That would be great. It appears that the DM dropped all of his games in early June. He had IRL problems and needed to shift his priorities. I would welcome someone running this module.

All the aura's are above us in this house, perhaps on the next floor up? The conjuration aura is somewhere in the western part of the manor, though again, above us somewhere.”

”We would do well to remember this bird holding some sort of key. He may be rather holding something or someone in place.”

”I didn’t realize you had such a keen interest and appreciation for the finer details of oil painting Sheaorlis.”

He examines a few himself trying to take in Hunclay’s collection to see what it said about the man, his taste in art and if the subject matters of the artwork gave any insight to his motivations.

”I have never been found of traps, but I am finding my dislike of them growing immensely.”

While the rouge plies his craft, Stone looks around.

Freshly clean and redressed, The Cleric steps out to attempt to meet with the resident sage woman that he and others have been referred to more than once about the local lore.

As he walks he politely greets the villagers he meets along the way looking closely at their facial features.

The cleric somberly walks up the steps of the Inn towards the librarian-wizard warmly called “Bookworm’s” room. He pauses at the door for a moment and then knocks.

The rustling of scrolls and miscellaneous items being knocked over are accentuated with urgings for the cleric to come later or wait for him to come out and a fervent claim that the occupant is on the cusp of a linguistic breakthrough as always.

”I am sorry Bookworm, I can’t just go away this time and I have a duty to complete and you have said yourself how rigid my dogma can be when following the code.”

Stone says with dry humor, but also great remorse in his voice.

He licks his lips.

”Look, I uh, well . . . I just returned from the warrens and um. I am the only one to return Bookworm. The dwarf and the ifrit, they . . . They didn’t make it.”

He lets it sink in a while before continuing.

”We encountered a group of Kobolds at the entrance. We were able to subdue the majority of them after they tried to kill us. You know how she is, er, was. She wanted to bundle them up and save them all, heh render medical aid and whatnot, make sure they weren’t bound too tight and such.”

”The Inquisitor we told you about yesterday, well . . . He and I went down one tunnel while the dwarf got some of the Baronesses men to watch her captives. So the Ifrit and her came down after us, and uh . . . I’m not really sure what happened, but they missed a pit trap and it claimed them both.”

”I have her thunder stick and it’s magic dust and the lead seeds it eats. I know she wanted you to have it. I never made amends with her before she went. I hope she found her family waiting for her in the afterlife.”

”And “Smolder the Good Lookin”, well, hopefully he and the Amazon are together for the eternal now.”

”I’ll miss them both actually.”

”We could have used you down their buddy. There were strange languages and cultural and magical interests and talk of dragons. You would have been useful for sure.”

He pauses and listens ear to the door.

”I’ve found a new group since I believe you said you were going to be out of touch for a while.”

”One of them was a masked elf that had those paired Mithral daggers you were interested in. He’s already departed and took off with them though. No one knows where he was headed.”

”So I am going to be looking into some local trouble it seems. Before I get back to my own mission. We are going to make entry on the Wizard Hunclay’s house. Just thought you might be interested.”

He waits again.

The cleric remains mostly quiet during the visit since he was not directly involved with the freeing of the girl, but attends as he is now a member of the larger group.

He converses politely and pays some respects and compliments as he tries to access the situation.

He observes the girl. The cleric having seen horrors, both medical and mental from battlefields to city streets tries to make a medical assessment.

”We also uncovered that the former chieftain had reached an agreement with the town wizard. The Kobolds driven by their former chieftain and new religious leader agreed to topple the old ruined fortress for some books. Nighttail didn’t know what the books contained. The old and dying Shaman had warned the tribe their chosen path lead them to destruction. Nighttail had also given warning which is why she was being detained and humiliated before being executed.”

”Oh, and we recovered these dragon scales with the old sword.”

”Does the name, Aeteperax, mean something to you?”

”Ahem, well m’lady. Our contingent made contact with the enemy just outside the waterfront entrance to the warrens. We had good luck in our first engagement and killed a few, but many Kobolds were left dying, but treatable, on the battle field. The dwarf was a soft hearted sort. She would not hear of any course of action, but to stabilize and capture the wounded for your judgement.”

”The inquisitor and I ventured in hoping to maintain the momentum and surprise, while the dwarf secured and cared for the wounded. When we backtracked we discovered that the dwarf and Ifrit had met untimely ends in a most heinous pit trap.”

”Not knowing that a second strike team was involved, we pressed on knowing that if there were hostages still time was of the essence.”

”We discovered that the kobold tribe was in a bit of an internal upheaval. A ruffian haD assumed power and wrested the tribe to a new religion and put them in conflict with your lands. We found the leader had imprisoned and was torturing a female magic using kobold named Nighttail who wanted the tribe to move away from and stay out of aggressions with humans recognizing it would lead to the destruction of the tribe.”

”As unlikely allies, Nighttail and her pet dinosaur helped us eliminate the tribal witch doctor, dare I say cleric, navigate the tunnels and fight our way to the tribal leader. Just prior to our final fight we met up with your second team. We joined forces, carried the day and negotiated a withdrawal of the Kobolds under Nighttails leadership and took the tribes treasury.”

”It consisted of this masterwork sword and a few other trinkets.”

"While I agree they should be recovered, we are going to need some ladders, tools, ropes and body wraps on hand before we can do that safely without falling into a pit or getting crushed under a bolder ourselves."

"I also need to drop this bang stick off to Bookworm and maybe get a book on Draconic. I think Nighttail may have been trying to tell us off at the end, but I am not sure."

"And I wasn't proposing dropping the tunnels on them right now, just when they clear out. If goblins or bandits don't move in some farm kids will. This place is an attractive nuisance left empty."

The cleric says as the party moves away from the Kobold warren.

”I suppose we will also need to think about how we can collapse the tunnels so that something worse than Kobolds doesn’t move in, shudder the thought.”
