Sebastian D'Aubergine wrote: Moff, do you prefer people post in sequence, or should I put up an action and you just sort them out by occurance? Sebastian D'Aubergine: You can post out of sequence, but you want to make sure it's a move that you think that won't be rendered obsolete by someone else's action. That's the trick. I do that sometimes when I have something coming up that may not allow me to come back sooner to double check and take my turn. I end up spoilering those.

I was waiting to see if "5" was going to do anything else. I'm at a loss what to do with him. Is it possible to tell whether standard healing can revive him, or is it something else he's succumbed to? What should I be rolling to check? I can move up 5' to W-23 to check.

Established being in V-24, which flanks the worm in X-23 with Sebastian. Enables arcane strike and swings the morning star again using a sneak attack bonus. To Hit: 1d20 + 7 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 7 + 1 + 2 = 26 If hits, then 1d8 + 3 + 1 + 2 + 2d6 ⇒ (2) + 3 + 1 + 2 + (4, 5) = 17 damage. If the worm is killed, then move to W-24 to provide Sebastian a possible 5' move to flank w/o giving himself an AOO.
Male Tiefling Sorcerer 4 / Rogue 3 (CL 7)
move 10' right to V-24 and activate arcane strike as he pulls out his morning star. swings at worm in V-23, who is flanked and thus picks up the sneak attack bonus. To Hit: 1d20 + 7 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 7 + 1 + 2 = 25 If hits, then 1d8 + 3 + 1 + 2 + 2d6 ⇒ (8) + 3 + 1 + 2 + (5, 5) = 24 damage.
Male Tiefling Sorcerer 4 / Rogue 3 (CL 7)
move up 10' to T-24 and materialize next to Ra's-ug. Launch magic missiles at worms in Q-20, Q-21, Q-22, and P-22 missile 1 dmg to worm Q-20: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 missile 2 dmg to worm Q-21: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 missile 3 dmg to worm Q-22: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 missile 4 dmg to worm P-22: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 Brace yourself, warrior. I've roused the hornets.
Male Tiefling Sorcerer 4 / Rogue 3 (CL 7)
Vassago considers his remaining resources and decides to take a more subtle tactical maneuver. He quickly disappears. Casts invisibility on self. Acrobatics: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 23 Move to T-26 Do you have to roll Acrobatics each round if you want to move at regular speed versus half? I only ask because I intend to likely move at double movement; if not more.
Male Tiefling Sorcerer 4 / Rogue 3 (CL 7)
Forget the multiverse, those halflings will become the death of me... My eyes wonder for nary a second and behold; yet another is ready to take offense. Vassago reiterates what Five already asked the rogue. Designation, I hope ... for your sake ... that your protocol is the correct one. Else, I'm quite afraid ... that you'll be assigned ... a new one. For your sake, I implore you to decide whether or not the conflicting protocol will be ... your last one, he hissed from beneath the partial mask. bring it.

<returning stage whisper to E.> You heard correctly. Because they're not going to notice you looting through the bodies to see if there are anything of value to help us save the multiverse. I believe it is fair compensation given the inconveniences they've caused us. Maybe they may have some svirfneblinium in their pockets?
Male Tiefling Sorcerer 4 / Rogue 3 (CL 7)
Thank you, designation 5th of 49th, for taking my words seriously. We shall accompany you to the the Cathedral to seek what needs sought. My only request if there is any way that we may have some writ of passage so that we may not be assigned erroneously as unfriendly combatants to other roving squadrons? As you can see here, we ran into some trouble with duplicity. Or if you or another designation are to be assigned to accompany us during our stay in Regulus, we would be most appreciative. whispers to E.:
I believe we are going to be fine, little one. Go ahead and put the compass away, but keep those safe places in mind in case we need to suddenly get out of trouble. We're counting on you.
What am I saying here?
in Draconic to anyone understanding: Stay alert. While we may have a moment to breathe and compose ourselves, it does not mean that we have encountered our last rogue. If anyone is severely hurt, have Lanwin aid to their wounds.
Male Tiefling Sorcerer 4 / Rogue 3 (CL 7)
What is your designation, modron? I do not need to go into detail about your Great March as commanded by The One and The Prime every seventeen years, correct? Your next one is not due for four more years, but I fear for the sake of the multiverse we cannot wait that long. For as you have witnessed with your own eyes, Law is descending into Chaos. We seek a key we are told can be found in Regulus that is one of <insert number> that can be inserted into a device which draws its power from all of the concordant planes to keep Law - and Chaos - in balance; but to prevent it from engaging as it leads into complete annihilation if we do not retrieve them quickly. Speaking of the Primus, has anyone noticed His whereabouts ... or the lack of His whereabouts? Surely there has been nervous whispers? Especially when protocol appears to be in conflict with standard procedure. Analyze this for yourself, modron. Search your logic and rationalize accordingly. Remove the fetters that blind you. Or else what Elysia has demonstrated to you moments ago is merely a prelude to what madness will come forth. Do you want to contemplate the odds of your survival? Or would it be easier for you to just shrug aside what I say as madness? En passant. Your move.
Male Tiefling Sorcerer 4 / Rogue 3 (CL 7)
Elysia! Could you come here for a moment, my dear? The nice gentlemen here would like to see an illusion. Do you have anything creative you'd like to show off? Surely you do have something for ... he turns to face the modron ... what is your designation again? I may have not heard you clearly the first time. My apologies. With all this gesticulation, he mumbles in between pauses the phrases for a message cantrip and touches E. on the shoulder. whispers to E.:
where-ever I walk, we should be able to communicate as if we were whispering as we are now. Understood? Just nod your head to affirm. But be prepared. Slink back and feign fear if you must in order to do so. oh gods, the fate of the multiverse is in the hands of crazed halflings. Vassago refrained from gritting his teeth. This time.

Moff DM wrote: In answer to your first request -- 31. And yes you saw them coming. Proximity of distance from the PC nearest to them? Casually walks to V-11 where the "pentamodron" lies dead; in ear shot of Pinna and E. Whispering: Little one; get the device ready. And think of a favorable destination than the one we're heading into.
I'm taking a risk asking him what he thinks is favorable, but it ought to be better than what's likely to happen here next. I still have those teleport scrolls, but we'd have to leave someone behind. It's one of those days where I wish I could cast feather fall.

Define large squad. Depending on the numbers, would we have seen them coming? Second: "I got a bad feeling about this."
Male Tiefling Sorcerer 4 / Rogue 3 (CL 7)
We must keep one alive to interrogate. But as for the other? I'll take umbrage with him. With that, he promptly hurls another acid orb at the nearest opponent flanking Pinna in X-11. Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 8 + 1 = 20 if hits, damage: 4d8 ⇒ (2, 1, 4, 6) = 13 Moves to X-13

Male Tiefling Sorcerer 4 / Rogue 3 (CL 7)
Vassago clenches his fists. Not yet. It's too early. Control yourself. And the claws quickly recede beneath his flesh. He raises his voice toward his opponent. in Draconic:
Your ruse has been penetrated, Gith. Slaadi could do better without effort. Coward.
Pitches another acid orb. Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 8 + 1 = 25 If struck: 4d8 ⇒ (8, 4, 6, 8) = 26 damage. 5' right to U-16

Vassago could not determine what the lone quadrone had casted, so determined that the need was more urgent to focus on him. He leans back, winds his arm, and throws an acid orb. Designation 800807734, prepare to receive further instructions. Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 8 + 1 = 11 If struck: 4d8 ⇒ (1, 7, 2, 4) = 14 damage.
Male Tiefling Sorcerer 4 / Rogue 3 (CL 7)
Since Lanwin is first, I'm spoilering for my turn so I can go off the radar as a storm is coming. Spoiler: Step 5' right to T-16. Cast Magic Missile; all 4 to focus on the Pentadrone in V-11. Spell Resistance: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14 If I beat SR, then damage: 4d4 + 4 ⇒ (2, 1, 2, 4) + 4 = 13 We must knock out the leader as these depend on hierarchy for tactical instruction and deployment. At range if you can do it now! You fighters should deploy to dispatch the grunts in close combat. Make it count! Hopefully they hit harder than Vortic Sword-Wielder.

Vassago chuckled at the ironic statement the daft halfling had made; nodding in agreement. After hearing Pinna's remark, it only confirmed what was about to happen next. I am but a physical embodiment of all that is arcane. If I decipher your protocol correctly, you're demanding that I surrender myself? I can do you one better, my dear rambunctious rhomboidomorons. Allow us to educate you in the finer details of division, he replied icily. Class is now in session. He steps back.
Male Tiefling Sorcerer 4 / Rogue 3 (CL 7)
Vassago decides to be a bit more succinct. You may wonder as to why this would even concern you? Let me be a bit more forthcoming. If we don't do something, all of the planes will fall out of their alignment; balance will crumble and dissipate. Chaos will spawn from disorder. Your life, as well as you, will cease to become. Your existence? Nihil. Your loved ones? Nihil. This will not be an easy task, but looking from the likes of you two, taking the route of least resistance isn't exactly your nature. You strive to fight for a worthy cause. So, you ask yourself: "What is in it for me?" To which I reply: your very life. If you could see underneath his partial mask, one would see him smile ... a sinister one. And to crack some skulls in. Especially those who are biding to do evil. That, gentlemen, will be your prime directive if you choose to accompany us. What says you? For we depart at whatever it is they call Dawn in this realm.

Thank you, designation 71523186. You are ... he turns to see that the quadrone had already departed. ... whatever, he mumbled. He turns to face the two large men eating and takes a moment to measure their probable worth. They appear to be soldiers that have spent considerable time in close combat. I could not help but notice that by your mannerisms of crouching over your plate and wrapping one of your arms around it that you may have seen some time in a formal military unit. Haste and a natural inclination to protect your flank will indeed be desirable for where we're about to disembark. I hope that you also possess the means of flexibility as you will soon witness, we are not exactly what you would come to expect as a normal group of individuals ... Or an organized one, for that matter. Vassago tilts his head ever so slightly glance at the halflings. If one of them ends up saving the multiverse, that doesn't say much to bringing balance back into order. Mercurial, more likely. With that, he returns his full gaze toward the strangers he addressed to await a response.
