Hyper-Intelligent Gorilla Psion 1

Sorry for not posting much. Mooshy's game has priority for me and I've been too busy with moving.

Hyper-Intelligent Gorilla Psion 1

Tublat has been here so many times he could walk around with his eyes closed. Door was me, ceiling wasn't open when I was here last. Tublat admits, this had been his solitary confinement cell. You gather he also didn't scribble on the wall, much too intricate anyway for his massive fingers.

Ambush by dropgate most likely, but not certain. Guards, you have keys? Much easier than this again. Tublat inquires to the group of cowards up there.

Door was tough, bring me keys.

Hyper-Intelligent Gorilla Psion 1

A level below, and I've just warned you guys of a probable ambush.

Hyper-Intelligent Gorilla Psion 1

Puny creatures down there feel the danger, ready to pounce. Meerkat can scratch out eye of even strongest lion. Tublat tries to carry across to the party.
Stay Alert: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (1, 6) + 2 = 9

You not lions. he notes.

Ramonde, you clear minds of charmed, why not for these vermin? he asks, referring to the prisoners caught by the madness.

Tublat accurately knows his way around the majority of the grounds of the Oubliette, especially where this pit leads to. He knows the vermin is hiding there, but they could be in a few places... Where would they be...? Discern Realities: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (6, 2) + 2 = 10

Obviously "What should I be on the lookout for?" Additional questions: "What here is not what it appears to be?" and "What happened here recently?"

Hyper-Intelligent Gorilla Psion 1

First of all, thanks guys!
Second of all, sorry for not responding to all this since Tuesday, Wednesday was madness for me.
I'll try to get a good post in today, since I've got about 5 hours between lectures I should be able to squeeze one out :P

Hyper-Intelligent Gorilla Psion 1

I know I've barely been posting, but I don't know what to post. I'm feeling a bit like the odd man out and whenever I do post I get ignored in all ways but the DM responding to my roll. I don't want to leave but quite frankly I don't know how to fit in with the current group.

Any ideas in what I could do would be appreciated. I feel like I did something with the net, but I might as well not have done, because nobody responded... That was really my last interaction in this Campaign.

Hyper-Intelligent Gorilla Psion 1

Why do I only hear of all this now? My turf been cursed and none of you told me?! Tublat is disappointed in these men, they should have come to him.

Hyper-Intelligent Gorilla Psion 1

Tublat is happy he has been lagging behind, much too preoccupied enjoying the mental image of scurrying monkeys in distress because of his presence when he hears Yizid of all people. He telepathically attempts to forward the warning. Aid: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (3, 4) + 1 = 8

If that doesn't work he'll attempt to blow it out before it hits anyone.
Telekinetic strike: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (4, 3) + 2 = 9
Unfortunately it still hits little Ramonde.

New subjects will not be poached.

Hyper-Intelligent Gorilla Psion 1

Ok, weird way of working it, seems like an odd restriction. Maybe because it's a homebrew class to begin with. Ah well sure, make it H&S then.

Hyper-Intelligent Gorilla Psion 1

Silly little man's teeth not made for biting living prey. Bite damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Ow!, there's more than a little bite to this one's bark.

FINISH HIM!
Telekinetic strike: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (6, 5) + 2 = 13
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2

Hyper-Intelligent Gorilla Psion 1

They starve from magic. They are confused over hunger. Dispel magic and they will not attack anymore.

Aka:BARD... SING!

Tublat grabs the nearest prisoner by the leg and slams him into the ground.

H&S groundpound: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (5, 2) + 1 = 8
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2

PUNY... MADMAN

Hyper-Intelligent Gorilla Psion 1

Before the prisoner sent flying by Takesh have a chance to land they are hit once more by a second blast of force, but this one smacks it straight into the ground.

Telekinetic Strike: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (5, 5) + 2 = 12
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3

Troublemakers must be punished. Guests are greeted NICELY! A disembodied voice rings out, seemingly coming from everywhere before you realise it's coming from inside your head.

Before you appears a massive figure, a Gorilla dressed in leather with some sort of ornamental necklace. It strikes its chest with both of its fists as it roars.

I.. Tublat.. You... Welcome! Tublat roars in greeting, or is he saying you should thank him for his aid? You're not quite sure.

Tublat steps up to the nearest madman and strikes with a backhanded fist, knocking the weakling off his feet.

Hack and Smash: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (3, 5) + 1 = 9
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1

STAY DOWN!

Do Yizid and I get any bonuses to our attacks for rolling double 6s? It's not as uncommon as a natural 20 but it's still nice when it happens :)

Eehm, it's not equally uncommon as a Natural 20 indeed, that one is 1 in 20, double 6 is 1 in 36...

Hyper-Intelligent Gorilla Psion 1

Oh, missed that this was open...

Hyper-Intelligent Gorilla Psion 1

I'll generally tend to have at least 1 line of actual speaking for every longer interaction Tublat has. So whenever he speaks more than two sentences with his mind, expect him to say something with his mouth as well.

Hyper-Intelligent Gorilla Psion 1

I can make telepathic connections freely, since "Tublat... can't...talk...well."

Would that be alright? Cause otherwise I need to roll wisdom every time I try to talk.

Hyper-Intelligent Gorilla Psion 1

Proposed alignment: "Chaotic: I defy anyone who would try to give me orders."

Proposed bonds:
Ropetail smells more like prey than a hunter.
Gorn's mind is so simple, it hurts to read.
Takesh is puny and foolish, but amusing to me.
I suspect Yizid might be afraid of me, Kas must have told him of me.
I have seen the dreams of Ramonde and from what I've seen, he digusts me.

These will have to do for now. I have noticed a trend that nobody seems to value Wisdom, funny.

Oh, just remembered, do I need to come up with a racial move or is that up to the DM?

Hyper-Intelligent Gorilla Psion 1

I know Tublat wouldn't do any 'hiding', but most of the below-the-surface going-ons he would have the idea that they are happening, he would sense to keep them on the last place in his priorities of subjugation though. As soon as this group of adventurers comes in, Tublat will immediately go to greet them. It's one of his jobs as boss of this place to welcome the newbies and show them how things work around here.

Hyper-Intelligent Gorilla Psion 1

So, the only answer you didn't get from me yet is where Tublat is from. He doesn't know what time of year it is, he can't aptly track time in here. It's like continuous winter to him.

Tublat is originally from a far away jungle known to him as Homewoods, but others refer to it as the Rainforest of Isla Plata, known for its Silverback population. It is quite a large territory off the coast of the Silver City of Argus. The city looks like it's literally made of Silver. This is not exactly true, it is a mixture of different metals, mostly sheeted anyway. Loads of glass everywhere.

The jungle itself is only inhabited by tribes of people, as well as many, many beasts. There are rumors of dinosaurs in the area. Tublat didn't live there long enough to confirm those rumors.

Tublat was cast out on an early, failed attempt at overthrowing the herd leader Kerchak. Poachers snatched him up soon after and he was dragged away to the Silver City, there loads of experiments were done and his latent psionic abilities were uncovered. Everyone in the facility went mad in about a week, Tublat walked out and set off to wander the Earth, he went on his way to find the highest of leaders throughout the land with the ambition of overthrowing them and becoming the highest of leaders in the world.

One thing lead to another and when rumors spread to Tublat of Kas the Bloody he went out to try and overthrow the guy, but Tublat got beat once more. Now stuck in Gaol, he has let everyone know that he runs this place and Kas is the only willing one around who can take Tublat out when he's pissed off with someone. Since Kas hasn't been around much, Tublat has accrued quite the death toll.

A mountain of ice submerged in water, we only see the smallest part of Tublat. He wanders under the Three of Eyes.

Over Fizzwiddle hangs the laughing man. What awaits a gnome on the night of such a potent portent?

Tublat is on the other table now, got pushed in favor of not having two fighters or something like that. It was weird, but it was supposed to work out this way.

Hyper-Intelligent Gorilla Psion 1

Tublat is boss of this joint. None guarddare mess with Tublat, none inmate dumb enough either. Tublat do well with fur coat in cold Gaol.

Tublat right hand man was guard called Henry, but he got himself transferred to a different joint when Tublat found he had side business with Tublat as 'muscle'. Tublat boss, not Henry! Tublat not care for coin, only being boss.

Tublat feel new group come in Gaol, Tublat lead them around. Tublat good leader, or else.

Only Kas could ever beat Tublat, he's why Tublat in Gaol. Is Kas' personal prison or some.

Tublat let group in for now, but when group leave, Tublat come with them.

Tublat is probably not the strongest, but anyone stronger just lets him believe it. Tublat knows, he can sense it, but he likes playing boss so as long as they let him, he's the King Kong of this prison.

Monday for mine, don't like starting over the weekend.

Maybe we could at least start discussion? Or would that be considered 'starting'?

Alright then, though I'll have to tone down the brutality of Tublat ever so slightly. Either that or he seriously owes one of the other members.
I do have the thought that Tublat is an inmate of the prison from ages long past and is roaming freely.
There's ways we can go with this, I can do this.

I prefer Loopy due to connection and I think the character better fits the story. Having the campaigns cross over once in a while could be fun as well, no?

I'm willing to go either way, but I would prefer Loopy for now as well. I would have offered to DM, but I've only DMd the start of a campaign irl before now.

Still smiling, she turns to look past the four at the bar, and spot the beast in the corner. "Can't say I have much experience with the creatures, dearie. They don't have winter where they're from."

Shows how much you know. Winter we have, at the top of the mountains, there it be winter forever. You hear in the back of your mind.

Don't...Like...Snow the Gorilla mutters. You get the sense that he's much better at speaking through the mind than out loud, but he's trying to act it off.

Okay so that introduction was more of an in-character way to introduce my submission. Am I correct in understanding that we are all gathering to kill someone? Basically we are a big assassin group?

Anyway, going to properly RP with the rest of the group then, feel like if he's going to be a part of the group he'd only do it because this employer has somehow established dominance over the Great Ape, he's not too happy about having to do this and he's not going to pretend either.

Patience running short. Target puny. Tublat doesn't need you all if all you do is drink and talk.

Let's... Move...

I feel like some people have lost track of the original setup a bit? Which way are we going then?

Across the room, you spy a figure. Rippling muscles, several scars, and a crooked nose. "ME THOG!" It bellows. "ME SMASH YOU!"

It's just some muscular lug, you think. This'll be easy enough. You take your bow in hand and nock an arrow, ready to dance circles around him - and suddenly, you feel a great impact at your side, and you go flying across the room, landing in a sprawl across the ground.

Puny human. You take Thog for fool? The brute's voice seems to be whispering at the back of your mind. As you painfully bring your head back up to look at where they were when you entered, you see they have now retrieved a chair, a keg and a tankard, and are heartily enjoying having them. Me not feel like do much. You hear in your mind again. You smash self instead.

Suddenly your hand is moving on its own. You try to make it move as you will, but it continues regardless. You try to stop it with your other hand, but it refuses to cooperate. The hand clasps your dagger, and draws it out. Thog say bye bye.

The last thing you see is Thog leaning back in his seat, starting to drink directly from the keg as your dagger plunges into your neck and your blood spills everywhere.

That is almost exactly what I'm going for. (Also yeah I wanted to dump either Wisdom or Intelligence, but definitely charisma as well, the class just happens to use Wisdom by design.)

A gorilla psion. And you wanted to call it Grodd. I don't know what's more amusing to me - that fact you actually did that, or that the "hyper-intelligent gorilla" has such a shoddy intelligence.

That's hyper-intelligent in comparison to other gorillas. As for the name, it's just a character hook that I kinda clung onto when I started thinking of classes I still wanted to play. If I'm going to be telepathic, I don't want to go the standard, predictable route doing so. (So I go the first alternative, ah well, it works.)

Hello puny small ones! I, Tublat, am ready to lead this pack! Problem with that? Fight me!

Since Grodd is a name already taken, plus I don't know enough, here's a big brute Psion Gorilla with a different name you may or may recognise, depending on your knowledge of Disney animated series.
