"Is any of your merchandise left?", Visruþ ventures.
"Either way, you and your fellow survivors may need to join our group."
"Safety in numbers and all that."
"If our employer has no objections, of course."
Visruþ approaches Pali and says "Hello. My name is Visruþ and these are some of my companions: Inil, Maxim, Kelisa, and Throg." Glossing over Hanz only because he's still back at our caravan "Throg, I hasten to add, is an ally, and not an enemy, unlike the Hobgoblins who attacked you."
"We can see for ourselves what happened. More or less."
"How long ago was this attack?"
"And is your older, um ... friend ... always like that?
"We were sent by Braendar StoneShield to get some horses."
"Shouldn't be any problems getting the best horses, should there?" diplomacy:1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29 . . I could charm the birds out of their trees that way!
"Fair enough. I'm Visruþ. I'm a tiefling if anyone hadn't noticed", he says with a wink.
"Came from Cheliax. Can't stand the place. Too rigid and stodgy."
"I escaped, and have been wandering around since then."
"I'm pretty good with light weapons, and can use some spells as well."
"Don't know too many spells, but I don't need a spell book either."
"Oh, yes. I'm good with both diplomacy and languages."
Sorry I'm a tad late. I've been out and about on one thing or another for the past couple of days.
A male tiefling walks in soon after Braendar starts speaking.
Wearing studded leather armour, he carries a rapier, light flail, light crossbow, and a backpack.
He also looks just like a youthful hale half-elf.
Well, apart from the caprine amber eyes.
Or the alabaster-white skin, royal purple hair, or vestigial cobalt blue horns.
Oh, and the tail, of course.
"Sounds like a pretty straight forward mission."
"My name is Visruþ, by the way."
"I'm handy with light blades and a few spells."
His name is pronounced "viz-RUHTH", by the way
I, the player also like using obscure letters, like thorn (þ).
Just because.
I have more or less finished the profile for Visruþ. I've got a bio done.
Let me know if I should fix anything up.
Thanks!
biography:
Visruþ is the tiefling son of names Chelish slaves owned by an unhinged Chelish noblewoman, Vonæ. She continued her mother's obsession is to breed compliant and formidable Asmodean servants. Tieflings are the usual results, if any. Visruþ is one of the few results of Vonæ's experiments to survive past infancy.
Vonæ typically subjects her test subjects innumerable vial experiments. Most of which involved exposure to unspeakable substances made out of outsiders. Including daemons, demons, devils and div. Visruþ's own biological parents are doubtless long dead. Few of Vonæ's test subjects survive for long.
Vonæ was well pleased with Visruþ, and was certain that Visruþ would make excellent Hellknight material. Especially if she could breed more like him. However, as Visruþ matured, he became a profound disappointment to Vonæ. While he is tough, strong, nimble, resourceful, and has arcane talents, his mind is the antithesis of Hellknights: he is mercurial, impulsive, and unruly. While he does have a strong sense of loyalty, is limited to individuals, not organizations.
The past few years she forced Visruþ into forced labour, to break his will and make him compliant. Visruþ told Vonæ she had finally broken his will. His martial and arcane training began. Visruþ, had not been broken, however. He was only able to convince Vonæ otherwise because he told her what she wanted to hear.
After rigorous training, which he excelled in, Visruþ made clear his true intentions. While Vonæ was entertaining guests with the intention of showcasing Visruþ as Hellknight breeding material, Visruþ slipped away. And in the process, he set fire to Vonæ's lab. Specifically to destroy all the meticulous records of the experiments conducted by Vonæ and her mother before her. By time Vonæ realized what had happened, Visruþ was well away, on a stolen horse, heading straight for Andoran.
While the Andoren authorities were welcoming to Visruþ, and his information about Chelish spy networks, the people in Andoran were less than welcoming. While not maltreated, Visruþ did tire of Andoren mistrust and took to wandering. He eventually found his way to Colewin Binderbook. Despite vastly different mind-sets, or perhaps because of them, Colewin and Visruþ got along quite well. Visruþ is quite loyal to Colewin, simply because the Paladin treats him well.

Maybe we should compare notes on what magic items we have on offer.
Guughwa seems to want to barter for stuff.
I don't think cash holds her interest.
What other magic items or trinkets does everyone else have to offer?
The only valuable item Visruþ has is that +1 chain shirt.
I'd be willing to trade that if necessary.
In a very hot and humid environment, armour might be detrimental anyway.
She might accept something other than just a magic weapon or armour.
