Theo cast Light on his flag and hefted it up to illuminate the room. He nodded approval at the suggestions.

"May Abadar guide you in your efforts."

Theo will use Guidance and Inspiring Command upon request to grant anyone a +3 to a skill check. (takes 2 rounds to prepare)

Theo's eyebrows raised higher and higher as the task sounded shadier and shadier.

He gave it a moment of thought. He had been a practitioner of law for some time now. It seemed hypocritical to break it now. However, in another life, it would be hypocritical to condemn this act when he was guilty of worse.

He sighed. "Where do we find this warehouse?"

She seems to be in a hurry to dismiss us. I'm not sure she's fully qualified for these sick children. Hmmm...

Theo nodded at Ansha.

"Yes, I would love to help. I have been practicing the healing arts for years. I even served as a combat medic and have experience with a variety of ailments. Are the sickest ones this way?"

Theo pointed upstairs.

Theo studied the woman's face. "You don't look too well yourself. Are you feeling alright? Perhaps you have caught some of what you're treating?"

He gently placed one hand under her elbow and the other on her shoulder. "Here, sit down. Let me see what I can do."

Theo held his elbow in one hand and his chin in the other, deep in thought. He was used to unraveling puzzles laid by deceptive politicians in the courts. This... was different.

"Stonetree, when did notice that key from the ceiling? Was it always there or did we do something?"

He nodded his head in approval of Ansha's suggestion.

Theo nodded at Ansha, took the knife, and stepped into the room.

"You there! Stop this nonsense at once! Your mistress has made it very clear how to deal with your insubordination."

Theo pointed the knife at the creature.

"So settle down and let's have a civil conversation."

"A pleasure to meet you," Theo said to Chortles with a bow.

"I am Theodric Pepromeno of Taldor. You find yourself in good company. I have ventured with those around you. They are quite capable and trustworthy. I look forward to your contribution and your friendship."

Theo kept pace with the other in the race to Janira with his banner held high.

"Janira, we're coming!"

Theo held his banner high as he charged down the tunnel.

Theo smiled. "Then you better keep it."

He looked back the way they came. "Left?"

"I would make use of the pearl if you do not want it, Ansha."

I think the pearl lets the user recall a 1st level spell. When the recalled spell is cast it's at the user's normal CL.

Theo took the wand from Jivan.

"Thank you, Jivan."

He lightly touched it to Kame. "Well fought, friend."

Theo raised the key hanging from his neck into the air.

"In the name of Abadar, get back!"

Theo waits for everyone to complete their observations. He then refreshed his Light spell and hoisted his banner. He peered down the two tunnels.

"Left?"

This is fascinating. I would never have expected such a civilized society in a place like... this.

"I am Theodric Pepromeno. It is a pleasure to meet you, Uori. I would love to learn more of your people. Would you guide us through your home? We are willing to compensate for your inconvenience."

Theo ever so gingerly took a shortspear by the pointy end and laid it on the ground. He extended his hands in a peaceful gesture and backed up a few steps.

He tried to get into its field of vision at a distance as to not startle it as much.

Theo takes a Total Defense action each turn as he approaches.

Unless anyone protests, Theo takes the potion of vanish, wand of cure light wounds, and an alchemist's fire.

Theo smiled. He was glad Ansha also preferred negotiation to more primitive tactics.

He added, "We mean you no harm."

I didn't know the rope was knotted.

Theo took a deep breath in then slowly climbed down the rope. Despite gravity, climbing up seemed much easier.

On his second step, Theodric slipped on one foot, then the other. His body swung into the wall. He twirled on the rope for a moment.

Easier than it looks... meaning it's only kind of hard.

Theo raised an eyebrow at Ansha's remarks. He then leaned over the pit to observe Jivan's attempt at retrieving the bundle.

"I think you have it, Jivan, but I have rope someone can use just in case."

Theo will cast Guidance and use Inspiring Command on anyone attempting to climb down the pit. +3 stacked bonus on skill checks.

I'm glad I prepared that light-producing cantrip, Theo thought to himself.

Theo recited a mental list he was keeping.

"Rope, lantern, oil, rations, waterskin, bedroll... I'll gather these before we head out. Anything else we need?"

He smilled at Jivan. "I will provide the light."

Sheathing his sword he attempted a backflip off the table.

"Goodness, Kame! Are you alright? Here, let me help you up."

"I studied to become a priest of Abadar in Oppara, the capitol of Taldor. I then served as a standard bearer in the 21st heavy infantry battalion of the Braganza army under Terandar Ravnagask."

An experience I greatly underestimated, but I am grateful for the eye-opening scars.

"I returned to Oppara to serve as a barrister in her high courts. I was then... prompted to broaden my international knowledge. The Pathfinder Society seemed the perfect fit."

Theo surveyed his companions. The welcoming atmosphere was appreciated. Not having to scrutinize the intent of countless lawyers vying for his support, he could let down his guard a bit. He breathed out and relaxed his shoulders.

"I encourage and inspire those around me to do their best in dangerous and peaceful situations alike. At times, I find it just as beneficial to demoralize those that oppose me."

He smiled warmly at Ansha. "I, too, have a way with words."

"Welcome, Basayus. I am Theodric Pepromeno. We appear to have our team."

Theo looked around at the group. He was excited to learn more of each of his new friends and observe how their different cultures would interact.

He turned to Janira. "Are these gillman to be treated as hostiles? I would prefer if we could reason with them and negotiate terms to explore their home. Does anyone here speak their language?"

Amidst the ruckus, Theo strained to maintain some civility at the table.

"Yes, Ansha, I am here for my Confirmation into the Society. I am always intrigued by the varied backgrounds of the Society's members. May I ask what brings you to this organization?"

He turned to Jivan. "Yes, I am. Abadar worship is not common among the Vudrani. I presume you to also be a man of faith, or perhaps a scholar?"

Theo surveyed those already at the table as he approached.

This one appears sophisticated enough. Perhaps we shall engage in some riveting discussions of international policy.

That one could use a bath. Surely, he will benefit from my company. I will teach him better hygiene than he learned from the slums.

Theo sat down. A large, golden key hanging from his neck clanked into the table. He ordered an expensive wine.

"I am Theodric Pepromeno of Taldor. It is a pleasure to meet all of you. I look forward to serving The Pathfinder Society together."

He flashed a smile of perfect, pearly white teeth. He noticed several pairs of female eyes observing him throughout the pub. His flowing brown hair and auburn eyes had a way of drawing attention.

His smile got a little bigger. He half paid attention to the others' introductions as he contemplated engaging one of his admirers.
