The wyrm looks down at Eddrikk and chuckles. "Yes yes, my servants. You shall be rewarded. Here you are."

Which of Themberchaud's things?: 1d8 ⇒ 8

A gourd containing a potion bottle skids across the floor to you.

Tasting the potion:

You feel invigorated just by a slight taste of the potion! You conclude that it is a potion of supreme healing.

Themberchaud leans forward with great interest in his eyes. He sniffs the egg carefully, then his jaws flash open and closed, crushing the egg and consuming it. He smiles wickedly at you. "Now my position in Gracklstugh is secure. I will grow to my full size and rule!" The dragon looks very satisfied with himself and settles back onto his pile of treasure. "You may leave, now."

He is CE so he's not going to reward you without convincing. As long as you don't say anything rude to him, he won't punish a failed save with death.

Looks like my previous post was eaten. Or maybe it'll show up twice. 190 xp (standard allotment)x2 for Kanzen for saving the Dwarven bacon from getting over-cooked.

Themberchaud redirects his breath at the last moment and sends the intense, painful, searing heat in a great cloud of fire above your heads. Then he preens at Kanzen's words. "Very well, my servants. What of this egg? What do your small minds believe is happening?"

He looks ready to listen now.

Galenus makes some very good points but his blunt words fall on deaf ears. The dragon glares at him and turns so that his warming maw faces both dwarves.

This thing is DC 21 dex save for half of 18d6 so yeah... you could easily die outright... One more person may try! I'll allow Galenus' good points to keep his blunt words from making the dragon angrier. DC 17 to calm the dragon or fire breath.

Themberchaud rears his head back in shock, glaring at Eddrikk. "You dare insult me! I am irreplaceable! The Keepers would never try such a thing!" His shouts bellow through the cavern. He inhales deeply, and orange glow showing through his chest scales.

Somebody needs to make a social check or some other relevant action quick.

The dragon continues speaking without listening to the Littlefolk. "The Keepers have a task fir you. I have heard of their interest in you. Perform it but report to me before them. I will protect you while you are in Gracklstugh. Go now."

Themberchaud continues speaking without hearing Eddrikk. Surely, no one would reduce the honor of working for him. "I would of course reward you greatly. You will tell me what the Keepers are up to. I suspect they are witholding something from me."

The senior keep beckons you into his headquarters but then the great, bulky red form emerges from his cavern. His voice booms "Bring the surfacers to me Gartokar! I will speak with them in private!" The keeper bows and replies "Of course, O Father of the Flame." The dragon turns back into his lair, assuming you will follow. Inside is a spacious cavern lit with torches. The dragon reclines upon a massive pile of gold, platinum, and other treasures. The dragon turms lazily to you. "You have the honor to become my agents in Gracklstugh."

You have been running errands but that would constitute a short rest.

The great wyrm chuckles. "Indeed? I thought there might be. Come by my den. The keeperssss will ssssee you to me." With that, the dragon turns and walks off. You note that he is extremely heavy, as if accustomed to a rich diet.

A deep, smooth voice hisses from the dragon "Sssssoooo. I'm to dine on sssssurfaccccerssss tonight?"
