Not sure where to ask this so sorry about hijacking this thread. Does anyone know where I can find information on a massive hole across the mountain range just East of absolom? Saw it in a low res map and it has piqued my curiosity.

Like others have said it does not work like that. The Witchguard archetype will add fireball to his spell list if he chooses elements as his patrons. Another alternative would be to simply use magic items. A necklace of fireballs starts out at 1,650 gp. If he is willing to invest in UMD he could also use wands of fireball.

Either solution is better than dipping 5 levels in cleric for a 5d6 fireball. Also keep in mind as a cleric you only get a single domain spell, and cannot use your regular spells for domain spells unless it is also on the cleric spell list, which fireball is not.

The 3 level dip into cleric was not for the fireball, that was just something I was preparing to have to deal with as GM, but realizing I was looking at spell level not class level makes that irrelevant anyways. Thanks for the help though, this will certainly help me to become a better GM in the future (this is my first campaign and all my players are new as well)

Ok, thanks all, my thought was that both cleric and ranger were “caster” classes and was wondering if they stacked for “caster level”. Grateful for the quick responses!

I have a player who, for reasons I won’t go in to, is considering taking 3 levels in cleric (fire domain). This will give her access to the fireball spell. 1d6 points of damage per caster level. Is this 3d6 as a level 3 cleric or maxed at 10d6 for her 9 additional levels as a ranger?

In the pathfinder campaign setting, The First World Realm of the Fey by James L. Sutter we see this text:

“Amenorian Steppe: The First World has many prairies and grasslands, yet the Amenorian Steppe is legendary for its skilled riders and large-scale hunts. Generally organized by race, the various resident clans maintain independent fortresses across the plain, hunting the glowing yamenhulks for their armor scales and magical eyes that can be turned into powerful weapons and items. While a wide range of gnomes and fey ride an even greater assortment of mounts, perhaps the strangest of these groups is the Longsign Guild, a group of elves and lashunta (Pathfinder Campaign Setting: Inner Sea Bestiary 25) atop saurian mounts, who claim that their interest is less in the wealth of the yamenhulks than in the mysterious magic that animates them.”

My question is what is a yamenhulk? I can find no reference to this creature anywhere except for here, does anyone have a more in depth description or reference for this creature? This is the first time I have noticed completely ignored lore, I can always homebrew my own creation in its place, but I have little experience in creating custom monsters.
