In response to the others, "That thing with the hammer, it attacked me. Did you not see it?"

TSP raises his katana in a blocking gesture. He blinks and he finds that he is not under attack.

"Did you not see that?"

He asks of the others.

For the GM

Spoiler:
Will Save 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14

TSP draws his katana and moves to skewer the skull through the eye sockets.

Grapple 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17

A full nelson or a sleeper hold...

TSP helps Shanoa.

"By the gods of the balance who hold sway over the threshold, I command you unclean spirit to be gone!"

And no, I don't do exorcisms.

Protection from Evil's not yet part of my repertoire.

TSP gladly hands the 20gp Jominda asks for.

TSP follows after Marta.

Simple in his approach to problems, his usual answer is rooted in violence.

"I will ask first: where can we find the weapons to defeat the ghosts of the haunted prison?"

Spoiler:
Arthur's reading through the records from city hall

"Yes the wife is dead. I think she died in the fire too. Somehow, she is the key."

"Anyways, we still have time to prepare, let's read these records."

"I was following up on a lead I discovered that the "V" refers to the warden's wife and I also found records pertaining to the criminals who died at the prison with the warden. If there are ghosts in the prison then studying these should give us an edge... somehow."

Sense Motive 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21

Spoiler:
"I think the Sheriff can take care of this. Come on guys let's leave them to sort this out."

"Kendra, please remain calm. We shall get to the bottom of this."

When Arthur arrives at Kendra's place he pays-off the man (he gets his name for future reference and transactions) and takes the box of documents. What do I find at the Kendra household?

"I would suppose that records of the prison will be available at the town hall. It's been an informative chat. If you recall anything else, you can reach me at Ms. Kendra Lottimor's place. Thank you.

Best of luck Michael.

I'll miss the air violin.

I'm fine with 5.

I just what I thought that "V" is related to the Warden. His wife, Vesoriana.

"I have a few more questions that I hope would shed more light on the character of the good warden."

"His wife, Vesoriana, died with him in Harrowstone, yes?"

"You suspect that the fire was started as means escape by these psychopaths to escape?"

"You wouldn't happen to know who these psychopaths were?"

DM Haldhin wrote:

I assume you are heading to see Jorfa...

Spoiler:
"I am a historian, an amateur to tell you the truth, and I am researching the history of the man for whom that statue in town was made. Umm... Warden Lyvar Hawkran, and I was wonder if you can tell me what you can about him so that my composition about him does him justice. I'll pay for your time." Arthur flashes a little gold.

DM Haldhin wrote:

@ Arthur:

Kendra thinks for a moment, "Well sir, I believe the town hall would have information on his family, at least their names if nothing else. More than that...well, Jorfa may have some information. I'm sure you can find her at her forge, she's always there from dawn to dusk. She was working in Ravengro when the prison was active, so she might have even known him personally."

"Yes, thank you. I will follow up on that. Breakfast can wait. I'll be off."

"Kendra, where can we know more about this: Warden Lyvar Hawkran?"

DM Haldhin wrote:

Kendra wakes you all around eight in the morning with breakfast hot and ready in her dining room. She informs you that the sheriff left a message asking you to meet with him at your convenience. It seems he wants to know if you found anything related to the bloody statue and the letter "V".

Other than that, it was an uneventful night. What would people like to do?

The Slaughter Priest manifests his intention of finding out more about the man for whom the statue where the "V" was found. "That statue. Who's statue is that?"

"Could that 'V' be related to the man, the one whose statue we found that at?"

Arthur returns to the Professor's house to use whatever reference material that may be there.

"Wait! The journal says that the Professor suspects that this is a hidden armory for those fighting this Whispering Way. Are these weapons we have discovered those that we seek?"

"Surely we can search a little longer?"

Take 20 anyone?

<Flicks whatever matter that may have sticked to the sword; Sheathing the katana with a flourish>

Attack 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21

Damage 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

The Slaughter Priest attacks the nearest hand.

Initiative 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

The Slaughter Priest draws the Professor's Gift and heads into the crypt.

Perception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

Can we here them scream now?

Just scream if you guys need rescuing hehehe

"What's keeping them so long?"

Shanoa wrote:
Shanoa had just started to take a step down into the crypt when called. She pauses and turns back, "Just inside - are you joining us?"

"The man at the Professor's grave wants to meet you and the others. He gave me this, says its from the Professor."

<Shows the Katana>

Not easily daunted, The Slaughter Priest declares, "Wait then and I shall summon them."

"Where are the others?" Arthur asks of Shanoa.

The Slaughter Priest steps forward to the man and takes the katana from him. "This will slice your balls off if you don't handle it right."

He takes a gold coin and tosses it to the man. "Your job is done."

Sense Motive 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18

Perception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

"You say that it is for the Professor, then I will take charge of this matter."

"Give the book to me."

Perception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21

The Slaughter Priest notes the presence of a man resting in front of the grave of the Professor. He finds that to be disrespectful and moves to shoo the man away.

"Ho! You there! Be on your way!"

Intimidate 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23

"May we have list of the people who died in the fire, please?"

"Michael should have it." The Slaughter Priest turns and follows Karl.

"I welcome a trip to the Temple."

The Slaughter Priest surmises that the "V" could be referring to a proper noun, a name perhaps. He then lets his body language communicate an aura of menace to the deputy, so that he will not even begin to come near him.

Intimidate 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18

The Slaughter Priest looks at the monument more closely.

Perception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25

I think I found something with that hehehe

Sense Motive/Perception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18

The Slaughter Priest guards his words by remaining silent. No use pitching more tinderwood to this open fire. But his hands itches to draw his sword and slice open this corrupt specimen of a politician.

Walking to the monument here....

"Roland, a blade dipped in holy water do you think it has a chance of harming a ghost?"

"Pardon my curiosity if it disturbs you but in my business knowledge of how to destroy a thing is just as important as protection."

"Let's go back to the monument. The act of vandalism suggests that it is important somehow."

"By the way, do you have strong ties with the Pharasman church?"

"Then we should look at this monument. After which we shall ask around about the Prison and the Temple of Pharasma."

The Slaughter Priest re-reads the Professor's Journal.

"Listen to this: The Professor suspected that this Whispering Way people were looking for something in the Harrowstone Prison, something that may prolong life or the semblance of it. The prison is now inhabited by ghosts whose identities could be the ones who died there during the fire. The tools for our protection against ghosts could be found in a false crypt in the Restlands at the intersection between Eversleep and the Black Path. If we do not stop this Whispering Way people then perhaps they and/or the ghosts of Harrowstone may pose an even greater threat to Ravengro."
