Hey guys, I've got a bit of bad news. My computer is having issues and it's going to take some time to sort it out. My posting over the next week or so is going to be stunted since I will only have access at work, and I've got a good bit of stuff to slog through. I'm still committed to the game, but I won't be able to post nearly as much.

"Well, I think if we wear rain gear when Irnk drinks, we might be okay. I can be ready to leave in less than an hour, but I think it's going to take longer than that to actually go." Wanwa'lasse takes the rest of the afternoon to gather her belongings from her room in the Rusty Dragon.

It's not Irnk, but Wanwa'lasse that began to snicker. "So I guess we're all doing 'that thing' and going with you to Brinewall." The half-elf is grinning from ear to ear. For the first time since she was brought to Sandpoint, she's just enjoying the moment.

Wanwa'lasse looks from Irnk, to Sienna and Hijiro, and back wondering what the goblin is trying to say. Then it hits her like a sack of bricks. An oh-I-see-what-you're-saying expression replaces the one of puzzlement, before she tries to hide her amusement behind a mask of indifference. And like Irnk, probably not much success in that department.

"Until then we'd be best served by assuming that it isn't ours. We can let Ameiko know about the compartment, but we shouldn't be prying into things that are none of our business. For all we know it's something very personal to her family and she would rather that be a secret."

"Offal?" Wanwa'lasse makes a face that leaves little room for doubt about what she thought of Irnk's request. "I know you haven't been here, but trust me when I say that here there be better things than what just passed through a dragon's bowels." Turning to whoever was manning the bar, she says, "Some curried salmon for Irnk here and me as well. Along with some mead if you've got it."

Irnk: Irnk hears a snort of laughter coming from Wanwa'lasse.
"Oh, I meant call me Leaf. I can hear the difference between 'Lief' and 'Leaf.' I'm afraid I don't know what it is either, but he sounds like he was a good man... and a good teacher."

And then we have the Goblin-a-phobe with the goblin. :D Seriously that was some good writing. I just hope I'm up to your standards.

Irnk: Wanwa'lasse just sits in silence. Her eyes unable to meet Irnk's, but just before he decides to go to sleep, she rolls up her sleeve, revealing skin criss-crossed by dozens, if not hundreds, of thin, white, ragged scars.
"How many, do you think, lost a-all they knew? The first thing I-I r-r-remember is pain. Have y-you ever felt your skin being sliced open again, and again, and again? H-have y-y-you ever lain in a pool of you blood and your parents blood as a bunch of goblins sang about all of- all of the horrible things they were going to do to you?" Tears ran down her face, which had a few thin scars as well. Her jaw clenches as she glares at Irnk. "Tell me, have you ever woke up screaming because you thought a dozen half-elves were trying to flay you alive?" She sits there for a moment, letting the echos of her last, shouted words die before continuing in almost a whisper. "You may want a better life for those bastards, but you have ask if they want it." she rolls her sleeve back down before curling up in a ball with her back to the stone wall of the cavern and her eyes glaring at a spot a few feet from the toes of her boots.

Irnk: "Okay, then." Wanwa'lasse finds a dry patch and sits, but something about the way she sits gives away she's not at ease with Irnk. Maybe it was the way her legs tensed like a cat's that is ready to pounce.
"Why are you helping goblins then? I remember the raids a few years ago. I remember how they treated each other."

Heh, I have to see that. I'm not too worried about Irnk, as a matter of fact, Wanwa'lasse growing more comfortable with him could be a good character building exercise. As for oxymoronish characters, my character in a WotW campaign has been described as "innocently evil." She's hugged the necromancer, skipped across a courtyard in a lightning storm, and broken one of the good guys with naught but her wits and a high bluff score. Most of my other characters have some issue that comes out over time. My favorite though is the greatsword wielding rogue in a CoT campaign on the boards here.

Poor Irnk. I promise that if Wanwa'lasse bites it, I'll roll a character that won't give you a second thought.
"B-b-b-but what ab-b-b-bout th-th-the Lickt-t-t-toads? Isn't he wuh-wuh-wuh-one of th-th-them?" From the looks of things, she's more likely to try and bolt than fight. She doesn't relax though, and her blade is still up even though the half-elf's shaking is plain to see in the way the tip moves.

"G-g-g-g-GOBLIN!" Wanwa'lasse manages to finally come out of the fear induced paralysis and trips over her feet as she backpedals away and drops her bow. Her back presses against the stone wall and her heels dig into the floor trying to get her as far from Irnk as possible as she fumbles with the shortsword at her side before finally pulling it free. "D-d-d-don't c-c-c-c-come an-any c-c-c-c-closer"

Same as before. Attack S3 using bow as a quarterstaff. The nimble half-elf manages to dodge the strikes of the skeletons once more and tries to hit one of the things again with her improvised quarterstaff. Attack: 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (13) + 3 - 4 = 12
