Drop common entirely

Other stuff...

This is only one potential view of the Common language. While it is not wrong, it is a bit narrow minded in my opinion.

The other main option (that I can think of) is that the Common language was part of some massive empire that conquered the known world and spread its culture (including its language) everywhere. Some time later it collapsed, but its mark is still living through the use of the language just about everywhere.

So, in this case, the language is actually a full fledged language of expressing most things. Latin would probably be the historical example of this. Although, unlike your example, it was opposite: Latin was used in scientific/official writings, but not to buy a carpet!

And, I just want to point out that in Golarion, this is the case. Common is actually Taldane that spread during their massive empire and remained after it shattered. And, unlike Latin, they are still around and using it as a national language! So, the language can express anything that modern people need it to!

Anyway, as far as the cost question goes, I'm in favor of: Linguistic Array +1, Standard Array 0, Xenophobic Array -1. While this would allow for minmaxing on a "useless" stat to some characters, I feel it is up to the DM to consider it and shoot it down if he doesn't like it.

Cheers!

At least I know I'm not crazy, but it now looks like I can get all the benefits of full plate or half plate and wear medium armor:

Breast Plate +6
Scale Arms & Leggings +2
Set Bonus +1
Total: +9

or the equivalent of half plate:

Breast Plate +6
Studded Leather Arms and Leggings +1
Set Bonus +1
Total: +8

I do like the idea of piecemeal armor, and I'm not trying to crunch numbers, just wondering if this was intended or even considered...

I don't think that works.

Agile Plate / Plate are only considered Medium Armor when worn alone (when they are a breastplate). If you have other pieces, they are considered Heavy Armor. If you are wearing one piece of heavy armor, you take the penalties if you are not proficient in their use. So, not much is gained in that regard.

Not sure if I am reading the rules from Ultimate Combat correctly, but it seems that you can get superior AC from piecemeal armor than from a full suit of plate. Am I reading this correctly? It's not making a whole lot of sense to me.

I was originally thinking you were wrong, but after digging through the rules a bit, I believe you are correct.

If I am reading this correctly, the highest armor you can get through Piecemeal armor is +10, one higher than Full Plate.

Arms: Tatami-Do +1
Legs: O-Yoroi +2
Torso: Plate +6
Set: Bonus +1
Total: +10

While a Stone Chest has a +8 bonus to armor, it does not add the armor bonus of other pieces: "If worn with other armor pieces, this torso armor piece gains no armor bonus from the other armor pieces, and all of the added hindrances."

Additionally, the above pieces would have a max dex bonus of +2 (versus Full Plate's +1).

So, yea, I think you could get two AC higher.

I have a few quick questions about the Spellstrike ability of the Magus. My understanding is that you, basically, get a melee attack to instead of the free touch attack when you cast the spell. However, my question comes from missing an attack or touch spells with multiple charges.

Scenario #1:
If you have a held charge, through a miss last turn or move/cast action, how do you discharge it? Is it the first attack that hits or do you still have to use a standard "touch action" (with the option of using a melee attack)?

Scenario #2:
I think this may be answered by the previous scenario, but I'll ask anyway. In the case of touch spells that have multiple charges (e.g., Frostbite), can you discharge multiple per turn?

I apologize if this question has been asked/answered elsewhere. I did a quick search and didn't see anything that seemed to answer this (a lot seemed to be during the playtest). Thanks!

You can take both and use both with a magus... but you cannot use both at the same time. They both require a swift action to "turn on" and you only get one swift action so you have to pick one before each attack... assuming you still have arcane pool points.

I will probably take Arcane Strike and save my pool points for other things like extra spells unless the weapon I have in hand needs one of the special abilities or extra enhancement to get through damage reduction.

The Arcane Pool ability lasts 1 minute. Arcane Strike ability must be activated each turn. So, couldn't you activate Arcane Pool on round 1 and then Arcane Strike for the remaining rounds to get both bonuses?
