The Asheville Comic Expo (ACE) is soon upon us! Once again its a great opportunity to play RPGs and increase the lodge's visibility to the public. Also, if you've got a costume of your favorite superhero or LARP gear its a great time to get dressed up! (I'm looking at you, Hellboy!) I'm working on getting a warhorn setup for the event. Run a game, get in free! I'll likely be running DCC and maybe Edge of the Empire, and I'd love to get a volunteer to run the Pathfinder beginner box for a kids table like Paul did last year. Let me know!
ACE has come calling again, looking for awesome gamers to enjoy their homegrown 2nd Annual Comic Expo! Date is Sept. 21st, underneath the Expo center like last time. It is run by the excellent people at Comic Envy, and supported by Game Xcape and our very own Wyvern's Tale. Details are sketchy at this point, but just wanted to put it on everyone's radar to represent the APL in the community. I would love to see some Pathfinder games run, including Paul's excellent brainstorm from last year, the kids beginner box table! I may run that, and I'll certainly run DCC. I would encourage folks to branch out if the like and try/run something different. I'm so sad I'm missing these epic grand lodge days. Stupid work... I'll drop by in the evening and see if I can pawn off any of these 2nd run blood under shirts. If I can't find the people who preordered them by the end of this month, they may go up for grabs. I'll post names of those I still haven't gotten in touch with. Hey guys, if you have an interest in expanding your gaming horizons, I'll be running a regular Dungeon Crawl Classics game on Sunday afternoon at the Wyvern's Tale starting this Sunday. Does the extra rogue talent feat include the selection of ninja talents? It looks like if you used your extra rogue talent to take ninja trick that could work. Correct me if I'm wrong, guys.
Hey all - I'm still a bit confused about how some things work. Assuming we make it out tomorrow, we'll have earned our third xp... which will take us to second level? I understand that we can change our character sheet before that - do we just go ahead and change it or do we need to register that somewhere? You can make just about any changes you want to your character before you hit 2nd level. Page 10 of Guide to Organized Play: "1st-Level Character Retraining Pathfinder Society is all about player choices and living with those choices once you’ve made them. However, at the start of a Pathfinder’s career, you are allowed to adjust your character before settling in for the long haul. Before you level up a character for the first time, you may change any aspect of it except its Pathfinder Society Number. Changes may only be made between adventures and before playing as a character above 1st level. Any exceptions will be noted in the Pathfinder Society FAQ. You are able to keep all treasure, Prestige Points, special boons, and XP that you have earned and apply them to the character once you retrain as long as the character meets the criteria above." If you haven't registered your character already, you should do so under the character section of the my account page.
Ninja would be an excellent choice, as CHA feeds in to your Ki pool. That being said, you can make a lot of adjustments to a 1st level character before 2nd, but I don't believe class is one of them. Correct me if I'm wrong guys. The good news is you don't have a bunch of scenarios sunk in to the halfling just yet. I would recommend just starting a new ninja.
The 2nd order of red shirts will be available at the Wyvern's tale this coming Saturday. I'll be around all day as the marathon of intros will be running from 1pm-whenever we're done. Its gonna be awesome. I'm glad to see Sunday works for a lot of our regulars. We'll have to stay out of the way of the warmahordes guys, but I think there is enough room for everyone up there. Hey, for that First Steps marathon next Saturday, would anyone mind if I played Part I, but skipped the rest? I have a level 1 character with 2 credits so far, and I was hoping to get him to level 2, then play a higher-tier scenario in the later slot. That should be OK. We're looking a little ninja-heavy at that table as it is. And just a friendly reminder, for those of us who have played them before (if not several times) do your best divorce player knowledge from character knowledge so as not to ruin it for any new players, and prepare to have an awesome time! On a sad note, my schedule has changed, and I no longer have saturdays off, so it may be the last time I'm around the regular lodge meetings for a few months. On the plus side, I do have sunday off, so maybe Shadow-Shadow Lodge? The Sundune Osirion Beetle sessions? The name is still in the works, but I would be interested to see who would be in for some Sunday sessions starting in mid-Feb.
In the spirit of Groundhog's Day (the movie), I'll be running all three intro steps in a row, in one glorious marathon run on Saturday, Feb. 2nd! Haven't we played these before? Yes! But surely you've got a new character concept that has been burning a hole in that twisted gamer-brain of yours. Now is the time to launch that character to 2nd level post-haste! I will be contributing the GM credit to my new Osirion Barbarian/Ninja, Sandshadow. I can't wait to play him, but his build doesn't even make sense 'till 2nd level, so there you go. See you guys then, with or without shadows of your own!
Good thing we have so many Osirion agents in the region collecting this priceless knowledge. With ancient such ancient power, we will defeat death itself!
Sadly, I'm not going to SCARAB, and as I work nights its going to be difficult to get the shirt to you before the con. I'm also going to be out of town this weekend, so I'll try again the 26th and the 2nd of Feb. I may send some shirts down to the deckbox with Paul for the deckbox guys who ordered one.

Here is the 2nd and final order of the Blood Under anniversary shirts. Hope you guys had a fantastic time at the Anniversary event. I know I did! Solid role playing all around the table from Grognard to Newbie, and you gotta love it when the youngest pathfinder wins the wayfinder! A big thank you to the Wyvern's Tale, Paul, Dain, and all the GMs that put in so much time, effort, and money to make it an incredible evening. I hope this was the first of many such events, and we may be able to incorporate a charitable element to it next year which would be all the better! For those of you who didn't get a chance to commemorate the event with one of our snazzy red anniversary t-shirts, we'll be doing one more run of these, then retire them forever! Be a part of APL history, and show you were there at the legendary Blood Under Asheville event! Private Message me on here if you want to get in on the post-event order. Only what was requested, but it was a pretty small window for people to get in on it, so that is why we'll be taking another order on game day. They should be ready for SCARAB for those of you showing your APL pride at South Carolina's premiere 4-day gaming con!Are these the black or red shirts? Red. We can see if we have enough for another black order, but we would need an order of at least 15 to make it cost-effective.
Its going to be the coolest/craziest/hectic-est/awesome-est event so far. For those of you unfamiliar, all tables will be playing the same scenario at the same time, for different tiers. Bring your A-game, as when we played it at SCARAB it was at an absolutely frenetic pace. Know your character, plan your turn during everyone else's, and ROLL HIGH!
The t-shirts are in hand, and they are awesome. I'll be showing up early on saturday (2ish) to help setup and take your money for your shirts. Also, since those fortunate few who pre-ordered will be looking so awesome, I'll be taking orders both before and after for a 2nd run of the blood under shirts. This will be your last opportunity to get one, if you didn't get in on the original order. S-XL are $10 XXL-5XL are $11. Be sure and bring money, or buy me a map that I don't have. Either is legal tender for shirts! SO looking forward to this, pathfinders. I hope this is the beginning of an awesome December tradition for the APL!
We may do another run of the Anniversary shirts if there is enough demand. We will definitely be doing another run of the black shirts, either in Spring, or maybe pre-SCARAB if enough people want them. If we can put together an order of about 15-20 shirts it makes it cheap for everybody ($10-11), smaller runs than that get expensive at the per/shirt cost.

I love how this has gone from, "Geez, I don't know if we can pull this off." to "OMG, where are the tables?! Where are the chairs?! How many people can we have in here and still meet fire code!?" Last call on super awesome special edition lodge t-shirts for our first anniversary event! If you haven't played Blood Under Absalom you really should make time on the 15th. Playing it at SCARAB last year was one of the best times I've ever had around a RPG table. Not only that, but every table at the Tale will be playing the same adventure simultaneously! Fantastic Criticals, Devastating Fumbles, Final deathstrokes, all announced to the entire store by your illustrious Venture Captain! Its a really unique event.
