Thanks guys for the input. I realize I haven't looked at the ACG enough. I especially like the Bloodrager idea from Just a Guess. However I think I am going to try out a hunter. I just need to do some build research and figure out where to go. Also this is for second darkness. If you guys have tips I am all ears.

Well our group tends to be more neutral towards evil so paladin may be out. If a caster I think I prefer spontaneous but others will do.

You will want spell penetration feats to get past any SR. That and make sure you increase the DC of all your spells.

Long time forum troll. First time poster. I have played quite a bit of Pathfinder. I am however at a loss as to what I should play. I like many different concepts. I need an interesting character that is flavorful and mechanically sound. I tend to optimize but see the beauty in rp styles. Please pathfinder deities... help me find a concept to grab me and take me for a ride.
