So I was looking at some spells. One i loved to cast in older editions of DND.

Continual Flame. It can be heightened. But there is no benefit of it being heightened since it is any object touched with no size restriction. Except it costs more gold to cast the spell heightened. I guess if you want to blow your gold and higher spell level slots.

Is there something I am missing on this spell for it be be heightened or was there something they forgot to add in or changed before the book was printed?

so what i am getting from this is that all you need is the ride feat to bypass the need to use handle an animal.

it doesnt say you have to be riding the animal as a mount. just that you have the feat

So the wording on the totem to me seems like you would get double your rage bonus as damage when not raging as well.

Example it would be

So at level 1 when not raging you would get +4 damage and -1 Ac and -1 Attack

And when raging you get +6 damage and - 2 ac and -1 Attack.

Or when not Raging you have -1 ac and -1 attack and gain no bonus.

then when raging you have +4 damage -2 ac and -1 attack

So the Totem is kinda awkward, First its benefit is to use larger weapons but the books says nothing about the benefits of larger weapons. Second it says you can use Larger weapons when NOT Raging. But only give you a benefit while raging, Unless you always have a the damage boost even when not raging. IE you get double the rage damage bonus when not raging as well. then you get the double when raging and also get the rage bonus.

So point is there is 0 benefit to using a larger weapon while not raging only penalties. They are pretty crappy at that as well.

Edit- So at level 1 when not raging you would get +4 damage and -1 Ac and -1 Attack

And when raging you get +6 damage and - 2 ac and -1 Attack.

Or when not Raging you have -1 ac and -1 attack and gain no bonus.

then when raging you have +4 damage -2 ac and -1 attack.

It doesn't say a large-sized weapon, it says a weapon built for a large creature. In the bestiary, these seem to all have a multiple of the weapon's damage dice. (2d12, 4d12, for instance).
That is because of the weapon potency, not the size.

What about the stone giants weapon. It isnt magical and doesnt have a potency but its damage is 2d10.
