Might get eaten by wolves though :p

"Mm. I agree - we should not keep them waiting. But wrapping up here first would be wise." Illthir shares her stance. She looks around to make sure Ilvah wasn't within earshot. Though that could actually help them figure things out ... Didn't seem right. "Only bit I've got so far on the rumours is talk about 'a little girl from a well-to-do family surviving a wolf attack that claimed both her parents a year, or two back'. That doesn't explain why she would be out alone in the forest though. Nor whom cared for her afterwards, if anyone." she pauses and grimaces. "We could ask Ilvah how she feels about wolves. About as subtle as a mace to the face though ..."

Some party members know or remember another guy who lives out this way who might have a thing or two to say about wolves as well.

"We'll be breaking camp early tomorrow Cos. Nothing of any matter left to hunt it seems."

Everyone standing about the range with longbow looks at the one person using a crossbow disapprovingly. Some of the older/more noble ones look on just as disapprovingly at the lone archer without a y chromosome. Overall the attitude of the implied folks is a bit condescending toward both Numalar and Scarlet. This is done in that 'good-natured' and time-honored tradition popular within the 'Good Old Boys Network'.

Round 2 - Normal range - Make a ranged attack with a longbow. ;)

Renault: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24 "That's more like it." Renault says proudly.

Henson: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 "Uff."

Rolf: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17 "Hey!"

Grayling: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 "Really not really my weapon."

Soot: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 "Ugh."

Valorin: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24 "Nice shot sir." Valorin nods to Mr. Renault who looks a bit shocked that Valorin was able to match him.

Finch: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21 "HAHA!"

"Your go again." Valorin says to Zokon.

The two wealthiest archers are using really nice bows so don't feel bad about using yours or (if you are feeling brave) borrowing one of theirs.

Zokon: Renault being such a hunting enthusiast, has an archery range on his property. Once the hunters break up they naturally gravitate that way since the threats of wolf and pig have been dealt with.

Round 1 - Normal range - Make a ranged attack with a longbow.

Renault: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10 "Terrible. Simply terrible." Renault says and then watches everyone else with the interest of an eagle.

Henson: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14 "Hey!"

Rolf: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 "Uff."

Grayling: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10 "Not really my weapon you know."

Soot: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18 "HAH! Now that's how it is done."

Valorin: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23 "Really Soot, you shouldn't put on airs."

Finch: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21 "HAH! BY OL' DEADEYE, I'VE STILL GOT IT!"

"Well Cos?" Valorin says with mock politeness.

Folks at the house may join in. Also don't forget you have a new bow to play with as well.

Sorry I figured i'm doing the same I was

"Ahhh that's it, they think that wolf was Tamris's... Fans friend, animal companion and Fan wants to keep it alive so it can help him find his friend Tamris" says Zokon to Valorin in a slightly loud voice so anyone nearby can overhear

Without turning his head Valorin snaps: "What does it matter! When your neighbor's dog threatens your children you kill it-- Wait. Where's it gone!?"

"It's a wolf!" Valorin spits. "All you need to kill it is skill and fortitude."

Valorin moves forward bow in hand.

"Fools! Move aside!"

He closes to within 30 feet and fires, deftly and cleanly threading his shot though the assembled crowd.

composite longbow (point blank, precise, favored enemy): 1d20 + 6 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 6 + 1 + 2 = 28 damage: 1d8 + 1 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 1 + 1 + 2 = 5 Wow. He has not rolled higher than a 2 on damage. Just wow.

The big wolf gives a loud cry and looks to be as bad off as he was a moment ago.

Zokon is watching on with a kinda paralyzed shock, he can't stand against Valorin

"Valorin, it seems the bard Fan knows this wolf? I'm not sure completely but my companions appear to be trying to defend the wolves now, i'd say they aren't the right ones, more likely a get rich scheme from some shady type"

"Not to worry. I won't hit your friends." Valorin says grimly.

*Derisive snort*

"I've got him Zokon." Valorin says nocking an arrow.

Scarlet Scarab wrote:

Scarlet seems like a kid at a candy store, hopping between various attractions.

Next up is the shooting range.

Scarlet's aim is way off, however.

"Student of yours Zokon?" Valorin says with a smile. He slaps Zokon on the back collects his purchases makes to leave.

After they have collected their mounts they trot past.

"Once I've killed the wolf and return perhaps you'll let me show you the proper way to use that bow. You can of course watch too Zokon."

He smiles and he and his men prod their horses into a gallop and they thunder out of the fair heading west.

"AHA! Well met cousin!" Valorin slams into Zokon embracing the man in terrific hug. "I'd only just arrived to see how you were doing, when what does everyone one tell me, but Zokon's gone to back to Restov! HA!"

He releases Zokon and ruffles his hair. The whole engagement of Brevic affection possibly costing both men a point or two of non-lethal damage. ;)

"This is Greyling and Soot my current accomplices." He introduces his friends who both pause for a moment to consider how to greet you, before Valorin breaks the pause with a nod and the men settle on smiles and very firm handshakes.

Amid the gathering are a number of other men all their apparently to purchase archery supplies.

"So? How goes it with you?"
