![]() Upon hearing the kind words of the man, Valan calls his dog back, walking towards the people with a smile. "Well such an offer cannot be declined i think. I would love to and my companions surely as well." he says, and gladly accepts the food - propably of much better quality than what the group used as proviant. Godris is therewhile quite happy to play with the children and to recieve all the petting he can get. Mispronouncing the name, he speaks up: "Frabatennos, tell us please, have you witnessed anything out of the ordinairy on your journey through these woods?", while he walks to the fire, to sit down together with the minstrels. ![]()

![]() You still didn't add the missing size boni: +1 attack and +4 stealth (1 rank+ 3 from skill focus + 4 from dex + 4 from size= +12) Also you should know that spellcasters in pathfinder have a harder time using their stuff in battles. First the casting time for spells with somatic or material components is increased, allowing only a 5' step. In addition, melee fighters can hold actions to interrupt you in many was - even going as fas as running up to you and then attacking when you try casting. That way a bodyguard is pretty useful for any spellcaster (who can interrupt the interrupting attack etc :D). Thankfully our dwarf is a walking bulwark - with tower shield and all. So yes, you pretty much need combat casting if you want to actually cast stuff in combat :D. Btw, Tanglewine is pretty neat - and slightly lovecraftian (i mean, really, a tentacle-like vine coming from your hand?) Also: I just realized we all have 1 hero point at the beginning of an adventure :D @Ryuko regarding hero points: I'd say you should just award them for critical successes that actually contribute to something. Getting a 20 on perception when i suspect something hides in a cave - while there isn't anything - shouldn't give me one. It's not heroic to notice safety. But if there actually was a bear, and i noticed it in a super-awesome way (is it possible to notice something in a super-awesome way lol?) then you should give one imho. ![]()

![]() Let's do the spell math step by step. look at Chapter 7 - spells Spellcasting Table 1: Spells Known/Prepared: As a sorcerer 1 you have spell capacity 1st level.
0+1 means that you only get the bonus spell for that level by default, in the case of the sorcerer that is your bloodline spell. Next step: Expanded arcana gives you one addition cantrip known and one additional level 1 spell known. Then add one spell known from favored class. You don't get any more spells for now. I don't know where you found something indicating 2 additional spells. So basicaly you need to delete one known cantrip and two 1st lvl spells. Hope that helped :D Some more things i noticed:
I'm looking forwards to insanitree :D ![]()

![]() Of course Valan allowed Bronn to play with his dog. How can you not enjoy watching a giant play with a dog? When he sees the travelers in such a defensive formation, Valan is relieved and his staff returns to walking-staff duty. He walks towards the two axe-wielders and takes a bow before the group of performers.
"But it appears you were lucky and still have your life and cargo. Please excuse all the axe business. Lieutenant Cragbelly here will explains all.", he says while pointing at the dwarf. Then he looks at Algar and Bronn, making a gesture with his hand to put down the weapons. To make sure his dog doesn't scare anyone by running into the circle, Valan orders him to stay back on the road, which Godris obeys with a disappointed whimper.

![]() Valan turns to the dwarf again and speaks to him calmly:
Then he waves goodbye to the group and swiftly vanishes in the door. He picks up his dog, petting him on the head for dutifuly staying in the place he left him. Then he walks slowly towards the forest's edge, looks for some fresh mushrooms and berries for dinner, ignoring the mouse Godris tries to share with his master.

![]() Knowledge (Lore): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17 When the Major makes it clear the group's buisness here is finished, Valan swiftly leaves through the door. At the first opportunity, he turns to the dwarf in a quiet voice:
Then he picks up the bag he left in the waiting room and heads slowly towards the door. ![]()

![]() As Bronn and Algar entered the waiting room, Valan waved them hello and told his name, but the appearence of the two warriors took him by surprise and so he waited mostly silently until the giant made his heart almost stop with the sudden screaming.
When the major calmly invites the strange group inside though, Valan feels relived but slightly offended about that bathing comment, takes his staff and follows the others inside the room. After hearing out his assignment and the walking muscle-pack's instant salute, Valan looks once again at the faces of his "companions" and speaks up: "Major Vedil, don't you think a well organized squad of soldiers would be better suited to attack goblin tribes? We five haven't worked together before, throwing us onto an unknown number of aggressors could result in disaster."

![]() "Oh well, i don't have a clue myself, just something about a new unit i heard.", Valan tells the tall woman, wondering about her fancy words. Saying that, he let's out another sigh. "Coulda just stayed under that tree when it's only waiting here as well - much more relaxing that way. But you got a point, the sun is rather relentless today." ![]()

![]() After patrolling the surrounding forest for a few hours, a „job“ he was already doing for some weeks, Valan made rest at the forest border.
Shortly after Valan sat down the dog ley beside him, poking the man in the side until he finaly started to run his fingers through the animal's grey-brown fur.
With his furry friend's head on his lap and the sun shining through the leaves on his face, Valan fall asleep for a short time. His sleep was short since his dog's barking woke him up when someone was approaching. „Shh Gordis, don't make a ruckus“ Valan muttered while swiftly standing up and looking towards the direction of his visitor. When Podrick emerged from between the bushes, Valan greeted him formaly, and after listening to the man's complains about his habit of camping in the wild, he accepted his new orders, assembled his stuff and went straight towards the keep.
At the destined building he was stopped by some rude man, who reminded him once again the dog was to be left outside, which apparently didn't please Gordis. But he listened to Valan and sat himself to the left of the building's door, watching all the young recruits practicing in the yard, while hoping go get some food from anyone who passed by. -- As he enters the room, Valan is surprised by the unexpected pair sitting on the bench there.
„Of course i'm pleased to meet you even if you were not summoned for the same cause as myself.“ he adds after considering his words again. Noticing the strong tabaco smell coming from his neighbour he moves a little to the side and starts to watch the door in anticipation of additional unit members.
