Xarethi shakes her head. "I doubt that I will be of much help in identifying these things. I know very little about the magical nature of the world."
Can spellcraft be used untrained?
HP 14/14; AC 12/12/10; F+1, R+3, W+3 Init +2, Perception +0
Xarethi takes some of the crossbow bolts to restock her lost ones.
"Anything magical, Ialda? I would aid you, but it seems you are doing well enough on your own."
HP 14/14; AC 12/12/10; F+1, R+3, W+3 Init +2, Perception +0
Hopefully everyone is back from Gencon and refreshed.
HP 14/14; AC 12/12/10; F+1, R+3, W+3 Init +2, Perception +0
Aww.. I want to go. At one point I was very interested in cultural preservation in Ireland, and had an advanced degree plan to study that.
HP 14/14; AC 12/12/10; F+1, R+3, W+3 Init +2, Perception +0
I'm confused (Sorry).

The chef moves to -D-2.
The pirate with the blue halo drops the body he was holding, steps to -C3.
The pirate with the green halo drops the body, moves to -E1.
Xarethi moved to -B-2 (which doesn't go anywhere near -D-2, -C3, or -E1). Unless -D-2 (pink aura) has a reach weapon.
Assuming that Xarethi is safe at -B-2, which I think she is, she'll crossbow Pink Aura (-D-2)

HP 14/14; AC 12/12/10; F+1, R+3, W+3 Init +2, Perception +0
Xarethi moves to -B, -2 and reloads her crossbow.

HP 14/14; AC 12/12/10; F+1, R+3, W+3 Init +2, Perception +0
Xarethi makes ready to fire at the closest savage, but she waits for the others to act first. She doesn't want to call undue attention to herself.
HP 14/14; AC 12/12/10; F+1, R+3, W+3 Init +2, Perception +0
Xarethi also loads her crossbow. She prefers to remain out of reach.
HP 14/14; AC 12/12/10; F+1, R+3, W+3 Init +2, Perception +0
"Whatever they are, lets hope they're not invisible, or insane. This place seems to have an abundance of those things."
Xarethi creeps forward with the others as she puts away the mage armor wand, another charge depleted.
HP 14/14; AC 12/12/10; F+1, R+3, W+3 Init +2, Perception +0
Xarethi accepts the wand, but hopes her green friend isn't very angry with her.
HP 14/14; AC 12/12/10; F+1, R+3, W+3 Init +2, Perception +0
Actually, that might help very much, thank you. It will allow me to focus my magic on offenses (which is what I think we need against these critters).
HP 14/14; AC 12/12/10; F+1, R+3, W+3 Init +2, Perception +0
2 will get her to full health
As soon as the wand had worked its healing, Xarethi came to, her wounds stitching up slowly, and yet surely, as the magic worked its way through her body.
"My thanks, Aeronniell. I have to admit, I feel a little out of my element here. I hope I can do better in the future."

Round 7
Xarethi's body shows some signs of recovery, and she is breathing, but otherwise dead to the world.
Hitpoints: -2/14
HP 14/14; AC 12/12/10; F+1, R+3, W+3 Init +2, Perception +0
Xarethi's unconscious. Not like she's doing anything anyway.
HP 14/14; AC 12/12/10; F+1, R+3, W+3 Init +2, Perception +0
Stabilization
1d20 - 2 ⇒ (12) - 2 = 10
Her body unwilling to give up on life just yet, Xarethi's blood starts to clot. While still bleeding, it is not as severe as it once was, but she still remains unconscious. (Stable? Or is there a bleed effect going on too?)
Hitpoints: -2/14
HP 14/14; AC 12/12/10; F+1, R+3, W+3 Init +2, Perception +0

Xarethi jabs her spear at the evil flying monkey.
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Proving once again how futile she is in combat.
HP 14/14; AC 12/12/10; F+1, R+3, W+3 Init +2, Perception +0
Xarethi moves to J9, and begins to summon the strange aqua-blue lights again, this time they hover above the krenshar in D9, before a torrent of salty seawater crushes down on it.

HP 14/14; AC 12/12/10; F+1, R+3, W+3 Init +2, Perception +0
Xarethi nods. "You're probably right about that. No need for me to bet on the inevitable."
HP 14/14; AC 12/12/10; F+1, R+3, W+3 Init +2, Perception +0
"It's one of those fiends, like the monkeys and the pirates we faced earlier. We're not really well equipped to deal with them." Xarethi says hurriedly as she keeps her defensive stance in case the lizard should change its targets.
HP 14/14; AC 12/12/10; F+1, R+3, W+3 Init +2, Perception +0
Xarethi summons another bright ball of ocean-blue light, releasing it in a small explosion near the lizard's face. Casting flare (DC 14)
HP 14/14; AC 12/12/10; F+1, R+3, W+3 Init +2, Perception +0
Xarethi loads and fires again, taking the time to aim and avoid hitting Gruug.

HP 14/14; AC 12/12/10; F+1, R+3, W+3 Init +2, Perception +0
Back again. Retail sucks this time of year.
Stunned by the feral monstrosity of the pirates, Xarethis freezes in shock, only to watch the rest of the party swab the deck with them.
She releases a ragged breath, even though she herself has not been struck in combat, her magical powers are feeling less than adequate for the job.
HP 14/14; AC 12/12/10; F+1, R+3, W+3 Init +2, Perception +0
Round 1, Init 15
Xarethi releases a pair of magic missiles at M19.

HP 14/14; AC 12/12/10; F+1, R+3, W+3 Init +2, Perception +0
So, anything that adds to saving throws would be good. Or Bear's Endurance spells. :)
HP 14/14; AC 12/12/10; F+1, R+3, W+3 Init +2, Perception +0
Xarethi dives into the water and swims past Baolo.
Swim
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20
HP 14/14; AC 12/12/10; F+1, R+3, W+3 Init +2, Perception +0
The celestial eagle disappears as quickly as it appeared. "I thought that might have done the trick, but I suppose not. Those beasts could only be touched by enchanted weapons." Xarethi states the obvious, as she becomes more wary of her hungry companions.
"Is it a curse or something?"
HP 14/14; AC 12/12/10; F+1, R+3, W+3 Init +2, Perception +0
So, did the celestial eagle just miss completely, or not do any damage because of DR? I'm confused again because there wasn't any mention of it in your descriptive text. :)
HP 14/14; AC 12/12/10; F+1, R+3, W+3 Init +2, Perception +0
The celestial eagle appears in a flash of blue light and charges the remaining monkey. (counts as good damage, if that helps any)

HP 14/14; AC 12/12/10; F+1, R+3, W+3 Init +2, Perception +0
Oh they have DR/magic. I thought they might have had DR/good. Although if that's the case, the magic missiles should have worked too. Sigh. Totally confused.
HP 14/14; AC 12/12/10; F+1, R+3, W+3 Init +2, Perception +0
Xarethi thinks, observing the demon monkeys standing even after taking enough damage to fall, but it only takes a moment before she begins making the gestures to open a gate to the celestial realm in the air above her.
casting summon monster I to summon a celestial eagle. Will arrive on this initiative next round.
HP 14/14; AC 12/12/10; F+1, R+3, W+3 Init +2, Perception +0
Round 1
Xarethi releases 2 magic missiles at the monkey that had charged Left-Ear.
2d4 + 2 ⇒ (1, 3) + 2 = 6
HP 14/14; AC 12/12/10; F+1, R+3, W+3 Init +2, Perception +0
Xarethi after being silent during their entire trip, more intrigued by the waves then by their boat (and possibly swimming part of the way if it was any faster than the rowboat), is disturbed by the disformed animals.
As combat with demonic monkeys ensues, she gathers energy into the palm of her hand, surrounded by glittering green motes like the light reflected from seawater.
HP 14/14; AC 12/12/10; F+1, R+3, W+3 Init +2, Perception +0
"Not sure if the geography would allow us to do that, but it's worth investigating."
HP 14/14; AC 12/12/10; F+1, R+3, W+3 Init +2, Perception +0
"How far away is this place? Maybe we can take a few rowboats? Or a small sailing boat. Not too hard to rent from a fisherman. A few gold pieces will be more than he could get from a day of fishing."
HP 14/14; AC 12/12/10; F+1, R+3, W+3 Init +2, Perception +0
"It's very easy. We won't have any trouble, unless sharkriders attack or something."
HP 14/14; AC 12/12/10; F+1, R+3, W+3 Init +2, Perception +0
"I am Xarethi." She says quietly.
Although frightened by Gruug's appearance, the teachings of Gozreh give everything a chance to prove themselves.
"I'm a... I guess you could call me a sorceress, of the sea."
HP 14/14; AC 12/12/10; F+1, R+3, W+3 Init +2, Perception +0
I've been busy as hell at work... Worked 8 to 6 yesterday. On my feet. Came home and fell asleep... lol. :P
HP 14/14; AC 12/12/10; F+1, R+3, W+3 Init +2, Perception +0
Xarethi accepts a tankard of rum, nursing it slowly as she is still recovering from the emotional blow of the funeral. Fortunately it was held at sea, and she was able to submerge herself in the ocean that lost her tears as she pushed off the funereal boats.
(Assuming a sea-pyre funeral, as that is likely the most ecological sound.)
She glances over at the two newcomers, well-wishers, or whatever they were.
Sense Motive
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
"I think they mean to join up with us, Ialda. Just not certain what words to do it with, I imagine."
HP 14/14; AC 12/12/10; F+1, R+3, W+3 Init +2, Perception +0
Xarethi purchases a masterwork spear and light crossbow, and sells her old weapons. Details on profile.
HP 14/14; AC 12/12/10; F+1, R+3, W+3 Init +2, Perception +0
Xarethi is mostly silent, still taking in the death of her friend Chez and the other companion, Kowaru. She did not know much about Kowaru, but Chez she had spent some time with when the group had gone off on their own, and she had come to like him a great deal. His passing was difficult to accept and she found herself yearning for the warm compassionate embrace of the sea, away from all this that had been going on. A bath, it would have to be then. It was a fairly long one.
HP 14/14; AC 12/12/10; F+1, R+3, W+3 Init +2, Perception +0
Wow... you've all been busy over the past day or so. 40 posts! lol.
HP 14/14; AC 12/12/10; F+1, R+3, W+3 Init +2, Perception +0
Okay, so 3rd level?
- Swim speed 30 ft.
- +1d6 hp
- hydraulic push
- +1 Fort, +1 Ref
- +1 1st level spell per day
- magic missile
- Sense Motive 2 ranks
- Weapon Focus (unarmed strike? touch attack?) Not sure if that's allowed.
HP 14/14; AC 12/12/10; F+1, R+3, W+3 Init +2, Perception +0
Oooh, this is new (at least for me). If that swimming potion is still around, can Xarethi have it?
HP 14/14; AC 12/12/10; F+1, R+3, W+3 Init +2, Perception +0
Xarethi shakes her head, saddened by the loss of their comrades.
"To be honest, I don't know. I haven't really been able to think straight since Chez died. That woman.... vicious. Do you think we could have trusted her even if she did yield completely? She seemed more savage and cruel than willing to parlay."
HP 14/14; AC 12/12/10; F+1, R+3, W+3 Init +2, Perception +0
And me too, with my dice luck. :(
Xarethi is a character designed for underwater combat, so its not really surprising.
HP 14/14; AC 12/12/10; F+1, R+3, W+3 Init +2, Perception +0
(Yay, everyone's rolling 20s, let me try!)
Xarethi chases after Rowyna and tries again to drain the water from her flesh.
Dehydrating Touch
1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 3 + 1 = 13
1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
