Viridi's confusion fell away to simple shock at the overwhelming forces on display. She was used to colossal trees, but colossal trees that got up and walked were another thing entirely. The appearance of the horse-person and savage beings was far less of a spectacle, but unfortunately they actually noticed them. Ripple's question about them was a good one, but Viridi was on edge. She grips her spear tightly as she studies each of the newcomers. Assess: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 1) = 7

Viri's eyes go wide when the woman announces not only her name but where she's from, along with all the others that had fought against the undead soldiers. She takes a step closer to Yuri out of nervousness. "Planeswalkers." She says the word out loud, turning it over in her mind as she gets used to the concept that describes what's happened between Yuri and her. The short male was right though; planeswalking involved way more falling than walking. "The tower is a good place to start what?"

Viridi shakes her head at the question, looking over to Yuri to see if she was going to speak to the pair of newcomers. She was nearly overwhelmed herself; this battle was nothing like the skirmishes she'd experienced back on Naya.

Directly Engage: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (6, 5) + 2 = 13 Viridi spins her spear in her hand in anticipation of seeing the enemies bypass the wall. As soon as one moves around the barricade, she sends the spinning weapon scything through the air at it! Resist blows, create an opportunity As soon as it strikes, she calls the spear back with her telekinesis.

Viridi spins her spear with a flourish, then holds it ready against anything that might breach the wall erected by the vine person. She looks to confirm that Yuri is close by, before answering, "If you're defending these people, then you're not normal. And I'll help."

Shocked by the senseless slaughter of a man looking for a loved one, Viridi was about to do violence. With a thought, her spear leaps from where it had been lodged and flies to her outstretched hand. But before she could engage the blue metal figure, a massive wall interposes itself between her and her target. She gasps at the vines that came to life to erect the wall, only to find that they are a part of a person! Back on Naya, the tangle vines and strangle vines and mangle vines -- really, there were a lot of vines -- were hazards to be feared and avoided. But she had never seen vines as limbs! "What are you?!?" she gasps.

Take a Powerful Blow: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (1, 1) + 1 = 3
Viridi uses the momentum of her fall to twist in the air, strike the butt of her spear into a crack of split mortar, and swing out away from the crumbling building! She hits the slanted side of a toppling building and slides down with the scree of rubble before leaping out and away from the jagged foundation. "Yuri!!" she shouts once she's back on the ground. "We gotta go!!"

"Yuri!!" Viri shouts when she loses sight of her. Fighting a surge of panic at how helpless she'd be if she lost track of her other half, Viridi scrambles along the trembling building. The noise and chaos threatens to overwhelm her; spinning debris flying and people screaming as the dragon roars! "Stop, just stop!" she shouts, pushing her telekinesis to the limit to freeze the spinning and flying rubble!

"Agreed." Viri takes off in a smooth and graceful run, climbing a piece of cracked pavement and leaping across a gap to a fallen balcony. Her experience navigating swaying branches in the high canopies serve her well as she scampers up the side of a pitched building, for a higher view, all the while keeping Yuri's purple hair in her field of vision. Yuri Tanaka wrote: Yuri holds up her hands. "We apologize for the sudden intrusion. We are, eh, magicians, here to investigate the strange goings-on. What can you tell us about that?" she asks, pointing to the tower and the glyph. Viri follows the same action as Yuri, and holds up her hands while letting her spear clatter to the ground. "Yes. We are here for the strange-ness."

The other woman gawks at the sprawling city, leaning closer to her portal companion for support. She couldn't look more out of place; her clothes were made of woven reeds and strips of leather, designed for camouflage and protection in the wilds rather than getting along in an urban environment. "It's all dead here. Like your home, but not as many poisonous colors. Maybe it won't be as dangerous?"

Voxy ultimately declines getting the implant at the internal urging of Yxov. Day 3 training, that evening Voxy spots the little sentient plant they had met earlier moving through one of the hallways. She dashes in front of the Raxilite, positively glowing. "Doctor Newblossom! I've been wanting to meet you! Well, you'd met us earlier, when Yxov was out, and I wanted to see if you were as adorable as he thought!" She leans down close, looming over the biohacker. "Oooh! I love your flower! Sooo cute! And Yxov thinks so too; don't let him tell you any different." One part of her glowing face dims then brightens again in the equivalent of a wink.

Voxy stands proudly at attention as they begin the graduation ceremony. She gives the 'genetic' sample -- more accurately a precise recording of their unique light wave down to the smallest fraction of ℓ P. Then they're offered the subdermal implant and Voxy giggles. "Ooh! It glows, even!" She rolls up her sleeve, her natural light filling the chamber. "Do you think it'll even show up?"

Okay, we *might* be done, though there's a very real chance I've missed something. Also, I'm wondering if Voxey/Yexov are the right names for this character. What do you think of: V'xey/Y'xev Voxey/Xovey Voxy/Yoxv Voxey/Yoxey or V'oxey/Y'oxey Thoughts?

So, interestingly enough, the Envoy seems to be tailor-made to be the ship's captain. I've got class skills in Bluff, Intimidate and Diplomacy, and a class feature that lets me boost my Sense Motive and one other skill with a d6. So far, no one's angled for the captain's chair and I'm not dead set for it. But, I think Voxey/Yexov, the dual-souled Shakalta might be a good choice to be the captain. (If you want an old married couple in one body bickering over how to run a ship to be your captain!) |
