Yeah, I looked at that, and it only gives me so much to go on. It doesn't really go into a lot of detail on how the cyclopes are integrated into the city, other than they apparently do something with the temples. It's something, but I wanted to know just a little more.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. I think Aelyosos would be a good place to set the campaign, though I wish I could find more information about the place without having to buy Distant Shores. Money's tight, y'know? Seems like a pretty Greek-inspired place, though, so it's a good starting point.

Judging by the sound of it, though, there's not really been any campaigns that truly dive into the history and lore of the ancient cyclopes, so I think that I should be able to get away with this without people going, "Hey, that's just like this adventure path!"

I should probably do something with Skull and Shackles at some point, though. Island of Empty Eyes sounds like another good location, and perhaps can be another location in my game. Then again, it's probably too ambitious of me to plot out a game in the first place, but I've never gotten anywhere by listening to reason.

I'm thinking about making a campaign/one-shot story delving into the history of the cyclopean kingdoms/empires. Has this already been done before, or discussed in an existing campaign? If not, I'd like to discuss how to go about making the story for my own idea. I've never actually put together a custom campaign before, so knowing just about anything related to cyclops would be a great benefit. I mean, I already know the stats and things of cyclopes, but not about their culture, how they're presented in existing campaigns, etc. Any input about what already exists can/will probably help me out.

Just here mentioning that I'm still planning on submitting a character. I just don't know what exactly I should do. I think I've settled on a Yordle paladin that just really likes doing good deeds for his deity. Like, really likes doing good deeds. I mean, did you SEE that good deed he just did? That was a pretty good deed. More people should see his good deeds.

I'm pretty sure my question got buried under all this gun talk, so I'll ask again; are there going to be favored class options for yordles?

Are yordles going to have favored class options at some point? That may finally be what helps me make my decision as I finally get some time to work on a character. I'm now leaning towards either an Order of the Flame Emissary Cavalier, or a Paladin that wants his name in the history books as the greatest follower of his deity, and will do many great acts of heroism and compassion to that end.

Alright, I honestly can't pick what class to be, so I'll ask you guys. Which one of these sounds like the best fit with what everyone else is going with:

Bard
Paladin
Cavalier
Inquisitor

I can build a glory-hungry Yordle out of any of those; yes, even Paladin. I just can't decide on my own, what with my time being short on a daily basis lately. It should only be until the end of the week, though, then I'll be back to my regular schedule of doing mostly nothing all day.

I seriously can't decide what class I should go with. I'm leaning towards either bard or cavalier, but if I'm going to go cavalier, I'd need to know what kind of mounts would be available other than ponies or wolves. I've never been one to go with "standard" mounts, like how one of my goblin cavaliers had a goat mount that he trained from the wild.

I would also need a cavalier to have a way to make his theme song, which most likely would amount to a wand of Ghost Sound, though he would refer to it as his "Music Stick," and no one would ever be able to convince him that it would have more practical uses.

Haven't really had a lot of time to work on my yordle idea, but I should have plenty tomorrow. All I know is that he's going to be glorious, and he's going to have a theme song. He's going to find a way to have it play every time he charges into battle, whether it's a good idea or not. Not sure how I want to go about making that happen, though. Also don't know what his combat style is going to be yet. I'm toying with either mounted or being a spell slinger, but I can't make up my mind.

I'll dot my interest. I want to bring in a character much like Kled: crazy, possibly with a mount, and always eager to fight. Maybe not to the point he thinks he owns everything, but probably more that he wants to be glorious and have everyone know his name. He's also definitely going to be a Yordle. Yordle pride!

For a better reference of what I want, my alias of Urf Rotnose may provide adequate information of the type of character.

Male Human Druid

Well, no one's said anything yet, so I'll be the one to say it:

Hope everyone had a happy holiday season and a new year! Mine has been filled with exhaustion and sickness, but I should be pretty much better now.

Male Human Druid

The goblin will attempt to post tomorrow, should I finally feel able enough to do so. Urf doesn't speak undercommon, though, so he's going to be completely in the dark about what's going on.

Male Human Druid

I've been pretty sick lately, so posting hasn't been on my mind. I'm starting to come around, though, so I should be back and doing Urf things soon enough.

Male Human Druid

I've been a little sick lately, so I haven't really had time to look at any of them. All I can say is that it's probably best if we get someone with healing capabilities, whether on or off the battlefield.

Male Human Druid

My guess for the lack of speed is school. College can eat up quite a lot of time. It's either that or work; sometimes, the colder it gets, the busier workplaces get, especially the months before Christmas.

Male Human Druid

So what's the status on everyone, anyway? Haven't heard from Melaina, Tlugos, or Illiana for a while.

Male Human Druid

Can do, boss. I'll admit that a lot of that is some of my stress from work leaking out here, and for that, I do apologize. I'll be the first to admit I have a problem of letting things from my personal life start to affect my hobbies.

You mean keeping your word, that's lawful. Breaking or going back on your word is unlawful. Which is what I find odd about Urf sense he is CN, does not makes sense to me why he is so unbending about not saying something he was warned and now knows is going to cause problems.

As for murder, that has to do with morality being a question of good or evil not rules or laws. Their are laws that allow you to kill for a number of reasons or merely as a right. As well as laws that use death as a punishment and threat. Lawful evil actively uses murder and torture as a means as well as punishment for their laws and goals.

That's focusing only on one aspect of the alignment, which is a poor way to go about it. LN may give some leniency, but there's still a respect for authority in there, and with the duergar essentially being the authority right now, beating on other slaves is probably against the rules.

It's not odd that a CN would resent being told what to do; he's being told that he shouldn't call someone something, and therefore he's apt to do what he wants. Still, he just went on about how he's no longer going to call him an underling (albeit in defiance of being hit), and Tlugos STILL wants to murder him? That's either him choosing not to understand what Urf was talking about there, or he's actively trying to be the one causing the problem by refusing to let things go; I may add that letting it go isn't necessarily an unlawful act, since he's already smacked Urf, and Urf has made it clear he doesn't consider Tlugos a candidate for an underling anymore, which should sate Tlugos's desire for Urf to stop.

And that example you've brought up has little relevance to the situation. First off, Tlugos is LN, not LE, so that last sentence is irrelevant to the point attempted to be made here, unless you want to say that Tlugos is actually LE. It would also, allegedly, be against Tlugos's morality to murder someone just because they're saying a specific word to them as a LN, as neutrality tends to lean towards the side of good. The laws in the pits, as stated previously, is most likely not going to allow slaves to injure each other and thus remove potentially good labor and resources away from the duergar, so that argument is also irrelevant to the conversation.

The point here is that this whole exchange between the two is simply pointless. Things should just be let go, hopefully in a way that doesn't compromise either of the characters' moralities. The fact that it's being pushed more than just a couple of posts is honestly frightening to me. If it continues, PvP will be unavoidable, and I'd rather that not be the case.

Male Human Druid

Sorry if things are being held up by me; it's been one hell of a week for me at work, and I've been super exhausted. I also don't really know if Tlugos is going to be responding to what Rissi did before Urf says anything. I'll probably attempt to post something tomorrow regardless.

"When making a full-attack action with a ranged weapon, you can fire one additional time this round at your highest bonus. All of your attack rolls take a –2 penalty when using Rapid Shot."

I agree with BC4Realz, it seems he would just get the extra attack, for a total of -4 to hit. UNLESS you read full-round action as different from making a full-attack action. In which case you wouldn't. I'm gonna suggest to let the GM make a decision here.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but with the way spell combat specifically calls out a melee weapon and rapid shot calls out a ranged weapon, by design, it's impossible to use both.

I've actually already made a custom race for a tabletop campaign with some friends, so I could just import that. I'm a little hesitant to post it in full, though, since, as per the terms of service agreement, I don't really want Paizo to have the ability to claim it as their own and not credit me.

I'll dot my interest here, and will probably bring in a goblin cavalier of the cockatrice order I've had in mind for a while. It's not so much that he's actually in the order, but more he's convinced he's in it since one of their order gave him a fake badge just to make him go away, so he's out to make his name be all glorious and big. Probably going to go with the Emissary archetype, but not sure just yet. As far as what his mount would be, that would be up to GM discretion. If he can't have a goblin dog (which would be easy to understand why), he may go for a tiger, antelope, or something similar. I'm willing to work it out with the GM.

It's an us vs. them initiative block. So as soon as the enemies (the skeletons) move, you are free to move.

Okay, I didn't quite understand that. I've never done anything like that before. I guess I should do something, though he can't really damage the skellys.

Male Human Druid

Made it back home, but I'm wiped out, so I'll get back to things in the morning, if I'm up in the initiative. Not sure what Mimazaran can do against skellys, though.

Male Human Druid

I'm away from the house, so I can't get on Roll20, but it'll be one of the first things I do when I get back in about five hours.

Male Human Druid

Sorry, I got called into work, so I'm going to have to respond either late tonight or tomorrow morning. Try not to proceed too far without me, if you can.

Keeping my fingers crossed that Mimazaran will make the cut. I really want him to prove that he can be just as productive as any human, if not more so, especially to those Hellknights...well, maybe not to them, they're kinda scary, but to the rest of Cheliax!

Man, with every passing post, it makes me paranoid that Mimazaran is going to get passed up in the polls for consideration.

I guess I forgot about those for Mimazaran. I guess his 2 would go into Sleight of Hand and Appraise. I'll have to remember that if I get to make the alias proper.

CoT Character Application, Mimazaran

Alright, doing the quick rundown of Mimazaran, the adopted child of famous actor Victor Statham (or some other known human NPC that can be inserted here), known for acting with shadow puppets that some consider to be the real thing, wanting to change something for the better in Cheliax to make a better name for himself. Background/Description:
To this day, no one knows how the Wayang known as Mimazaran found his way into a place like Cheliax; a part of Mimazaran himself doesn't really want to know. However he came to the land, he was found in a wrapping of blankets by the well-known dramatic actor, Victor Statham, as he was returning to his abode from his melodramatic performance at one of the various noble houses. The baby was obviously non-human, and though he knew the stigma around Chelish lands, he lived alone and wanted more out of life than performing for snooty, ignorant nobles, so he took the boy in and cared for him. He kept him a secret for many years, teaching him the ways of acting and how to fit in with Chelish society, as well as the acting profession. True to his Wayang heritage, he found that using shadows to tell stories suited him best, and even managed to put on shadow puppet shows that made the very few to know of his existence believe that there was a true show going on in front of them.

Ultimately, when Mimazaran came to 18 years of age, he was discovered, and Victor's fears of the stigma came to realization. While no one outright shunned him, he found himself requested less and less for performances. At first, he seemed to handle it well, taking the work that he could over the next several years, still providing for his adopted son. However, with the occasional letter of disapproval, to the Hellknights constantly pestering him, week after week, month after month, Victor could take his life no more. He wrote a last will and testament, leaving what little fortune he could keep to Mimazaran, who he truly did care deeply for, then, in true melodramatic fashion, stepped off the roof of his house, landing on the hard concrete below, ending his own life.

Mimazaran certainly felt responsible for his adoptive father's suicide, knowing that it was his existence that caused him so much turmoil in the later years of his life. Rather than mope, sobbing in the corner of his late father's house until death came for him next, he knew that he had to do something. Rather than accept his fate as a second-class citizen of Cheliax, he would prove to the society that his kind had something to provide, as well, and could easily be recognized as such. He wasn't much to look at, being short with grey skin, thin arms and legs, with long nails and nose, yellowish teeth, and dark beady eyes, but he knew that he could do it. All he needed to know was where to start; he figured that his shadow puppets and his father's teachings would be a good place to start.

Non-humans are rare in Westcrown, though this race's shadow affinity may mean that such a character could operate effectively. If selected, play at your own risk (of having Hellknights kick down your door and drag you off for "questioning"). Also, not a lot of bears running around in the city, so...yeah.

Actually sounds like a lot of fun; playing out a questioning could be entertaining, assuming the Wayang doesn't manage to offend any of the Hellknights in the process. Probably would help that he'd be a bard, but still, not really going to go out of my way to cause trouble. Quite the opposite, really.

I'll dot my interest, as I've kind of wanted to try out this campaign. I'm not the most experienced player, but I've done quite a few other campaigns before. I'd like to be a Wayang Shadow Puppeteer bard, built for stealthy buffing and illusory disruption, as well as using shadow puppets to try and make enemies think they're suddenly being attacked by a bear.

Male Human Druid

I don't know much about it, other than I have no idea where 9 went. My computer crashed one day, then it told me to get Windows 10 on my dashboard. I never even got 8; been on 7 for a while.

Also, sorry about it taking me so long to get things rolling again. Hopefully I can be more consistent for the rest of the week, but I can't make any guarantees.

Male Human Druid

Yeah, Happy Memorial Day. Sorry about my absence and not continuing with the story for the past few days. A lot of things have been going on behind the scenes, and I haven't been able to make the time. It's only because I realized that I hadn't mentioned anything that brings me here. I don't know when I can get back to it, but rest assured that I will. It'll probably be sometime in the near future, but I can't say for sure.

Male Human Druid

It's still fairly light outside, just during sunset, so I don't see a real need for Mikhail to use Night-Eye. But, yes, there's some light and sound emitted from spell casting, but not enough from anything other than Destruction spells that would draw any notice from anyone more than two feet away.

And please, I've been trying to emphasize this, but there's no need to be so overly cautious right now. Just do what you want to do; there's no "messing up" right now, as I have contingencies for just about any situation that could possibly come up, save for just going to the guard and admitting you're assassins and want to go to jail.

Male Human Druid

It depends on your skill in lockpicking on how often the pick will break. I will actually roll a secret die for it, since it's hard to determine without a random chance. Just don't think too hard about it, though; main point is to try it out and see how it goes. As far as money for right now, it doesn't really matter too much. Given the backstory provided, it's safe to say that Mikhail may have some money, but not enough to buy the house for sale. Perhaps enough to buy a sturdy weapon if he wanted, or a few potions/poisons.

Male Human Druid

You don't have to think so hard about it; just say what you want Mikhail to do, and let me worry about how it should go. But, yes, stealth is the call for that.

Anyway, you two should probably come up with a game plan right about now. You don't have to worry about it being out in the open; no one is really paying attention to them.

Male Human Druid

And I just realized that I messed up and Babette didn't say which city they're going to. It should've been said they were going to Whiterun. I think I had it said, then had to redo it because I didn't like a line, and forgot to put the city back in. Apologies.

Male Human Druid

I have made a decision now, since I am now getting frustrated with the pace of the game; I will not wait on anyone that needs to post anymore. The game will continue without anyone that isn't posting, and they will remain as behind as they choose to be.

Male Human Druid

Pretty much what Demetrian just said. I will admit that I would like it to be a little faster, myself, but I can understand that there may be real-life issues that keep certain people from posting more frequently' I, myself, have been having internet problems on my end for several days now, with it only having been an hour ago that I got a reliable connection back. I honestly think it will speed up a little once contracts start getting handed out, but for now, I am alright with waiting at least a week before moving things forward an inch. When no one has posted anything for more than two weeks is when I start to get frustrated.

Alright, now for the dissection. First and foremost, the backstory makes it sound like you want your character to be ancient, which I can find no justification for it anywhere within the backstory. As stated in the OP, this is meant to take 50 years after the events of Skyrim, so there would be no reason to believe Winterhold is the capital; it would be common knowledge that it's Solitude. Also, there would be no test like what Astrid gave in Skyrim; initiation would simple be to kill someone else as ordered by the Speaker, like how Rufio was in Oblivion. Therefore, there would not be the three tied up targets in a secluded shack that you were dragged to in your sleep. Also last, but not least, I would need some serious justification for having a Daedric dagger in his possession, as those are not supposed to be very easy to come by, seeing as they are literally made in the realm of Oblivion, not on the mortal plane.

Have some damn patience, will you? I do not have the time nor the priority of interests to dissect your character right now, and I don't need you constantly posting in this thread until you get something you're satisfied with. Just right now, your character is not accepted, and he must be one of the ten core races, as per the rules I posted in the OP. This means no Maomer.

Male Human Druid

Sorry it took so long for me to get to responding to all you guys now that everyone has posted an intro. Work ran late since we were so busy, then I had to pick up my sister from where she works, since a friend had to take her to work due to car troubles, and she needed me to take her back to her place. I'll be making two separate posts, so just sit tight with me if you were waiting.

Male Human Druid

Huh...well, I guess I picked a really bad time to start, after all. Oh, well, hopefully it'll pick up with the two slackers.

Yup, the game is now open! Please, introduce your characters to each other outside the door, maybe mention how they even got there, what they may have been doing before, and so on. The next step after that is to walk inside and out of that blistering cold!

Judging from what I've gathered from all of your PMs, it seems like starting this evening would be best. I will attempt to start the game around 5:00 Central Standard Time, which, for reference, is about six hours from now.

Alright, good to see you two popping in, but here's how I want to do the headcount: I want each of you to send me a PM with your alias telling me what time of day you'll be most available tomorrow, as well as any last-minute questions you might have for me. I'm actually working a longer shift today, so I won't be able to answer them right away, but I will get to them before the game starts tomorrow.

I hope so, too. I will do a head count on Saturday, as the game will start on Sunday, regardless of whether or not the two open slots are filled.

What I've decided is that I will wait a week from tomorrow if the spots aren't filled by then, and start with the four already accepted with the spots still available to be filled when applicants come. I can work with four people for the time being, and tweak some later events should the number remained unchanged.
