Thanks all for a fun game and the yaks!

Fumbus quickly used hisast batch of reagents to create a vial of alchemist's fire, which he tosses toward the tree-like terror.

Covered in sticky goo, Fumbus huffs. Then chucks his remaining vials of alchemist's fire at the tree fiends.

"Found fire!" Fumbus shouts with glee as he produces a vial of alchemist's fire. He quickly tosses the vial at the nearest forested foe.

With one foe ablaze with alchemist's fire, the goblin takes a step back and hurls a second vial at the larger arboreal adversary.

Can't beat a 24 even with a nat20.

Fumbus begins to dig through his belongings. "Now, where did Fumbus keep rest of fire?"

"What longshanks said." adds Fumbus.

Seeing the others start looking for tracks, Fumbus shrugs and follows suit.

Survival: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12

"Well, hopefully that takes care of the statues, though I'm still not sure why the guardians would have attacked you. Perhaps there was something flawed in their creation."

Karando will offer to heal (via lay on hands) everyone over the course of the next half hour, but request that anyone who wants healing make something beautiful or useful--

Fumbus creates some flames, which he considers both beautiful and useful.

Preferring not to get hit again, Fumbus ducks back into the brush, tossing a second vial of acid at the purple statue.

Throw (Quick Bomber), guidance: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
If hits, the flask filled with corrosive acid deals 1 acid damage, persistent acid damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3, and 1 acid splash damage.

He then hops into the cart.

Feeling the touch of the wizard, Fumbus looks up from his recent find to see the cause of the commotion, then feels sees the monk punching creatures of stone.

"Look like longshanks got statue here. Fumbus get others." he says, moving past the back of the horses toward the two he sees through the brush.

Retrieving a vial of acid from his bandolier, the goblin tosses it at the statue before him.
Throw (Quick Bomber), guidance: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 6 + 1 = 25
If hits, the flask filled with corrosive acid deals 1 acid damage, persistent acid damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3, and 1 acid splash damage.

Fumbus is distracted. Having stopped to probe the contents of one of his nostrils with a finger, the alchemist brings his latest discovery to his mouth for potential identification by taste.

Hamarel perks up. "Fellow Pathfinders! Worry not, we're here to help. I don't have a wayfinder, but I was given this nice personalized lid..."

"Pathfinder!" Fumbus echoes with obvious pride.

Sylvia adjusts her glasses "We've been sent to rescue you by Amara Li."

"Longshanks supposed to be at town of Sakakabe two weeks ago. But not show." Fumbus elaborates. "Pathfinders sent to figure out what happened. Now that longshanks found, Fumbus hope you tell us."

Fumbus, Sylvia, Hamarel and Xoathos all agree the Fox headed creature is a Kitsune, a race of crafty shape-changing humanoids common throughout Tiean, including the Forest of Spirits.

"Let's keep eye out for fox that, er, changes shape to not look like fox." Fumbus suggests.

"Fumbus, can you get the yaks moving again?"

"Does yak fur burn?" the goblin replies rhetorically.

Nature: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (5) + 0 = 5

Fumbus ponders how quickly he could ignite the surrounding trees even with the blanket of snow.

Fumbus keeps an eye out, particularly giving a wary eye toward the trees.
Perception +3

Fumbus sits down on the ground, warming himself by the glow of the burning tree creature and retrieves some bandages.

"Er, Fumbus get help, perhaps?" the goblin calls to his fellow Pathfinders. "Fumbus got stuck in back. Hole there now. Fumbus can't reach."

Fumbus sits down on the ground, warming himself by the glow of the burning tree creature and retrieves some bandages.

"Er, Fumbus get help, perhaps?" the goblin calls to his fellow Pathfinders. "Fumbus got stuck in back. Hole there now. Fumbus can't reach."

The goblin comes to, closing his eyes and rubbing his head. "Whooah! Fumbus had bad dream," he begins as he slowly opens his eyes. "In dream, Fumbus attacked by a----wha-! Tree!" exclaims the goblin as he eyes set upon the attacking wooden creatures.

"Time for Fumbus to leaf!" The goblin attempts to crawl out from under the branches of the furious flora and get to his feet.

He then gets up and puts more distance between himself and the tree-creature.
Stride

Then, reaching into his bandolier, he tosses a vial of alchemist's fire at the bluish-barked son of a birch that had branched him.

When the tree creature's limb initially fails to connect, the goblin gleefully chants, "Tree miss Fumbus! Tree miss Fumbus! Tree miss Fum--"

As the second limb slashes into the goblin, the chant comes to an abrupt end. Looking down and realizing that he is hurt, but not mortally, the goblin sighs with relief. He gleefully begins to cheer, "Fumbus okay! Fumbus okay! Fumbus okkk------"

As another limb impales the goblin, the cheer comes to an abrupt end.

Dying 1

"Hmmm, most trees don't protest burning." notes Fumbus.

The goblin races forward while reaching for a vial of alchemist's fire. Stride x2

He let's one fly at the blue-ish barked foe.

Upon hearing the choice of the prior caravan of Pathfinders, Fumbus waxes aloud (with apologies to Robert Frost)

"Two roads diverged in woods, and Fumbus-
Fumbus caught woods on fire and hence,
Burned through wood another pathway. And that,
Has made all the difference."

He scans the forest, trying to determine any discernable reason why one road would be taken rather than the other--and also where to possibly start burning.

Not understanding the old woman's words, Fumbus blows robustly on the blackened stick, hoping to get it any lingering embers to reignite and produce a flame. Heeding Sylvia's words, he puts a grimy hand over each of his eyes and then continues to blow.

Fumbus walks up to one of the villagers who is curing meat. The goblin points at one of the curing slabs, then asks, loudly and slowly in Taldane, "Mind if Fumbus eat that?"

Oh, yeah. Sorry, I wasn't trying to be mean about it. I'm just trying to play this guy as the voice of reason!

I appreciate reason. Fumbus, however, does not!

Amara Li suppresses a smile, ”My apologies master Fumbus, would you prefer a pair of yaks in place of the horses?”

"Apology accepted." answers Fumbus, looking quite relieved. "And, yes, prefer yaks."

He glances at Karando, then cups his mouth and leans into Amara Li to ask, "Now, can human be replaced too? Would prefer another yak."

I'm not looking to derail the scenario or force other PCs to forego mounts. Just playing up Fumbus' goblin-ish-ness! If there are alternatives, like camels or axebeaks, then Fumbus will seek them out. Otherwise, he'll just swallow his racial prejudices for a few weeks.

"What would you say if someone said they wouldn't go into the forest with us because we had a goblin along? We all need to work together on this."

Fumbus scratches his head quizzically as he ponders the Pathfinder's question. After a few moments, he asks, "If say, 'would not go into forest with goblin along', then Fumbus ask, 'Where would go with goblin along'?" He looks awkwardly at the human as if the answer were somehow obvious.

Sylvia tries to distract Fumbus from the horse problem with her notebook full of sketches of humanoid skulls.

"Fumbus, let me show you something... Before getting promoted to the library at the Grand Lodge I used to work at the morgue cataloguing fallen Pathfinders... I used to make sketches on my break, come take a look."

"Nice work." the goblin opines as he views the sketches of the skulls. "But, need learn better how to draw skin."

Hamarel chuckles. "Have you ever seen a horse, or merely heard your people's terrifying tales of them? You may find that friends reveal themselves in the most unlikely places." The elf does look more likely to acquiesce to the goblin's demands. "But I will pull the cart, if you so desire."

"Oh, Fumbus seen lots of horses. And horses' hooves! And teeth!" replies the goblin with a shutter. "After Fumbus..er...leave...tribe, Fumbus go look for food around human places. Saw horrifying horses! Deadly dogs! Even, hideous humans!" The goblin shutters again.

Then, realizing that he may have made offense, Fumbus turns toward Karando. "Don't worry, Fumbus willing to go into forest with longshanks. Fumbus have strong stomach for such things!"

"But, don't expect Fumbus to ride." he adds softly.

Amara Li smiles, ”A map will be provided along with a sturdy wagon stocked with basic provisions for a month and a pair of horses to pull the wagon.”

"No, no, no, no, no, no, no." Fumbus repeats, shaking his head at the words of Amara Li as if she had said something terribly wrong.

The goblin points at the elves. "Longshanks strong...ish. Longshanks pull cart! Otherwise, Fumbus walk!"

Running Basaru/Amulet both times, haven't read other statblocks beyond a glance.

Playing in one of those presently. And don't think we've even gotten far enough yet to identify those elements.

Hamarel offers Fumbus another flask, lower-quality alcohol than what he was just drinking. "For a much smoother taste, then," he says jovially. "So how have you all been working to build up the Lodge? As mentioned, I did so in the literal sense. Centuries' experience are second to a lack of general bookishness."

Fumbus takes a long swig, swishes it around in his mouth, then swallow. "Could be a bit more chewy, though." he says as he picks a few leaves out from between his teeth and tosses them onto his tongue before taking another long swig from the flask.

"Worked on buildings, too. Only burned down three." the goblin explains. "After that, the Longshanks' tell Fumbus he should go hide in woods. Did good job. too. Fumbus not found for eight days. Probably could have not been found for longer, but came out of hiding once told that Longshanks had a mission for me."

After a brief pause where Amara Li looks at each Pathfinder to ensure that they are agreeable to the idea of a recovery mission.

Fumbus releases a soft belch in the affirmative, which smells of faintly of the fragrance of tea and dislodges a piece of tealeaf from between a pair of pointed teeth.

“The locals will know more than I of what perils to expect.”

"What missing Pathfinders look like?" asks Fumbus. "Then, can share description with kami if Fumbus get possessed."

Having been poured a cup of tea, Fumbus reaches for the pot. Removing its lid, the goblin gleefully pours its entire contents into his waiting mouth before wiping his mouth on his sleeve. His mouth proceeds chewing for a few moments. The goblin then swallows.

"Not bad," opines the goblin, "But a bit more chewy than Fumbus expected." He gives a wide, sharp-toothed grin with scattered bits of tea leaves visibly stuck within his teeth.

Fumbus adjusts his glass vials.

I will bow out of the two games offered, due to the other commitments and having played both scenarios with the same GMs.

However, based on my experience, I suspect that those who do play on
will have a great time. Happy gaming all!

Fevered and dying, Kyra dreams of a platinum-skinned angelic minion, escorted by eleven divine doves, overtaking her body and carrying it towards a fiery orb in the sky...

Could've worked, but that crit wasn't bad. Does forceful damage get multiplied? I did his damage assuming it does and now I see you added some in.

Yes, but it looks like I should have added another +2 to damage for forceful on the crit, per PT CRB pg. 179:

COUNTING WEAPON DAMAGE DICE
Effects based on a weapon’s number of damage dice (such as charge or forceful) include only the weapon’s damage die plus any extra dice for a magic weapon. They don’t count additional dice from abilities, critical specialization effects, property runes, weapon traits, or the like. On a critical hit, you double this bonus only once; you don’t double it again due to the number of damage dice increasing.

Oops. Forgot about bless (even though GM Crunch had the where-with-all to post it with Initiative)! So, add +1 to the attack rolls. Had I been aware, I should have only attacked once and reserved an action to maintain bless[, but I think we have this fight anyways, right?

Seeing the winged foe down, Kyra rushes forward, attempting to sever the link that controls the others with her magic scimitar.
