Tolbold looks downtrodden and says "Why? To get justice for Mord. He didn't kill his wife. Some of us had nothing to do with that injustice done to Mord and that was wrong. Just as wrong as what was done to Madge's father. That doesn't mean what she did to Mord was right. He was responsible for what happened to her father, though I am wondering if the same person was responsible for both."

He then turns to Patrissa "Well you were the one bought off. What did you do to turn the others against Mord? Who was the one that bought you off. That may lead us to who is behind this plot."

Tobold looks kindly at Rekkart and says "That is exactly the kind of information I was asking for. You can't remember the evidence. That speaks of some sort of interference with you, probably magical. I was never accusing you of intentionally going against your beliefs."

He then turns to Madge "So Mord was your father's hangman and you were more than happy to send him to the gallows guilty or innocent. It wasn't Mord who framed your father, it was someone else. Mord just did his job. It was the judge, jury, and prosecutors who killed your father along with whoever set him up and killed the nobleman."

He then turns to Patrissa and gently asks "What was your part in this? How did they get you to vote against Mord?"

Suddenly Tobold turns to Killian "Wait a minute! You just said suddenly there were only three from the original jury. But there is four. You! Unless you aren't who you say you are."

Tobold says "Don't bother with the rope. It won't matter. Whoever or whatever is doing this will just untie him first. I think what's more important is that we sit and have a little chat with the three of you left from the original jury. I'm not trying to lay blame here but we need to know exactly what happened in order to try and fix this so some of us get out of here alive." He then looks at each of the three and then says "What happened. How could you have possibly been influenced? How good or bad was the evidence? We know Halgrak's vote was bought due to his debt. I'm not saying any of you were bought but could have been influenced. Think what might have been done."

Powerless Prophecy is in the cyclops area of the monster codex.

Haunted could have it's comedic moments and I've always been partial to tongues as well.

I have seen it mentioned a few times that this is a horror campaign. I don't think that is correct. This module we are in currently has it's horror elements but that is no guarantee that others will. That will be a question for the DM.

Tobold sighs sadly and says "I think it's too late for Ebin. Carolynn wait! We should all stick together and check on him. Make sure everyone will survive an encounter if we get into one and head up as a group. Past on the past that gong was also Ebin's demise and who knows if he'll come back to attack us like Malgrim."

Well, teaching a old dog new tricks I see. I've always read that as the cover through target was the same -4 that precise shot removed, not as an additional -4 for a total of -8.

Technically not -8 but effectively is. -4 to hit for melee +4 to AC for cover.

I think those are the 3 relevant areas for firing ranged weapons into combat. Firing from the back line is difficult because of the front line providing cover. Casters generally do ok with precise shot due to hitting touch ac. The cover is usually a killer.

I was trying to get a lane where he didn't get the cover for 4 more ac. Firing into melee is bad enough adding the cover makes it worse, effectively -8.

In my gaming experience over the past 20 years, the groups I have been in have always stuck with the more Tolkien/Jordan high fantasy approach and did not get into guns, or like with Neronious the occult. There are areas that I am learning as we go. Those are two of them, so please give me grace and help me learn.

I took a quick look through firearms and there are no rules regarding storing loaded weapons. In reality a blunderbuss might lose it's load depending on the type of load but again no rules for that that I could find. According to the rules they can be loaded with "cartridges", really just a small paper case keeping it all together.

As far as I know gamewise there isn't a risk of it going off accidentally. Realistically there certainly is but game and realism don't go hand in hand. Realistically, holstering it wouldn't cause it to go off. To my knowledge muzzleloading pistols were always carried loaded and ready to use. Muskets and rifles were sometimes unloaded but that was mostly to force the soldiers to use their bayonets (they didn't want them to stop and shoot) or in a situation where stealth was important.
