![]() Valen stays seated and listens attentively before injecting his own words. “I’d be more than willing to help, it seems you folks out here could use all the help you could get. The coin is appreciated, but no need to bankrupt yourselves just to pay us. Enough to keep ourselves going helpful. Do you know anything else about these marauding hobgoblins?” ![]()

![]() Valen: “We’ll I’d help anyways but I’ll take you up on the offer Morlin Coalhewer. I appreciate such a fine blade, and I’m never one to turn down the chance to own such a work of great craftsmanship.” after holding it for a moment and feeling the blade he returns it with a smile. “I’ll be off, but when I come back I’ll hopefully have the coin for your blade and you’ll have less to worry about around here.” . With that he gives a curt bow and heads to meet up with the others content in taking in the town and it’s ambiances.

![]() Valen: Slight miss communication, the conversation with the patron from what I believe has the same effects as augury. Would not cast such a spell with given how it is said to be done through your patron in front of him. “Oh it’s no problem, merely a curious traveler with a need for arms and armor. Im not exactly flush with coin myself. I only have 24 gold to my name a few heirlooms. Was wondering though how things have been here, maybe I could help or maybe I could do a favor for you in exchange for a favor.” ![]()

![]() Valen: He sheathes the blade, as the voice finishes it’s laugh. The trance of staring into the blade finally ending, taking with it his energy as well. The urge to drop the blade in the mud creeps into his mine but he can’t bring himself to do it. Feeling no better than before he decides to settle for simple conversation instead of facts. Putting the blade to his hip once again he decides to visit the smithy, knowing a little about the process and curious enough to start a conversation. “Good evening Master Smithy, my name is Valen. I see the find craftsmanship with which you work that blade. I’m curious as to what you have for sale, or at the very least what you are able to create.” ![]()

![]() Valen: Valen takes the some time to walk off and see the town. He always enjoyed the small town life especially as of the last few years and his travels. He does take a few minutes to see if there is any nobility within the town, old habits die hard and maybe talking with them could yield some information that he may need. If any are found he takes a moment to get himself some privacy. Taking a moment to look around he unsheathes the blade simply extending it from the scabbard. Looking within the slightly tinted blade he sees the glowing red eyes of the The Light Taker Issachar, the fiendish creature he was connected to. Hearing nothing but feeling the presence with a cold sweat on the back of his neck, as the hairs stand up he thought his question to it. [i] “Will this noble be able to help us?” [/b] ![]()

![]() Valen is quiet and lets the others do the talking, he’s never been here and with how things are he can sense the tension. Once inside he listens to Luanna speak. “Well I’m amenable to working together. I’m more or less just venturing on my own. Just a word to the warning though, I have…. A ally of a special type. I can speak to them somewhat regularly, and he’s pretty reliable with questions on what to do. I could do it now if we have any questions of what we should do?” ![]()

![]() Valen once the battle is over immediately sheaths his blade with odd haste. He surveys the carnage of the battle with grim sadness. Taking a deep breath he can’t help but feel sad for the poor guards caught up in all this. He helps how he can with dead and taking care of them. “Well we should get ready to be off I think. Everyone has gotten a chance to heal and we have a scout ahead. We can continue our conversations on foot.” ![]()

Nightmare He focuses for a moment and as he takes off several copies of him split off, ready to engage.

![]() Valen walks with a purpose, quietly thinking as they walked. The armor reflecting the sun, and the sigil on it plainly visible. The sword held with a backdrop of flames, he was glad he only had to explain it once really. He never liked mentioning his ties to nobility, it made things awkward and strange. As he continues to walk he is reminded of the blade at his hip and it’s weight, despite its relatively normal appearance. He looks over at Luanna, the elven woman’s attempt at small talk wasn’t the worst he had seen. But it was awkward. The small group that had formed was one he welcomed, the solidarity of others was welcome. It was an excuse to not seek out unwelcome conversations. Xulgag was interesting such a grizzled Orc yet he could be articulate unlike some men he had met. Luanna was an elf as if out of a story, otherworldly and close to nature he couldn’t help but wonder, how someone as mystical as herself ended up simply on the road. Then Stensan the young man was her grandson, bright eyed and full of vigor. Content to let the others speak he simply nods in response to Xulgag. |
