They are moon-beasts. Ask away?

Rounds Descending First Monster: 1d6 ⇒ 3

Rounds Descending Second Monster: 1d6 ⇒ 5

Rounds Descending Third Monster: 1d6 ⇒ 4

Sorry, Vars, but none are on the ground yet.

Sorry, the last was supposed to be from Thevshi, but my computer decided to use a different account...

Playing one and running a second...

One of them is definitely in the open now...

3 creatures no longer seem to be as well hidden as the slowly start to float back toward the ground near the steps.

Avoreal feels a tug at making her Heroism getting dispelled, but it fails. Her Mirror Images and Shield are not so lucky.

Avoreal:
All 3 of them seem to doing some magic spells

Will saves from Avoreal and Vuvu.

Another Will save from everyone. Saving means 20% damage.
Ice Storm: 3d6 + 2d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 6) + (5, 1) = 19 Bludgeoning and Ice damage

Lucky me, they go before Duhwoo...

Avoreal:
You have an idea of where they are due to the detect magic

You may have a feeling that something is hiding.

You see Nawthing...

Use the blunt arrows. It was an order to attack, not kill.

Attack Starseeker

I have been rolling them off screen, but I can put them in from now on. Thevshi told me I could do it either way.

I had to read the spell to make sure of exactly what you can and can't see.

Encounter map is updated, arrange yourselves at the top.

Evil... of course...

Yes, since you hadn't quite reached the door yet.

These appear to be 50' in the air, above the stairs.

VuVu, Lithuan, and Vars, I need Will saves vs. Dominate

Lithuan's Greater Magic Weapon is dispelled

Avoreal's Mass Fly is dispelled

Lithuan's Mirror Images are dispelled

Spellcraft checks are possible

And you see... Nothing... or at least not more than you already saw... you do have a general idea of 3 spots that magic seems to be coming from

Oh, and in answer to the tracks, you see none.

Since no one beat the Perception, they get a surprise round, which they used for the Dispel Magic spells, so it's Starseeker.

Initiative: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23

Once I get the rest of the Perceptions, I will need initiative.

Dispel Magic seems like the most likely answer.

As you approach the stairs, everyone's echolocation stops. There is definitely magic targeting the party.

I need Perception checks from everyone as you get to the stairs.

The jungle grasps at the feet of a great tor of black stone, which towers into the sky above. As it rises toward the stars, the stone darkens and gains a glassy sheen, ending in a tall, thin tower high above—a shimmering spire of porphyry and obsidian. The stars are mirrored in the glassy sides of the spire, as though in supplication to the heavens. A winding stair climbs the stone, leading to the wide double doors into the imposing structure.

The splattered body yields nothing but gory entrails. The area is quiet except for the slurping of Duhwoo searching the remains.

Seeing as how I completely underestimated the damage dealing capabilities of y'all the goo that was the demon slowly fades back to visible.

To the south of you is a small mountain with a massive black stone at the summit.

Vuvu, when you can see it, they just might.

Those of you who have true seeing or equivalent running see a gargantuan demonic-looking creature pop in immediately in front of you.

The thing in the middle is supposed to represent the stone with the manacles attached to it. I just put it there to represent the object.

New initiative order:

Avoreal - 30
Lithuan - 22+
Vuvu - 22-
Vars - 12+
Duhwoo - 12-
Baddies - 9

Initiative order so far:

Lithuan - 22+
Vuvu - 22-
Vars - 12+
Duhwoo - 12-
Baddies - 9

Please someone say cthulhu, please someone say cthulhu......

As soon as you speak the name out loud the sigil flashes for a brief second.

I need initiatives from everyone.

initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

That is what the rune means. Gzarnarath. It's just a name.

Avoreal: The rune represents a

name:
Gzarnarath
.

Lithuan: you feel like you are close to understanding something, but it just isn't coming to you.

Knowledge History and religion really don't turn up anything. It would really appear to be some sort of summoning though. Try a knowledge planes or a linguistics check.

Ok so:

Knowledge History: You are certain that at one point or another someone has to have been sacrificed to the moon.

Knowledge arcana: There have been arcane rituals in the past that involved some sort of pillar.

Knowledge religion: you are pretty sure that some sort of religion or possibly even religions have existed in the past.

I suppose in this one instance I could allow use of the highly controversial summon jug band spell.

The sigil etched in the rock radiates conjuration magic.

The path heads northwest, then turns due west shortly before entering a clearing.

A wide clearing stands out abruptly from the dense jungle; the surrounding trees face inward as though worshiping the space between them. In the center of the clearing, a natural stone pillar of speckled bloodstone rises. From the pillar hangs a pair of manacles encrusted in glowing runes. A single sigil has been etched into the stone above the restraints, and emanates a low thrumming sound when approached.

The path that leads to the east appears to dead end after a mile or so.

You have noticed that the sun does not seem to be moving quickly across the sky. It would appear to still be mid morning.

The path seems to be curling around and eventually leading to the mountain looking thing to the northwest of you. Everywhere else is jungle.

Yeah, there was no Island. What you saw was the eye stalk of the froghemoth watching for things to play with.

The path heads north away from the lake an comes to a y. I've put it on the encounter map so you can see what it looks like.

And with that it falls back into the water, and looks rather less than alive.

The froghemoth will be spending this round reeling from the last attack, so Vuvu, your go.

will save: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (5) + 12 = 17 - failed.

Still up, but dazed.

He is battered but still up. Duhwoo's turn at bat.

Alrighty then. Avoreal?
