Ahh, I wasn't aware that the Channel would need the caster level check since the Infernal Wounds ability says 'or the spell does not function'. I just assumed it wouldn't block the Channel because it's not a spell. With your reading of it, then yeah, no heal, and good damage, down goes Tragen. Boo. I should get an award for quickest death aside from that first NPC.
As for the channels, I actually would have had 3 more normal channels (2 from the first move action use, one from the second standard use) and 4 more (2 from the second round move action use) Sacred Scourge (which is a separate channel source that can only be used to Alignment Channel (evil).
HP 31/50 {effects: none} | AC 18 Tch 12 FF 16 | F +3, R +3, W +3 | Init +2 | darkvision, perc +4
Tragen winces with the pain. This time two pulses of holy energy fly from him. First, one that pummels the devil. Second, one that binds his own wounds yet seems to pass by his foe.
Move action: Sacred Sourge (use 2 slots)
Standard action: Channel w/ selective channeling
Sacred Scourge: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 1) = 5 damage to devil
Channel +vs w/ Fey Foundling: 4d6 + 8 ⇒ (2, 2, 6, 2) + 8 = 20 healing for Tragen
Wow the dice really aren't liking me.

Sorry didn't notice I was up.
Tragen steps out of the reach of the creatures' reach and mutters thw rods to cause a golden spear of light to launch through the space between them. The spear, however, goes wide and dissipates against the edge of the Pit. Undaunted, Tragen concentrates to channel his holy power against the creature
Spear of Purity: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Alignment Channel: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 5, 6) = 19
Free: 5' step away from the devil
Standard: cast Spear of Purity
Move: Use Alignment Channel (evil) to alter his normal channel to damage

Tragen watches the various combats with interest as he prepares himself to be called for his own battle. Defeating such creatures was what he had been trained for, even if he had fallen from the Church's grace. Joining the Hellknights, an organization of strict laws and enforcement would prevent what had happened, or at least have allowed for a more public presentation of justice. We shall see if I am worthy.
This is DarkNetwerk's Purifier Submission. Finally ready to go.
Looking forward to the results. Good luck all!
This is DarkNetwerk's Inquisitor/Rogue. Want to change the profile pic, but the system is acting up at the moment, so it'll have to wait.
Still need to figure out a Story Feat. Haven't really looked into those all too much.
Hook-wise, I could rewrite some things so the Kuthites are still looking for him.

Agreed. Perhaps it is time to lay this one to rest.

"It seems the message of 'the fool' and 'stupidity' referred to more than just the pendant," he says as the spiked ball crashes against the wall. "Thus the stairs, as expected, are not the way deeper into our trials."
Looks like it's just Sotha, unless that timid NPC fellow followed him there (maybe hoping to get out too?)
Was this the last room that we could see an entrance for (thus to continue means finding a secret door)? I'm not really sure where we've been and what's left to do.

Are there other doors? Have we explored everywhere else? Tragen is by the entrance (so top 3rd).
Tragen looks around the room. "If that is not the goal of our quest, then we must continue to search. Would the stairs not be a means of egress rather than a continuation?"

Tragen looks down at the hunks of metal in his hands. This could be useful... he thinks, shoving them into his pack. An eyebrow raises as Malak steps into the next room and he follows, close on his heels.
HP 31/50 {effects: none} | AC 18 Tch 12 FF 16 | F +3, R +3, W +3 | Init +2 | darkvision, perc +4
Tragen looks at the mithril snakes and guages the amount of light metal contained within them.
With his craft (armor) +7 skill, could he determine how much metal could be extracted to be created into armor?

Keeping his distance, Tragen swings his glaive once again.
Standard: Power Attack
Attack: 1d20 + 7 - 1 ⇒ (19) + 7 - 1 = 25
Damage: 1d10 + 6 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 6 + 3 = 18
Free: 5' step away from surviving snake(s) so that if they decide to come after Tragen, they need the move action and thus take an AoO.

Tragen takes another swing at a snake, using his reach to keep his distance from it, but the swing, once again, goes wide.

Tragen watches the interplay silently, from the inexpert attempt to talk the boy down by Sotha, through the saving graces of both Shalastar and Malak. With the boy more at ease, and a course and agenda set, he leans forwards and speaks. "There have been certain... difficulties, we have surpassed in getting to this point. Tell me lad, do you know of other such pitfalls that we may meet on the way to save your master?"
HP 31/50 {effects: none} | AC 18 Tch 12 FF 16 | F +3, R +3, W +3 | Init +2 | darkvision, perc +4
Yeah, was kinda waiting on him to point it out, lol.
"Hmm. Perhaps they keep other implements similar to the chair through here," he says as he approaches the area indicated by Sotha. He awaits for the results of Malak's spell before waving the others back, in case of a trap, and then moves to open the door. "Let's find out..."

Welcome aboard Avingen. I'm skilling up Craft (armor) so I might be able to put together some full plates for us, given time.
Malak, I didn't see your post in this recruitment thread. Is there another one? Anyhow, you may want to tailor the request to mention we could use a rogue and/or skill-monkey type (mainly for trapfinding... yeah, with my saves I could do the cover ears-stomp on ground thing, but I'd prefer someone else find/disable the traps, lol).
A ranged combatant (e.g. an archer of some sort) could be useful too since we're now looking at three front liners (or I guess two front-liners and a skirmisher, if you want to consider Sotha as such).
What sins are left?
Envy: Sotha
Gluttony:
Greed:
Lust: Shalastar
Pride: Avingen
Sloth: Malak
Wrath: Tragen
So Gluttony and Greed.

"Except that it is unlikely that you are the 'enemy' referred to. Perhaps it is someone we meet somewhere else and bring back here?" Tragen looks around to see if there are other exits.
HP 31/50 {effects: none} | AC 18 Tch 12 FF 16 | F +3, R +3, W +3 | Init +2 | darkvision, perc +4
Tragen looks around at the implements of torture. "Cruelty is a tool... I had not expected the words to be so literal. But something does seem to be missing. Why have a rack with none to occupy it?"

Tragen stands in the entryway, shaking his head as the others move to shatter the orb of darkness. Unnecessary... but I suppose the others cannot see in the dark...
Initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
Tragen is taken aback at the strange mist seeming to attack those in the room. He takes his glaive and tries to find an area of the mist, not occupied by his allies, that seems more concentrated, before swinging at that area.

Tragen looks at the frost covering Sotha and then his eye turns to Malak and his suggestion. "As you say, a 'useful tool' to combat the 'icy derision'," he says dryly with a nod feeling the jewel in his hand before throwing it against the mould-covered door.
HP 31/50 {effects: none} | AC 18 Tch 12 FF 16 | F +3, R +3, W +3 | Init +2 | darkvision, perc +4
Tragen shrugs, "The 'clue' to the last room, for want of a better word, was before the entry, so one can presume it will be the same here... Or at least it's a possiblity. Stand back," he says and opens the door.
HP 31/50 {effects: none} | AC 18 Tch 12 FF 16 | F +3, R +3, W +3 | Init +2 | darkvision, perc +4
Tragen looks at the jewel, giving it a small shake. "Interesting," he begins, "It's not truly a jewel of any real value, but a quartz container. Alchemist's ice... I wonder if, given the nature of the message found with it, it will prove useful in the near future."
He then shrugs and pockets the jewel before heading down the corridor to the next door.
Tragen had already opened that door, and we found a 20' corridor to a new door, which is where Tragen is going.
HP 31/50 {effects: none} | AC 18 Tch 12 FF 16 | F +3, R +3, W +3 | Init +2 | darkvision, perc +4
I just realized that noone has made the Appraise check, lol.
Tragen looks over the blue jewel in Shalastar's hands, wondering how it could become a 'useful tool'.

HP 31/50 {effects: none} | AC 18 Tch 12 FF 16 | F +3, R +3, W +3 | Init +2 | darkvision, perc +4
Tragen gazes down the corridor and then back to the recently opened northern door."It seems our path continues through this door. What have you found Shalastar?"
HP 31/50 {effects: none} | AC 18 Tch 12 FF 16 | F +3, R +3, W +3 | Init +2 | darkvision, perc +4
Tragen opened one of them ;) Not sure which as Sotha didn't specify which he went to. Tragen went to the other one.
HP 31/50 {effects: none} | AC 18 Tch 12 FF 16 | F +3, R +3, W +3 | Init +2 | darkvision, perc +4
Tragen nods. "As I said, to believe the visible door is safe, is to deceive oneself. Not seeing either door is to be deceived. As to whether there is truly a correct door...," he says as he moves to the door opposite to the one Sotha was at and opens it.
HP 31/50 {effects: none} | AC 18 Tch 12 FF 16 | F +3, R +3, W +3 | Init +2 | darkvision, perc +4
Tragen steps in and looks around and at the floor in front of the door. "A trap? In front of the only door in this room? Perhaps the message was literal, as you suggest, Malak. Is it 'self-deception' is to think that the door is safe? Perhaps there is a way to disable or circumvent the trap, or look for any other 'deceptions'" he says, "rather than us each trying to climb or dance around it."
HP 31/50 {effects: none} | AC 18 Tch 12 FF 16 | F +3, R +3, W +3 | Init +2 | darkvision, perc +4
Tragen looks at the Cardinal for a moment. Escaping the unescapable Brandenscar and razing it to the ground was not enough... Now he wants us to fetch a piece of jewelry he hid below as a test... Idiot.
He then nods, "We will succeed," he says matter-of-factly and follows Tiadora out of the room.
HP 31/50 {effects: none} | AC 18 Tch 12 FF 16 | F +3, R +3, W +3 | Init +2 | darkvision, perc +4
Then he turned into some outsider type that happens to look very much like a human? Or an aasimar with the Scion of Humanity trait... ;P

"I am hoping that 'soon enough' is very soon indeed. My wrath boils within me and I shall need an outlet soon enough," Tragen says grimly.
He accepts Tiadora's gifts, turning the silver symbol over in his hand. "Is this something we must carry for a purpose? I have no need of such a symbol, but you can add such a symbol for my Goddess Urgathoa to the list of needs."
He looks over the circlet and places it on his head. Concentrating for a moment, his image ripples and shifts as the aasimar takes on traits that make him look more... human. Flush instead of pale skin, blonde instead of silver hair, and a less crystaline set of green eyes. He looks down at himself and nods. "Indeed, it could be of use."
HP 31/50 {effects: none} | AC 18 Tch 12 FF 16 | F +3, R +3, W +3 | Init +2 | darkvision, perc +4
Tragen finds the hauntingly beautiful woman as he wandered the manorhouse. "May I ask some questions of you?" he asks.
Tiadora motions for him to enter the seating area and he joins her by the fireplace.
The aasimar stares into the fire for a moment before speaking again. "You gave some assistance to us in order to escape the prison and gave us this destination, and I offer my thanks for that. We are here and we have signed the contract, yet I tire of this period of inaction with seemingly nothing in the works. Each day is another that keeps me from acquiring the knowledge and experience I will need in order to return my beloved to me. What is to come for us now?"
HP 31/50 {effects: none} | AC 18 Tch 12 FF 16 | F +3, R +3, W +3 | Init +2 | darkvision, perc +4
Tragen was not one for luxuries. The servants were meaningless to him, even as a 'companion'. My wife is my only companion. I will bring her back to me. She will live again...
During his free time Tragen would excercise and practice battle forms, working himself into a sweat and beyond until he reached exhaustion, where he would collapse into his bed, to awaken once again with the servants arrival to bathe and feed him. This seemed to be a process that would repeat itself until... There must me more... I cannot sit around here forever. The 'Master' must have some plans for us...
Tragen began to explore the manor house hoping to find someone who could tell him their purpose here, before returning to his exercises.

Tragen looks through the contract and shrugs. "My soul and worship is already given to another. A contract will not change this. But I will offer my service under these terms as nothing in it will conflict with my other obligations. It is likely even that their goals may be aligned in some ways."
He makes a small incision to allow for the blood to flow and become the ink for his own signature as he signs the contract.

Tragen looked at the cardinal while the others talked. After a moment, he speaks. "I am promised to another. My Queen and Goddess, Urgathoa, who grants me what she will and knowledge to attain what I need in order to bring my true Queen, my wife, back to my side. Secondary to those goals, I can follow you. Tragen looks at the woman for a moment before speaking. "We are here now," he says with a shrug, "and Brandenscar burns."
His gaze passes over the slaves as they come in, his eyes looking right throught them. After a pause, he follows to where they lead and allwos them to tend to him. Perhaps some noble. Nonetheless, it can't hurt to look presentable after a period of prison life.
