Inquisitors are waaaay better skill based characters (tons of Lore, Stealth as a Class Skills, Social Skills like Bluff and Sense Motive...basically everything you need to play the concept of Batman). They are intimidation /gods/ ('I'm Batman!'). They aren't full casters, but have lots of good buff and debuff spells, as well as litanies. Their Judgements are way awesome. And they start with Medium armor.
Besides Weapon Focus for the +1 to hit, is there anything I can do to increase my damage/offense? As I see it, with positioning, divine favor, Justice, Bane, and Shaking them before hand with the Enforcer ability... I can pull from a +12 to hit (my normal) up to a +26 to hit. My damage varies from 1d6+7 (my normal) to 4d6+13 (with all the same buffs as above.
Hello, I'm trying something else instead of my Metal Oracle (she just couldn't get the band back together). Lvl 7 Inquisitor, Garuda Aaisimar
Traits:
Inquisition: Valor (toss up between this, Conversion, Archon Subdomain, or Restoration subdomain since we don't have a dedicated healer) Feats:
Teamwork Feats:
I'd considered the Monster Lore Feat for even more Identification goodness. Are there better options? Spells:
We have a character in the party who can give us morale bonuses which is why I'm hesitant to go with Heroism..though I'm still kind of thinking about it. Any recommendations would be appreciated!
Looking at my best case point builds, I'm still not sure between Human and Samsaran Human:
Samsaran:
So, the human has more skill points (4 per level vs 3 per level)
The Samsaran gets to add some broken Paladin spells to the list but is weaker (18 at 7 19 at 8), has 3 skill points per level, and a -1 to Will Saves. Are those extra spells worth that cost?
Yeah... I didn't realize how good. You should have told me they get the bonus spells like humans did and I'd have been more sold from the start! Lead Blades is still a 1st level spell for Metal Oracles... I just don't get it until 2nd level (because otherwise I wouldn't get to cast it till later as I can only cast 1st level spells at 2nd level). Here are some keepers I've found:
I suppose the next question is whether that ability allows you to poach from more than one spell list, or if you have to pick one and stick with it.
Hmmm... I'll consider the Lame Curse. Ok, Two-Hander it is! I'd originally considered going Falchion, but the Crit bonus doesn't seem to compensate for the overall lack of damage. I've just discovered Angel-Blooded Aasimar (+2 Str & Cha!!!) and Samsara (who can dump Int and Wis to 7 and then back up to 9 thanks to their +2's for 23 points on attribute build). Now, of the two, I love the extra spells that the Samsara gets for Favored Class... I'm just concerned that a 16 Str won't be enough for a Warrior Oracle.
Thanks for that...good stuff. What is SoF? Shield of Faith? Reactionary sounds good... Dangerously Curious also looks good. Is Metal Oracle the way to go? I like some of the others, but their spell lists don't look as good. Are there any Archtype changes I should consider? The ones I looked at felt kind of weaksauce. Since I'm level 7 I'll definitely have a magic weapon and armor. Sword and Board or Two Hander?
Hey I'm the player of the Oracle in question. Thanks for all the advice! Dex is 10. Hmmm...what traits should I take then? What would the sorcerer bloodline add that world help a fighter oracle and be worth the feat investment? Don't worry...I'm all over the Lead Blades! ;-) I was looking at Divine Favor to offset the mid bab. Is it not going to help? Also a bit worried about saves...are they too low? Thanks again for all the help! |
