My favorite scene in lotr is the fellowship attempting to rescue boramir at the end of the movie. My players next session are going to stumble onto the main villains massive army and I know my players they will not run and I don't want them to, not at first. My question is how do I send 100+ orcs at my players and manage to make them feel like this is epic but we are going to be overwhelmed. In lotr they were one shotting but they knew it was hopeless. Is there like a swarm rule for medium size or army rule?

Hello once again. So after a 5 month campaign, a session a week I have run out of ways to deal with the two handed improved critical vital striking warrior in my game. He is a crutch the players lean on and on more than one occasion he had almost two shotted a boss. He has always had above average rolls which makes it worse. It makes my week planning seem pointless lol. So what do I do about his damage? Background: They just hit level 10 (they started at 5) the entire GRP is melee 2 battle clerics, a rogue, and the fighter. Currently they are in under dark and they are overconfident cause of the fighters power.

The players are level 5. I like the idea of making the creatures neutral, however, the whole murdering people and replacing them is sort of an act of evil, the whole invasion of body snatchers thing. Not to mention their master is a demon, but I think I find a way to work them being mindless drones simply following instructions.

Hello. I am about to run a pathfinder game using an older module from the another game setting. I know my players very well and know that one is about to play a paladin. Paladins "detect evil" I feel is going to ruin any chance of suprise in the game, and be used like a HUD evil bad guy radar, especially when it comes time for a chapter where dopplegangers are switching with NPC's to take over the town. I don't want to nerf/cheat against my players as they have been playing with me for nearly 20 years now and they would see right through it. Any suggestions?
