Variel will let them leave and then set to gathering up the abandoned loot. "Well at least we can set things right for Tokku."

Once it is all gathered he'll start back to the shop to help with cleanup there.

Variel looks on aghast at Katsumi's performance. maybe she has gone gold mad? he thinks to himself

In response to her taunt, Variel replies flatly "Oh I can see a song forming here but I doubt it would be one you would like"

He quickly turns his attention back to the fey to see how they react.

Variel will step forward "Commodore Sticky Fingers, it was a great prank, and you led us a great chase, but the game is over now. We don't want to hurt you, but you need to make amends for the harm you have caused. A poor shopkeeper's livelihood has been destroyed. If you would return the stolen jewellery and apologise to Tokku we can leave things at that."

Variel will try to recall his crafting training but it doesn't seem to be coming to mind just now.

Variel will spend the hour before the feast jamming with the local musicians and trying his best to learn a few tunes.

During the feast he will eat well, and refocus by telling wild stories of past adventures. "Have I told you about the time I had to chase down some bandits while traveling along the Golden Road, well there was only a small group of us when out of the sand..."

At Tokku's shop, Variel will first have a careful look around

and then try to talk to the proprietor. "Such a shame about your shop. Could you tell us a bit about what happened? Where you here at the time?"

"Well, what can one do but entertain with such a ready made audience? " and Variel will swing his lute to the front and start with a popular Absalom tavern song or two. He will be seeking a bit more than that though and encourage any local performers to join him and try to learn enough of at least one Nantambu favorite to accompany them.

It seems though that this hasn't worked so well just yet.

"Hmm, I wonder if we can make its tree refuge a little less attractive. How about we add a snake." Variel will muse

and then he will cast figment and conjure the image of a large python uncoiling from the top of the tree and starting to move down, its head dangling down and its tongue sniffing/tasting the air. The snake will be in the opposite direction to Mik-mek's fish from Crinkle.

Variel will burst into song, encouraging his allies to acts of valour! He'll try to sustain the song and then sling a rock at the remaining ooze.

Picking up on Winter's cue, Variel will try to convince Kana to take the land more seriously.

"Kana, this land is bountiful but needs to be tended to produce both for yourself and the people of Nantambu. Farmers are amongst the most important people on Golarian! We should be able to get things back in order and make it easier for you to continue in the future. "

and while it is apparent Variel is no athlete he will pitch in, leading the group in a working song as they go.

"Glad you knew what you were doing there Athena - looks like I need to do some more reading about the magic side of things." Variel will say as they walk back to Djani.

"Oooh, that's one upset bat! Even if we save it I wonder if it will speak to Weaver-of-tales again?"

Knowing a little bit about occultism, Variel will try his best to work out to stop the ritual, but really he has no idea!

After meeting the townsfolk and hearing their requests he will huddle with the party and in a hushed whisper say "Look, Cora sounds pretty keen on finding their cat, but I feel that could take us ages. Should we try some of the others first and see if the cat just turns up? I was thinking maybe we should help with the food first - gives it time to cook 'n all"

"Teacher Ot, I am intrigued as to what you have planned for us. What does the exchange involve?"

Variel will sample a few of the food stalls as they walk and will enthusiastically reply to the Magaambyan teacher "It is great to meet you Teacher Ot, I am called Variel Liadon. I will admit that I am the least experienced of this group. This is my first time in Nantambu and I am perhaps most excited about the possibility of learning some new music. I have heard that Nantambu has a great music scene! As for why I joined the Pathfinders, well, I tried to run away for a time but eventually was drawn back to the work my father did many years ago and joined the Society. I like to think it is my performance skills that have been the most useful so far, Erastil knows it isn't my riddle solving skills" and he smiles ruefully.

Thanks all, I've taken protective and rugged boons and applied then to Vairel. All good to go.

Variel Liadon, a half elf in well-kept black leathers has been difficult to miss on the riverboat up to Nantambu. On many days, when the weather allowed, he spent the day sitting on deck strumming his lute, jotting down notes and, more often than not, cursing. Of an evening, he has led any who would join in raucous renditions of popular pub songs.

Variel joins Winter and Athena disembarking, his lute slung over his back. Jovially chatting with the centaur he says "Agreed, I am not sure what to expect here, but ... looking forward to the exchange of ideas. Perhaps there might even be a new song in it!"
