Viridian stares in shock as the ship sinks below the waves, having seen Aria on the deck she is under no illusions as to what has happened, the swirling vortex created by the sunken ship is near impossible to escape.
Her eyes move from the ship to the cliff and rest on Sasha, the line of her mouth hardening and a flash of anger in her eyes. This woman's antics and irresponsibility has caused the death of a friend, there's no room for mistrust when everyone needs to pull together to survive. Chances are she would cause more deaths down the line, as the current battle above the waves suggests.
I'm hoping 110 feet is enough to reach up to the cliff at this point. If not then Viri will abandon the boat and run to shore to get closer. If she's close enough then she'll stay where she is to cast her spells.
For the second time that day she begins to chant an incantation and her fingers flare with multi-hued lights, rushing towards Sasha standing high above.
Magic Missle - 1d4+1 = 4+1 = 5 points of damage
I really enjoyed the synchronous sessions, and it'd be a shame to give up on either the current characters or the current campaign.
Viri is gonna keep on keepin on till she can get Aria with the boat.
That's one of the things that I love about having Scott as a DM, he's willing to allow creative use of spells and abilities. It certainly makes things far more enjoyable for me!
Also I agree Andy! You're creativity is inspiring :) Never stop!
Plans are still the same.
Viri is heading to the life boat as fast as she possibly can, calling over her shoulder to Aria, I've got another way, hold on as long as you can then head towards me if I don't make it back in time.
Initiative roll 19+0=19
I can't swim, I can't climb, and I sure as hell can't jump. she mutters to herself and then lurches to one side as the boom comes crashing down. Well no chance for jumping now. Viri downs the potion of water walking and looks wildly about for the life boat, (Perception roll 9+1=10 if needed) her plan being to run over to it and push it back towards the ship so Aria can get in.
Maybe you can carry it out after getting your shield Dolph? You can't really swim with it, but with your potion of water breathing you should be able to walk along the bottom of the ocean to the shore.
She's not a greedy critter, but she is a curious one, and not being able to get into that box is eating at her.
Well the block and tackle is rather heavy, it might do the trick, but we don't really have anything like a prybar, I don't think the shovels are strong enough for that. I mean, at least the pulley equipment is metal.
Once Dolph enters the room Viri will hand him a water breathing potion.
Here, this will let you breathe under water, in case you don't get free in time after you pull your shield free.
If the chest is light enough to lift with Mage hand Viri will do that, otherwise she will request Dolph to break the lock.
I'll presume my perception check of the previous room didn't turn up anything else then. And indeed, feel free to presume me anywhere you need to to keep things on track!
Viri collects what she can from the room quickly and spends a moment looking at the footlocker. She attempts to lift it to judge it's weight, and also examines the lock to see how hard it would be to break the chest open.
Dolph! Come in here! I found something that might make you feel a little better about pulling that shield out. Also, I may need your muscle for a moment.
Viri intends on giving Dolph the water breathing potion so if he can't get away from the ship fast enough, he'll at least be able to breathe until he can get himself out.
Sounds good to me oh DM. Heh, when I get my mule back we can store it on her!
No need to apologize Lord Targbanger, this isn't exactly an ideal situation.
Viri looks through the stash of goods, piling as much as she can onto one of the canvas sheets to tie into a bundle with a length of rope. She will continue to make as many bundles as are needed to clear the room, and will then do a more thorough search.
Perception check 15 + 1 = 16
Aria? Can you tell how he died? The Scorpions were on the other side of the door..something doesn't seem right to me.
Viri examines the door to the supply room and grunts, realizing she doesn't have the skills necessary to open the door, though she's fairly certain one of her companions does. She might be able to help though, so she sets herself to attempt to aid breaking down the door.
Aid another str check. 13-2=11
We need to be careful here, if your shield is holding the ship up, this wedged door might be doing some of the same. The quicker we're out of here the better.
Initiative roll = 8
Viridian squares off against one of the scorpions, flexing her fingers in anticipation.
Her intent is to cast magic missile at the nearest of the scorpions.
Magic missile damage 1d4+1 = 4+1 = 5
Veri is heading towards the sound of the claws with the intention of opening a very large can of whoopass on them. (she has already cast mage armor on herself)
She's going to ignore the boat then and continue with the plan to head down.
Viri casts mage hand on the cloth to retrieve it then ties one end to the life boat and uses the spell to tie the other end to a rock on the shore If the DM allows that use of the spell, otherwise she'll tie it to the boat by hand.
Once that task is complete she casts Mage armor on herself. [b]I'll take care of the store room![/ooc] She heads down to the storeroom and prepares to cast another spell once she's kicked open the door.
heh sorry I was so late in posting, was having some trouble trying to figure out what I was going to do.
Lord Targbanger, once you've swung down I'll follow. Don't worry about trying to get the rope to me, I know a little trick that can help.
Once Dolph and Aria have reached the deck Viri will cast Mage Hand on the cloth to bring it to her and then swing down to the deck as well.
Acro Check 1D20 + 0 = 17 + 0 = 17
A great idea! she says watching the woman dragging things back from the ship. Jenny might even still be there. Following Aria's good example Viri runs down the beach towards the beached ship to help rescue what she can.
Heh I just assumed he thought he was famous :)
Oh by the way guys, you can create multiple message board aliases by going into 'my account'. It's on the left hand side four boxes down. That's if you want to create separate ones ;)
Viri turns her attention towards Dolph, her mouth twitching at the corner as if trying not to giggle.
Jenny is my mule, and I will happily keep an eye out for your shield. After all it's as easy to search for two things as it is for one.
She then switches to Dwarvish.
I don't believe green hair is common among humans, in fact I've never met another human with hair like mine. My name is Viridian, I am pleased to be at your service Lord Targbanger.
She gives a little bow of her head and then moves towards the pile of gear, hoping to find her spear, and keeping an eye out for the Targbanger shield. All in all, she seems remarkably calm for such a young girl.
Perception check in case you need it for looking through the stuff. 1d20 + 1 = (16) + 1 = 17
Viridian sits up and rubs her hands over her face to try to gain some semblance of awareness. Her current surroundings made no sense to her, hadn't she just been aboard that big floating thing? There used to be water all around her, now she was on land and she just couldn't understand the transition. She looked down at her bedraggled self and shook her head. Her green hair was matted with sand and seawater, given the colour it was hard to tell but there might have been seaweed in it as well.
I seem to be okay.. she thought to herself.
JENNY! Sudden realization dawned, if she wasn't on the ship, and if there were others on this beach with her, then the ship probably crashed. If the ship had crashed, then Jenny was in danger and needed to be found.
Viri stood quickly and began to look around in haste, calling Jenny's name loudly.
Yah, I got mine on the 22nd. Of course, I live in an apartment so I have one of those lovely little boxes for my mail, and the mail guy apparently can't read well enough to understand that the "DO NOT BEND" message that appears very prominently on the front of the package actually means "DO NOT MUTILATE THIS TO SHOVE IT INTO A BOX THAT IT WAY TO SMALL FOR IT!"
Thankfully the book was not damaged.
Yay #3!
I would love one. My current GM has an old 2nd ed screen which helps with absolutely nothing but hiding his notes and getting knocked over.
I'll be running this next campaign and having my own screen will be very helpful. I love the idea of dry erase on the backside, but even just having pathfinder specific info with some basic rules for quick look up (Tripping and disarming are always good to have on hand).

Sadly I have to wait until November/December to run my game (first time DMing too...man did Paizo ever make it easy for newbs with this path) as we're still in the middle of shackled city and we don't want to break stride until our DM needs a break.
I'm chomping at the bit to get this going though!
One of the best ways to have a town/peoples lodge themselves in a PC's heart is to give them something or someone to take care of. If there's a person there who needs to be looked out after occasionally (overdoing it could be more annoying than helpful) Like the now single mom who's husband got slaughtered, or a young orphan who now hero worships one of the PC's.
Have someone come up and ask the PC's to sponsor a new charity in their names to help with whatever (victim families of the goblin raid)
In one game we were given shares in the theater for helping out with something, which meant we were constantly going back to town to collect our money from it, and the theater owner was constantly writing plays of our exploits.
I have a hard time finding decent unpainted metal figs these days, so I'm stuck paying for the pre-painted random bits, which I don't find nearly as fun.
Also having access to a horde of goblin critters would be great since we're currently using the pieces from the LoTR Risk game for our easier encounter monsters. It get's confusing and isn't quite as much fun.
