War of Towers as it is now is not that far off from being a decent system for engaging in meaningful PvP.

* Obviously it will be much better when instead of just towers we're fighting over varied PoI's each with different effects on the owning settlements, but that's a ways off.
* Defenders should have an advantage and require a smaller force to win a defense, this is currently not the case.
* I'd also like to see an alert system for the defending companies (Ideascale Tower Capture alert). I not sure if I'd want this long-term (once towers change to PoI's) because perhaps people should be able to ninja PoI's if the owning company isn't paying attention. But for now, with it just being towers, and the smaller population of players, the owning group should get an alert.

Do you have any other suggestions for improving War of Towers? What are your thoughts on the current mechanics?

So I bought EE for my wife and I during the kickstarter. We're thinking about playing but don't know really what there is to do in the game. When we played Alpha before we just ran around for a few evenings and farmed goblins, trained some skills (which we didn't really understand what they did), and never got into crafting because it seemed difficult to get started with. I logged in last weekend and there was no tutorial quest, I was outside of a town with trainers (selling an obtuse number of skills). I don't want to have to study for hours outside of the game just to get a clue on what to do.

So, is there anything that would be enjoyable for us to do as a duo now? Or is the game still to raw and we should hold off for awhile?

Sorry if this is posted elsewhere, I haven't found a clear answer. I was a backer of 2 accounts ($175) + other stuff ($100) during the kickstarter campaign. Do I get access next month or is it sometime later in between the Q3/2014 and Q1/2016 dates?

Recently I've had extra time where I could be gaming, but I can't bring myself to play anything. The only game I have a desire to play is PFO. But I can't, until EA. What should I do to pass the time? I just want to log in, it's killing me.

I followed the instructions sent out in the email about an hour ago. On my paizo.com pledge manager it says information has been sent to goblinworks.com. But I cannot log in to goblinworks.com so I'm stuck. Something doesn't work with your overly complex process.

It's fall 2013. Just wondering if the simulator is out and where I can download it? Thanks!

So I was pledged for $275.
I upped my pledge to $395.
Kickstarter only charged my CC $275. What to do? I really don't want to miss out on the add-ons I added the $120 for.

We are bringing this one to it's knees.

Ok folks we are down to 11 hours.
$879k with 6900 backers comes out to approximately $17.50 per backer increase we need to push this project through.
Everyone look for a $10-$20 add-on to bump up your pledge (preferably multiple). Even if there is nothing you are particularly interested in, consider the add-on adventurer or alliance packs you will be able to sell in game. Or, just bump your pledge out of the goodness of your heart.
We all want this KS to succeed, and it is extremely doable with very little extra commitment from all of us!

Ready.. set.. GO KS!

Are the details of the player and alliance packs and whats in them? I see options on the add-ons for additional player and alliance packs.. these type of add-ons are confusing.

So I'm playing through a popular MMORPG's latest expansion. Most towns I stop in, finish a handful of quests, and within hours I'm moving on to the next. How did devs ever believe such a model would be sustainable / profitable.. and if it is, sandboxes will be 10x more profitable. I'm fine with setting up camp and staying in the same area for months, as long as I have quality player interaction and there are fun things to do. I just don't get the themepark mindset or why it ever became popular, it's such a waste of dev resources. We could have 10x the games with 10x the quality if everyone just started with sandbox and stuck with it.

Big milestone almost reached!

I personally enjoy games where travel is meaningful and takes some time. This gives more shape to the local communities and I think would be especially important in a sandbox. It also makes exploration a lot more meaningful as it takes time to get around the map. I could also however, see mages at later stages gaining teleportation spells (with the distance of the teleport directly correlated to the skill of the mage). Then those with the teleport ability could charge for their services, giving another avenue for "meaningful player interaction".

Has there been any word on travel in PFO and how it will work? Hopefully no more "binding stones" or "worm holes".
