A lot of people seem to refer to the temporally closest Monday as 'this Monday', with 'next Monday' being the one following that. So on Friday, 'this Monday' would be three days hence, and 'next Monday' would be ten days hence.(Mind you, I think they're *wrong* when they do that, but I've run into a lot of people who do. :))
Yeah; that's who I was arguing with there......
I think the ultimate win, though, came with a self realization that MY communication was flawed in that it left the possibility of being misunderstood.
I just thought the whole situation would make an interesting thought experiment here, seeing as some of the conflict I see on the internet can be directly linked to subtle misunderstandings. Ther'es ZERO body language on an internet forum, for instance; no facial changes, no subtle voice modulations whatsoever.
A lot of it, too, can be due to anonymous people being asses, but hey....I have no control over that, besides that for which I am responsible.
Don't worry. Common misunderstandings happen. For those who choose to be asses...they're on at least one of our lists. (We have several.)
