"Let's not go in the main doors, the side door (north) would be easier to sneak in, don't you think. I'm sure Dillan can deal with the door, as he's done before." Tre says looking back at the kennels and the dog, he loads another bolt in the crossbow, just in case.

Tre will take the time to use the university library to study the making of golems to discover what they can about the flesh golem, its weaknesses and strengths. Using any information gleaned he will see if any magics he knows might help them. He seeks out a place to buy scrolls, before they journey on.

Listening to the growling creature Tre momentarily lets his mind wander almost trancelike, feeling the source of the sound, letting each growl get closer to discovering the creature. Assuming Knowledge(Nature) 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26 (arcana +12, planes +11)

Tre's nose wrinkles in disgust at the smell. He nods and watches Dillan move into the shadows, and as he wacthes he queitly casts a spell. Dillian hears Tre's voice whispering into his ear, "Speak to me if you want, I can hear you through my magic." Tre follows but many yards behind. Tre cast Message

Tre hums and harrs, as he quietly sighs, "Huh, I've heard of spells that let you talk to the dead, if only I had such a power. You can trust the dead to speak true." Having spoken to himself, he catches up with Dillan. "Certainly sounds like a monster, a very nasty beast there, Sir. I'm sure from that description, we'll recognise the Beast, if he is the dock." He quietly whispers to Dillan, "His beast does not sound like the beast we saw accused of these crimes. There are some similarities, but not enough."

"I think what my friend means, is that you would want the truly guilty to be punished, not some innocent whom the authorities might easily pin the blame on. For then the crime is twice as worse, a criminal roams free to do their evil, whilst an innocent rots in goal or hangs. A second crime against you, a victim of the original crime, when Pharesma judges you, you would not want the blood of an innocent on your hands. I am sure you want the true criminal to be found guilty. It is for this reason, to find the truly guilty party we must ask you to go over the incident again. This beast will either be implicated and be guilty, or he will be innocent and if hung, his death would rest heavy on a good citizen's conscious." Tre continues severely.

Tre delves into his backpack, searching through the various contents, until he eventually brings out a rich purple book with an eye set in a brass scarab in the centre of its cover. Judge, the professor bequeathed you this tome, 'Manual of the Order of the Palatine Eye'. He did not give us a key to the clasp, I assume that it is with you. The professor is greatly missed, I was a pupil of his once, he touche many peoples lives for the better." Tre bows, and passes the book over.

"Let's start with the things that are easy to remember. Can you tell us what happened and why you were in the library? We want to help you be proved innocent, if you are? But as outsiders ourselves we understand the way you are being treated. Its easy to blame outsiders, and if that's what's happening, then we shall if we can prove your innocence." says Tre speaking slowly as though to a child.

"After that we'll visit Karl, if we can." says Tre, shaking his head. "What evidence does the prosecution have against 'The Beast', or is it just hearsay?" the elf continues. "I wonder if our travelling companions can help in this too...hmmm?" he ponders.

"Strange, that a monster should make such an excuse if it wasn't true. Did the monster leave any trail in here that would substantiate its story." asks Tre with a certain trepidation, as though thinking aloud. "Was the statue recovered from the monster, or somewhere else? It would seem unusual if it were not found with him, given what you say. " Tre pauses deep in thought again, his brow knitted, his elven skin creased over his pupiless bright eyes. Some moments later he asks, "Professor, you are an intelligent man to be head of this university department. Do you think that the authorities exhausted all avenues of investigation to discover the truth of what happened, or did they quickly take the most obvious and easily dislikeable suspect to punish without recourse to testing the truths of the case?"
Male Elf Wizard (necromancy/undead)/4 HPs 24/24
"Yes, indeed you have much to admire here." continues Tre as he looks around. Distractively he asks "So why did you need to employ the builders, the last time I was here, it wasn't in such disarray?" he continues to look at the tomes on the shelves, occasionally sweeping his finger down the spine of a book lovingly. "Indeed a wealth of knowledge is contained within. You are indeed a custodian of great wealth."
Male Elf Wizard (necromancy/undead)/4 HPs 24/24
Tre waits for Sorin to speak, acknowledging the strange man has a way with words and can elicit information and make friends more easily than Tre. Tre's eyes wander over the contents of the room, search out those things of power and value, which most definitely includes the books that line the shelves.

Tre halts outside, casting a spell to have the sight to see magic in the room. He takes a step in, taking in the room and its condition. He strolls around distractedly looking at the damage for evidence as to what might have caused it and seeking out the magical auras in the room. Casts Detect Magic

"Tis good we find this good Doctor. Maybe we can find out more about the theft. In this time when plots have been hatched, I wonder if our good Professor's death, his books and the evil let loose at Harrowstone are connected to this theft. Is this beast part of the plot or just an unfortunate outcast as our friends with whom we travelled?" The elf asks his compatriots as they walk the corridors of the university. He watches with interest as they move closer to the Antiquities Department, taking an interest in the exhibits.

"In gratitude for your company on the journey, we shall drop your flyers off in the appropriate places." the elf says touching his brow. Once inside the city gates, Tre turns to his friends, "We have a job to do, let us make good our word to the late professor and Kendra. I say we make our way to the university to seek those for whom the tomes should be returned to."

Tre, feeling above the need to entertain, does little to encourage the kin to think he is anything other than a traveller, set to study in Lepidstadt. As he sits on the cart, trying to find the most comfortable, he asks more about this beast. Diplomacy 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20 "So these crimes, what did he do. Yet you say there is no evidence! Have the authorities been looking elsewhere? Where was he last seen?"

Tre questions the travelers about the road to Leipstadt, and how long it will take, it would please him to travel in a cart,to be as comfortable as he can. Having learned all he can about the road and dangers of the journey ahead, he turns in for the night.

Tre is more than happy to pour the wine onto the ground, though it might be of quality of these traveling folk, it is not to his taste from the smell of it.At least the food is better than the normal traveling fare or rations. He longs for an Inn of repute with a decent bed and fare.

Tre finds the carny a strange bunch, which he tends to keep aloof from.He is more interested in the deformities from an academic and magical standpoint rather than the human misery these deformities can bring. Tre engages S’jeer, the Vudrani Princess in conversation, fascinated by the story of her life and how she can about her extra appendages. He listens intently, but keeps his own council, not trusting the woman as he distrusts all whose reputation is to steal and live on the road. Sense motive 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (5) - 1 = 4
