Female Aasimar (Chelaxian, Mwangi) Shaman (Speaker for the Past) 1

I can get behind the alternate elite array, since it avoids having a dump stat. I need to look up this background skills rule.

I also am not a fan of 15 point buys. I feel that they encourage dump stats. 20 point buys give a little breathing room to still be useful and better rounded

Niles' reminder that we need to be good at things outside of combat got me thinking that it would be a good idea have good skill points. Cleric Int+2 is crazy low, so I started looking for divine options with more skills. Which lead me to the Shaman class, where I realized that the Speaker of the Past archetype basically allows one to be a priest of a city, which seemed appropriate for this campaign.

I will admit that the Mgwani connection was impart because I think there is a connection between Chelax and places thousands of miles away and it was fun to think that through.

Vivian had been a little tongue tied earlier, but she finally found her voice. "My name is Vivian Darr. It's a pleasure to meet you."

Vivian didn't care much for this new technology, but she wasn't about to mention that to these powerful men.

Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18

Vivian points out another potential problem to Nishoh. "That woman there looks like she may be trouble."

"You handled him well. I'm glad you are with me, Nishoh. I don't like confrontation."

It's just new. Or maybe I like it because it is testing skills I'm good at. :-)

Goal 3

Perception (Observe the dissidents): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27

Having got a feel for the crowd, Vivian starts to spot potential threats and points them out to her pistol-wielding buddy.

I was doing goal 2, and I read it as Aurlia read it.

Sounds good to me.

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30 "I sense hostility, Captain."

Vivian wanders through the crowd looking for threats. The way people moved within a crowd can reveal so much of their thoughts and feelings. Moreover, crowds and a movement and a life to them beyond their individual members.

"I have some ability to put people to sleep. A buddy system seems like a wise choice. Perhaps we should have the constables divide the crowd into sections? That would help reduce the load and give us extra eyes and ears."

Love it!

Vivian was feeling more than a little overwhelmed. Expert on the Old Faith? Deadly force?

It all seems like so much. She hardly felt qualified. To conceal her discomfort, Vivian reads the documents they have provided carefully -- once, twice, thrice. Her dark fingers trace the edges of the papers. Slowly, she brought her anxiety under control. This assignment was not so terribly different from the community outreach which she both enjoyed and excelled.

I have lived from hundreds of years. I witnessed the most important event in history. I am heir to a goddess. I can do this.

She listens to the questions and then answers to her new squad-mates questions before posing her own. "Can you tell us more about the check-point?" Vivian inquires with her soft almost musical voice.

"Would it be sensible to use the area before the checkpoint as part of our canvasing of the crowd. Working with the police, we could break the crowd into sections and do individual bag checks and threat assessment, while also handing out confetti."

Basically, she is suggesting the dreaded TSA lines.

In combat: Vivian will buff, heal, and provide general support. As she gets more hexes she can provide some debuffs too.

Out of Combat: Healing, social, perception. Vivian is very intuitive.
