So... if the party is all either undead or Living beings with the Negative Healing ability after Berline's ritual, how are the Shadows in Iron Taviah's cottage supposed to damage them?

Should we change the damage type? or just find another appropriate Creature 4?

Most Shoony live on the Isle of Kortos, the island that Absalom is built upon. Since Ustalav has a coastline on the Inner Sea, it wouldn’t be too unreasonable that a more adventurous shoony might have taken a boat North. There probably wouldn’t be any big shoony settlements in Ustalav though.

Ustalav is far north of Absalom, it has a coast on Lake Encarthan, not the inner sea.

My PC's didn't buy it, but after book two one of their allies did.

Five years later, the structure has finally been rebuilt into a small fortress for those who would stand against the machinations for the Whisperring Way.

So maybe I'm a bad GM, I really hope not, but here goes. I've come across a problem. Between the Cleric and the Shaman in my party, the entire party can airwalk, which removes a lot/all of the situational terrain difficulties in a couple major combats.

While I congratulate them on their ingenuity, it seems like the removal of hazardous terrain is making these battles too easy.

Any suggestions on alternate methods of giving these battles a little more oomph before the enemies die in the second round of combat to a paladin's sneeze?

I don't want to stack the deck too much in the bad guys favor, but I would like to make these battles a little more epic.

I've tried to run this AP a few times before. My first time running was a few weeks after Shadows over Gallowspire came out. The party got most of the way through Harrowstone before the game ended due to problems between players. About 4 months after that, I gave it another try with a new group. I had one session which involved them asking if they could coup de grace the mob of townsfolk and I realized that these guys were probably going to Murder-hobo their way through this Adventure Path without caring about the story, so I stopped running that and switched to a different game.

Fast forward a few years, I put out a call to my friends who would be interested in playing over roll20 and skype (I live in the middle of nowhere) and the result was a game with players from Michigan, Missouri, and Illinois. I've been running for about 8 months and they've just started Book 4.

The Party:

Dorian Ormand: N Male Aasimar Cleric of Pharasma. Encouraged to keep the fact that he was non-human a secret by his parents, he became a cleric after he was sent to live with his Uncle to escape the War Without Rivals. He still hasn't told his friends that he is an Aasimar and he has no idea when a celestial being intermingled with his family tree.

Crusader Zacharius: LG Male Human Paladin of Iomedae. Zach's history is still in flux. He was a part of the 4th Mendevian Crusade and although he knew little of Ustalav, he quickly came to Ravengro for the professor's funeral. He has camaraderie with Dorian as a fellow holy man and spends equal amounts of time befriending Osric and suspecting him of possible wrongdoing due to his parentage.

Osric: NG Dhampir Ninja. Osric grew up a perpetual outsider, his mother was driven crazy by the knowledge that his father became a vampire early in their relationship. Around the age of 12 Osric looked for stability elsewhere. He came back to Ustalav with weapons from a foreign land. Despite the fact that he came clean about his vampire parentage to Zach and Dorian early on, partially to avoid being damaged by Dorian's channels, they still distrust him.

Henric der Flustert: CG Male Human afflicted werewolf (transitioning into a skinchanger/WitchWolf soon) Shaman. Henric was raised in a caravan and was a non-devout worshiper of Desna, preferring to converse with the spirits of nature and his familiar Stern, the owl.

Book 3 Spoiler:
All this changed when the party encountered the Stairs of the Moon and activated the Dusk Moth. His faith in Desna was reignited and he asked to join the Prince's Wolves and be transformed into a Werewolf. [When the character tranforms the character enters GM control, and he will be reincarnated into a Skinchanger soon so that he is not overpowered and can keep control of the character full time].
His friends just found out about his curse when he tranformed in front of them for the first time. How they will react remains to be seen.

Toothscrubber: CN Male Goblin Gunslinger/Rogue. Toothscrubber is on a quest to gain knowledge, which is made difficult since the easiest way to acquire information is from reading. Although he does not worship Lamashtu or the Barghest Hero-gods, he does subscribe to the core goblin beliefs. His illiteracy and hatred of dog/horses has been a problem for his friends on more than one occasion, but they will admit that he brings some much needed firepower to their quest to avenge their mentor's death.
