Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

So the first rouns I pretty much can do nothong right?

Truaks lays on the ground motionless.

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

I do have a torch, but my great axe is a two handed weapon.

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

not dead at -1a hp?

Just as Truaks starts feel a sense of something evil in the room he hears the terrible sound of kobolds.

Before he is able to turn around and face them the sound of their voices is drowned out as he hears the snap of several crossbow strings and their arrows flying through the air. Time begins to slow as a pain sears through his back and he falls to the floor. His world goes black and he falls into unconsciousness as Death's fngers try to take his last breathe, all before he ever has a chance to say his prayers to Iomedae.

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

"oh holy... that smell. I'm not quite sure the cause of it, but with a fire still burning whoever was here can't be far off..."

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

Armed and ready for whatever, Truaks starts walking towards the sining hall.

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

With a hand on his axe and the other on the Crest of Iomedae Trauaks speaks.

"I will lead the way if no one wants to volunteer. Or is there someone who might rather scout it out first?"

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

Good to know. After thinking about it I ended up just using an intimidate check to make him piss himself.

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

Agreed

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

I am curious, not for this game, but another one I'm in, what are the guidelines of non lethal atracks on a party member. My character is feeling like another character is treating him like hes dumb. He is, but is also a valuable member to the party. He is chaotic evil, and a goblin, but I'm not sure how that would normally play out. Besides i feel like it might get the game moving along. Thoughts?

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

I'll make a check even though I only speak common, just to see if I can hear or see anything.

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

"I think we should take a look into the dining hall before moving forward through the mine."

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

Sooo... what's up?

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

"It is unfortunate Grun, but yes I have seen my fair share of wounds along my travels. Some my own, others not."

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

"Well, just from looking at the body one thing is for certain, Judging by the rate of decay on the body he's been here for about 2 weeks. He was definitely suffering from the plague before he died as well. Grun, I'd recommend you don't go near it."

Truaks looks back at Grun to see his reaction to this news. He Continues.

"I can also tell that the wounds show that these punctures were caused by crude crossbow bolts."

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

Fort Save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

"I believe Tamir is right, the dining hall should be our first destination. As for the dead fellow, lets have a look..."

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

"Who has our map? Does it give any clue as which way we should head?"

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

perception: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (10) - 2 = 8

Using the light cast off from Tamir's torch, Truaks tries to keep a watchful eye.

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

Nvm seems to be working now.

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

Anyone else having issues submitting posts on the gameplay forum?

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

"The time for waiting has passed. Let us go forth."

Truaks follows behind the two into the mine.

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

"It is true the axe is not Iomedae's divine weapon. But this axe here was once used to try and kill an innocent boy. A man killed his attackers, took the axe and trained the boy to use it properly. That boy was me. I enblazened the crest of Iomedae on her head and named her 'Rebirth'. Iomedae, doesn't seem to mind my decision."

He cracks what looks like a smile.

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

Even if you restart and clear your cookies/cache... whoops :)

Greetings green haired lady. I am Truaks Demonslay defender and protector for the Church of Iomedae, I along with my companions are here to help the town of Duviks Pass. We mean you no harm.

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

Upon waking Truaks spends an houropen in prayerto and meditation with Iomedae hoping to strengthen his well and resolve as the weight of what must be done looms over him. With his cloak on and his hood covering most of his head he joins his fellow adventurers walking amidst the group with a solumn expression, clutching his holy symbol. He is not fearful so much as just aware of the importance of what must be done. He speaks in low tones in what people can assume are prayers, but what he is saying can noy be made out.

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

"I'm sorry Grun, maybe you missed my introduction earlier with Mr. Doverspeak; My name is Truaks Demonslay: Protector and Defender for thr church of Iomedae.

You will have to forgive me, I guess Half-Orcs reputations tend to precede themselves and my own experiences happen to lend to the same notion. I have always been willing though to keep an open mind and maybe you will change my thoughts towards Half-Orcs, but that has yet to be seen.

Melchior, a pleasure. I believe we will all have our fair share of fighting once this is all said and done,
He wears a slight smile, but I am afraid I will have to decline your guys offer of a drink. I will gladly join you for the company, sadly though I am not much of a drinker and I already had a mug of ale earlier that had some unwanted side effects."

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

"Yes, lets do go over introductions. I'm afraid you know who I am, but I haven't the slightest idea who you are, or what brings a half-orc here.

As for me I mean only to serve Iomedae and do as she, and the church, request of me."

Truaks says all of this with a hint of attitude suggesting he is above the half-orc.

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

With an expressionless face, Truaks waits patiently for Grun to finish with his line of questioning. Once he is done he decides to speak up.

"I'm sorry Mr. Doverspeak, if it seems as if this... fellow's questions felt a little more like accusations. It seems even the more civilized of the Half-Orcs still tend to be a little rough around the social edges.

On behalf of the Church of Iomedae, let me introduce myself personally, I am Truaks Demonslay defender and protector for the Church of Iomedae. Though we may have all come for different reasons,"

He looks over to his friend Tamir with a smile.

"... I can assure you we are all here to help the town in its time of need. I know I speak for myself, but hopefully my other fellow adventurers as well, we will do all within our power to solve this quandary you are all in."

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

"A half-orc you say? Very interesting..."

As Truaks stands up he looks over to Tamir who appears to be passed out on the table.

"I'm glad I didn't order whatever it is that he has been drinking. I thank you barkeep for the help."

Truaks leaves a note for Tamir basically telling hin he is off to the mayors place. At the end of the note it states, "Beware my friend, there is a half-orc wandering about."

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

Truaks calls over the bartender one last time before heading out of the bar.

"First allow me to say that was quite the drink... secondly, may I ask what seems to be the real issue behind the lack of clean water in town if your wells really haven't dried up? I hope I'm not being rude, bit my associate and myself have come to this town to help and if you could point us in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. "

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

Sorry I've been MIA the past few days guys. In the middle of a move. I should be back to posting Wednesday.

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

I only have religion and nobility sadly.

"I'm afraid I don't know much of the local culture or history of the town, but I will gladly assist you in seeking some more information."

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

"I guess it hassss been longer than I thought since I last had a drinks."

Starting the feel the beginning effects of the Ale Truaks pushes the drink aside.

"I suppose I'm not really that tirsty anymore. Well, without really knowing what we are dealing with here I suppose an alliance is a good idea and good company is always welcome. I must say though, while I may not be here for fortune any reward recieved I would gladly take my share with me to the Church of Iomedae."

He says as a smile comes across his face.

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

Fort Save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

Truaks lowers his head and closes his eyes as he tries to recall a painful memory. One he has told many times, but still ever difficult to share.

"As a child I was attacked and subsequently forgot everything prior to it. I would've died had not a monk saved my life. He left me with the Church of Iomedae and they raised me to be a protector of the church and for Iomedae. So I guess you could say a sense of commitmemt and duty drive me. But more specifically it is the church that sent me here. They had heard of the troubles the town was suffering from and wanted to lend any help they could. Thus, I am here. But let's not talk of such solemn things."

Truaks puts on a smile and takes another drink.

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

what do I roll to see if Truaks gets tipsy off a small glass of miners ale? He's not one to normally drink haha.

"That is quite the uh, bottle, of wine. I must admit Tamir, I don't normally drink much else other than water and milk, unless as part of a holy communion with Iomedae."

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

Doesn't bother me so no worries, I've just gamed with some people who do the whole, "how can you go outside if you never said you opened the door?" So I didn't want to assume anytging on Tamir's part.

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

"Well, I supppse if the town is unable provide any other nurishment, I guess I'll take a small glass of whatever is less likely to leave me with head pains in the morning."

Spoiler:
I know we didn't get to really roleplay it because of the unaligned timing to start the game, but is it safe to assume Tamir and Truaks we're able to tell the other was not a local, struck up a dialogue, discovered they both we're here for the same reason, and developed a sense of trust with the other? I guess I'm going to continue on with that since they are sitting together, but being new to PbP let me now otherwise Nameless if it would normally be handled differently.

After waiting for Tamir to order his drink, Truaks watches the bartender closely as he leaves to ensure he is out of earshot.

"I'm getting a very strong sense that he is not being completely honest with us. It doesn't make sense that the town well would be completely dry yet they are still functioning, be it not very healthily..."

He sort of breaks down to a whisper with the last part and looks around, clearly not trying to offend anyone, but also with a little bit of disgust in his eyes. Though he serves the Church of Iomedae he sees himself more of a fighter for the cause rather than a healer, which is why he didn't become a cleric. With this sort of background the thought that an entire town could be carrying a disease is unsettling to him as he tries to remain as clean as possible.

"Cleaniness is next to Godliness."

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

Truaks senses his unease and asks the bartender, Dare I ask what you have available if not water?" I'll make a Sense Motive roll,Sense Motive: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

Word has reached the Church of Iomedae that the Town known simply as Duviks Pass is in a need of help. The preist could think of anyone better to serve Iomedae than Truaks Demonslay; an adult male standing roughly 5'9" with silverish blonde hair, blue eyes, light colored skin, and wearing a chain mail shirt covered by his blue traveling cloak. Strapped to his back he dons his mighty Greataxe emblazoned with the crest of Iomedae. Off the side of his hip swings his wooden symbol of Iomedae that never leaves his side. He appears to be extremely clean and well shaven considering the trek he had to make to Dunviks Pass, but other than that has no other distinguishable features.

Arriving to Dunviks Pass with several other travelers all riding horses he dismounts, handing his horse off to what appears to be a guide and pays him some coinage for use of the horse and guidance along the way. Before leaving though he asks him to point him to the local Inn. Truaks makes his way there to grab some food and a room, but not before spending some time in prayer and solitude.

Truaks is ready to lend his aid wherever it is needed.
