look like?

I lean towards the observations of Justin Alexander highlighted by his essay located here.

Liberty's Edge

I am interested in playing a solo campaign through emails or via a forum. I am searching for a GM who would be interested in running a homebrew campaign. I would respond to emails/posts often and quickly. If you are interested, PM me and we can talk about possibly setting something up.

Thanks.

Check those polymorph subschool rules again, MDT; the ones that ravingdork posted the link to.

Quote:

If a polymorph spell is cast on a creature that is smaller than Small or larger than Medium, first adjust its ability scores to one of these two sizes using the following table before applying the bonuses granted by the polymorph spell.

Large: -4 Str; +2 Dex; -2 Con (Medium)
Huge: -8 Str; +4 Dex; -4 Con (Medium)
Gargantuan: -12 Str; +4 Dex; -6 Con (Medium)
Colossal: -16 Str; +4 Dex; -8 Con (Medium)

So, an ancient bronze dragon uses his change shape ability to assume the form of a human. Pre-transformation he has Str 35; Dex 8; Con 25; and hp 324 (24 hit die). Post-transformation, he has Str 23; Dex 12; Con 19; and hp 252 (24 hit die). He loses his flight and natural weapons, but retains his natural armor, his spell-casting, and all supernatural, spell-like, and extraordinary abilities that do not depend on his form.

Note that change shape is identical to polymorph which does not have any ability score adjustments.

Master Arminas

How do you determine what is dependent on form? Natural armor seems like you would need his scales, possible even the DR and SR are dependent on the thick hide of the dragon.

It's right there in the very last line of the spell. If the effect is dispelled from either location, the entire spell effect ends. No more host possession. No more magic jar. You're either dead, or back in your body.

"...host's location." Is the host's location the possessed person, lifeless body, or both?

What about shadow blend on the shadow demon. Does it continue to work while the shadow demon's body is lifeless?

/bump

Thread fell 20 below and off the front page. Hoping for some help.

Liberty's Edge

If a dragon uses one of the shapechanging spells how does that affect the dragons statistics. Does it lose natural armor, strength, constitution, hit points, SR, DR?

I was going to have a dragon encounter my party in human form and wanted to know how to handle its surprise round (if there is one).

Liberty's Edge

A few Magic Jar questions:

If a person who is being possessed by Magic Jar is targeted with a Dispel Magic, does the dispel suppress the possession, end the Magic Jar spell, or do nothing?

If the lifeless body that originally cast the Magic Jar is targeted with a Dispel Magic, does the dispel end the Magic Jar spell or do nothing?

If a Shadow Demon uses shadow blend and then casts Magic Jar, would the shadow blend continue to function on the lifeless body?

Kazarath, any way to contact you via a pm, email, or facebook? I would like to speak with you in private concerning duergar.

Liberty's Edge

I see about 9 different, ongoing subscription choices. I was considering buying one or two. My main question is: what are the best options for me? I play my own campaign so keep that in mind. Also, I played Pathfinder Society once and disliked the MMO feel of it. Would someone explain to me the differences in subscriptions and the boons for each one?

Thank you so much in advance.
