Hello. I’m making this post across all my games. These past few weeks have been filled with increasing health issues and I’ve been grateful for your understanding and patience. I’ve had to reevaluate my priorities and refocus energy into taking care of myself/my family and my ailing mother (she’s been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and has been rapidly declining). It wouldn’t be fair to take up a place in game and not be available to play with any consistency or coherency. So, sadly, I’ll be withdrawing from all my games. I’d sincerely like to thank all my excellent GMs and fellow players - I’ve enjoyed playing alongside you all and am grateful for the opportunity to learn new things and play my characters. At this stage, I don’t know when, or if, I’ll return to Paizo, so I want to wish you all the very best and please take care.
Warm Regards,
Tilly

There’s some unexpected RL family stuff to take off, so I won’t be back on the boards until my Monday (your Sunday). If you need to bot my character in the meanwhile, please feel free. Thanks for your understanding. Please have a good weekend.

Tilly listened keenly, trying to commit to memory the small details in regard to the unmaking of the ring.
When the epic tale was spoken, Tilly sat with the others and could not help but listen and marvel at the story and images in her mind. Her usual ruddy cheeks grew redder still; either from fire, wine or heroic deeds. She couldn't remember when her eyes closed and she fell into deep slumber but she rose with the cold wind against her face, waking her swiftly. Tilly prepared herself for the perilous journey ahead (glad for her heavier clothing against the cold). She kindly thanked the Elves for all they had shared and given. Báin had the key in his safekeeping. She took her place among the others, ready to set forth once more.
GM, does that mean we are no longer fatigued, weary etc? And, yes, Tilly is still a Look-out.

Real life has been rather hectic. I'll make an IC post later today. Apologies.

Standing before Master Elrond, Tilly found it hard to find her tongue, so she simply listened to her companions, nodding in agreement as Jotun mentioned their purpose in coming to Rivendell.
"Every turn we've taken to find the missing Hobbit, Mister Bungo, we seem to find some darker peril. This hasn't swayed us from our duty. We earnestly seek your guidance in destroying the dark ring, Master Elrond." Tilly's eyes look up at Lord of Rivendell, hoping her earnestness would prevail upon his good will.

Tilly merely nodded and smiled, still in awe of the Elves.
As soon as her belly was filled or the tiredness overcame her, Tilly murmured her thanks and then lay back, resting her head on the soft, lush lawn before her eyes closed and she fell into a deep, restful slumber. Her last thought was of being called before the Lord of Rivendell and explaining to him what had befallen them. When she sat up and stretched, the fresh, clean air filled her lungs and she rubbed at her eyes and for a moment forgot where she was. Looking down she noted that her clothes had been washed and mended and then looking about her, she sought the figure of Jotun. Upon seeing him, she asked, "Have we been summoned, yet? Will you speak of our troubles to the Lord of Rivendell?" How long had she been asleep? She couldn't recollect. Least she felt better - the weariness somehow gone in her sleep. (Do we lose the weary condition with sleeping, GM? What of our fatigue score?)

Even as weary as she was, Tilly's heart swelled at the Elven song and she closed her eyes and looked up into the sky, relieved to have reached their destination.
She looked upon the Elves' as they greeted their company. Feeling bedraggled and simple in their presence, Tilly straightened up, and, placing a cordial smile upon her face, the Breelander addressed them with polite manners and warmth, "Greetings, Halor and Mithiriel. I am Tilly of the Appledores of Bree. We're certainly grateful for the kind courtesy you're showing us this day."
She followed the others to the small pavilion and when directed, she sat down on an empty chair and waited until the others had taken some food and drink before following their lead. "Such a fine and welcomed repast. Once again, we thank you," she inclined her head respectfully to the Elves, hoping her words were good enough and glad to be among new friends.

GM Tarondor wrote: Tilly Appledore wrote: Being fatigued and weary, perhaps Tilly can ride in the small wagon that's being pulled by the pack horses? She could, but it won't cure her of Fatigue. So she might as well put down her gear. Also, if she's riding in the cart, no one is acting as Look-Out man. Okay, she puts down her gear in the wagon. And walks, doing her duty as look-out.

GM Tarondor, with the roll of 8, if you add his roll 2d6 (6,5) for Explore which is 11, doesn't that equal 19 and is greater than the TN 16, which means Waylon was successful?

Tilly accepted the role of look-out for the company, eager to prove herself in the task as they travelled the endless miles of their journey to Rivendell.

So, we have the list of gear/goods we wish to gather/purchase before we head out to Rivendell. Can we assume we have those, GM, and are we ready to move ahead or do you need something else from us?

Looking to Báin, Tilly bobbed her head in earnest gratitude of his approval. "I've learnt a lot from the Small Folk in these parts. You have my thanks, Master Báin."
At the suggestion of tents or tarps, Tilly's eyes drew serious and she replied, "We could find sheltered corners of dells and make do with simple lean-to's and a camp fire against poor weather or cold night. We might get stuck on a stray shelf with a rock wall at our backs. If we huddle together with cloaks and skins/furs, we can again make do. We can find a tarp to cover the small wagon load to keep our supplies safe and fresh." (Not sure if tents were mentioned by Tolkien on these long, often hard, miserable journeys? Finding some sheltered places to spend the night (or constructing simple lean-tos) seems to be the general way. If push comes to shove, people could lay beneath the wagon for added, overhead shelter?)

The company can probably get the bucket of apples and jugs of apple cider for free as Tilly's family own an apple orchard and have/produce those. Her grandfather also planted the apple trees by the gate into/out of town and the tree is full of ripe apples that can be picked.
Tilly herself hasn't got much coin in hand (common living), however she has some great connections in Bree and I'm sure (pretty please) the GM will allow the company to gain some good discounts on items we need.

Alright. If the quantities are not quite right, someone can suggest more or less. These are additional supplies to what we already have in our own gear/packs. We can also refill our own water canteens before we leave as extra water isn't a bad thing.
-2 healthy/hardy pack horses, with saddlebags, +1 small wagon
-Journey Bread/Waybread/Cram x 40 (hardtack made of nut flour/meal, milk, honey, seed/nuts - wrapped in mallorn leaves to keep them fresher/ won't spoil on long journeys - will last indefinitely as they're somewhat hard to chew/eat but filling/sustaining.)
- 1 bucket of fresh apples
- 1 basket of fresh field mushrooms
- 4 earthen jugs of apple cider
- 20 costrels/flasks/canteens of fresh water
- 2 large hemp bags of potatoes
- 2 large hemp bags of onions
- 1 kg/2 pounds smoked fish
- 1 large clay jar of pickled eggs
- 1 large clay jar of pickled cabbage
- 4 Hemp ropes
- 4 sets of pitons for climbing
- 20 Torches
- 20 jars/clay pots of oil
- 4 warm cloaks for travelling plus 4 furs for sleeping on
- 2 hunting bows plus arrows (we'll want to try catching fresh meat)
- 2 axes for chopping wood for camp fires
- Flint & Steel for lighting camp fires
- 1 knife for cutting/peeling vegetables
- 2 iron skillets and 1 large cooking pot for cooking food in
Anything else, guys?

With ruddy cheeks, Tilly turned to look at Waylon and offered quietly, "I can go into Bree and get what we need for our journey. If another wishes to join me, I won't say no. I'll need some coin, for the packhorses and other provisions, although I'm fairly sure I can make a good bargain."
From Jotun's list of purchases: Plenty of water and food and 2 packhorses to carry the load. Standard traveling equipment as well, such as rope, pitons, torches, oil, etc. Anything else?

Tilly had remained silent for she was rather awed in the presence of the Elves and did not believe herself learned enough to speak among them.
When Waylon spoke of returning to Bree to put together all the supplies they might need to travel to Rivendell, Tilly nodded enthusiastically.
"Aye, that ring does not belong in town. Perhaps we could secretly bury it outside the gates and fetch it once we head back out of Bree. I also agree that getting supplies for the long journey to Rivendell is a fine idea. I know some folk who would help us." Tilly gave a shy but honest smile.

Good morning, all. I hope this finds you well.
Unfortunately, hubby gave me coronavirus as an anniversary gift (today is our wedding anniversary) - I tested positive, this morning. If I’m slow to post it’s because I have two of us to take care of now. Apologies.

Tilly bowed her head toward the Elves, as had her companions before her. Still in awe of their sudden appearance, but grateful nonetheless, the Breelander managed to find her tongue and said in her most polite voice, "Well met, Fair Ones. I'm Tilly Appledore of Bree. We've not called upon no evil spirit, you have my word on it. Please, come and join us 'round the fire so we may speak with ease and warm comfort." She was still holding the lit torch in hand, so she gestured with her free hand for the Elves to join them, if they wished to, giving them a natural, warm smile even though her belly was full of butterflies in their presence.

My sincere apologies for my long absence. Lots of health concerns to contend with. Thanks to those who botted Tilly. I'll try to keep up with posting. Thanks for your patience! :)
She'd remained quiet as the others spoke among themselves. Least she'd been able to stem the woman's blood so she would live another day.
At the frightened look on Berelas' face and the whispered warning of the Shade approaching, Tilly, too, prepared a torch and stood between Jotun and Bain, near the fire.

The tiles in the upstairs bathroom were icy cold and slippery as we were adding new blinds throughout the house and the cold night air seeped inside the room. I slipped, slid across the floor and smashed my face into the sharp bath seat corner, landing on my thumbs. Sigh. Only I can do this trick, No icy side walks in my part of Oz (we get no snow in my area and the temperatures don't get below 6-8 deg celsius in winter).

She wasn't a great fighter, yet she could not stand by and watch her companions, especially Báin, be brought down by the Cold Shade. She rallied her courage, which she had an abundance of. Sorry to hear about the COVID, Waylon. Good recovery to you and your wife.
No internet (lots of rain can do this) and now I have the worst ever flu (thanks to hubby) on top of my eye situation. This is turning into a bad comedy. Sorry, folks, I’m out until I can swallow without razor blades in my throat, hacking cough subsides, migraines stop and breathing returns. Least it’s not COVID as we got tested for that yesterday. Sincere apologies for my lack of presence on the board. I developed a severe eye infection in my left eye last week that grew worse and I had to go into hospital. I'm back home now, but with an eye patch, on bed rest. So, being in front of a comp for any length of time isn't the best for me. Tilly is not holding a weapon in hand and her body language is non-threatening. With Jotun beside her, Tilly heard the woman healer's unfriendly accusation and noted Jotun's glance before she placed a gentle smile on her face and began to speak in a cordial fashion, keeping a peaceful stance.
"Greetings, friends. I'm Tilly Appledore from Bree and beside me is Jotun, my travelling companion. Mister Eoin knows of my family in town and he can swear to the truth of it." Tilly gave a friendly nod in greeting to Eoin before continuing. "With respect, we're no ruffians, Miss Berelas, and we mean no harm. We're travellers and seekers. Can we sit together and engage in pleasant and honest talk? We'll be able to clear up any misunderstandings, if you'll permit?"

And, Jotun, Tilly will come along with you. She has a 3d6 in Courtesy (with True-hearted to help) and 2d6 in Persuade (also 3d6 in Insight (favored) to gauge how she's responding to them). She has the Desperate Courage virtue, so she won't shy away from possible danger.

Before Jotun moved away to go to the other camp, Tilly instructed him politely, "Don't forget your manners, Jotun. Best to greet these folk nicely before trying to persuade them with your charming nature. If you need my help with being all courteous like and convincing, I'd be willing to join you, but only if we're companions and not some story about being beloveds." Tilly smiled, a little embarrassed since his last suggestion of pretending to be sweethearts when it came to speaking to the Breelander Eoin in the other caravan.

Returning to her companions, she informed them of her findings and reckonings, "The guide, Edoric, is an honest man and I doubt he had any part in murdering Dead-Eye. Don't get me wrong, I believe he'd be dangerous in a fight. He's close to the woman, Berelas. He rides beside her and smiles when she sings."

Tilly watched as Belle disappeared to investigate the woman who Waylon believed was the killer they were seeking. As Jotun and Waylon made their way to investigate some of the others, Tilly thought it best to see what the Edoric, the guide, was up to and if he was doing or saying anything to help them with discovering the murderer of Deadeye.
