Ah heck, sorry everyone.

The chaos of my move out of state just completely shut me out of anything else I had going on for longer than I expected.

I finally got to a point of having something resembling free time in the evening. Very sad to see this game died out and that I contributed to that.

@Brolof: I think you did really well with some stuff in this! I particularly liked your scene-setting and the way you wrote the NPCs.

I hope you and the others are still around for the Emerald Spire game I was running. Will be checking in on that one shortly.

Presuming we are following the voices, The Imp will continue to take the lead. She hums to herself, trying to match the singing the group can hear. It would seem she is rather tone-deaf. This does not dampen her enthusiasm.

Taking a cue from Scarlet, The Imp moves tot he front of the group, and taking her best estimation of a heroic tone, "I think Ms. Scarlet's right, these stairs look quest-worthy!"

She seems to be consciously attempting to improve her own and the group's morale.

Unless anyone has any objections, The Imp is going to begin leading the group up the stairs.

Richard's got the best Perception, and his AC is currently slightly higher than mine if he's still got Shield up. He can take point if he feels comfortable doing that, otherwise I will (my Perception is solid, though not the best. We've got a fairly sharp-eyed group overall).

The Imp heeds Scarlet's words and hangs back while Richard investigates. Her eyes wander, taking in the cave. "Have any of you ever seen a cave like this? I sure haven't. It's so smooth!" She muses, referring to the cave's eerily perfect shape. "But I haven't seen too much of the world yet. Maybe they just have smooth caves here?"

Frowning, thanks both to Dropi's devious and uncooperative words as well as her companion's arguments, The Imp scuttles ahead as the party enters the cave. "Best for me to be up front... so I can scare anyone who comes after us." Her joke doesn't quite achieve her usual level of mirth.

"This cave is strange," she says in consternation. "And as best I can tell, Bran up and vanished right here." She gestures to where the tracks end abruptly.

The Imp fidgets, understanding that she's not the best equipped for handling a tenuous negotiation with a pond monster.

She remains alert, her small fists balled at the ready, in the event the conversation takes an unfortunate turn.

Ah, that sounds like a real mess, I'm sorry.

I've got some busy-making developments of my own: My wife and I's out of state move got, for various reasons, moved from end of December to end of September so we suddenly have an awful lot to take care of. Everything is ultimately for the better, we're just quite under the gun now.

I'll do my best to get posts in whenever possible, and double that effort if we are in combat. That said, if you need to bot me for an attack roll or something at some point I will not take offense.

"We're not peasants, we're heroes!" The Imp states indignantly, placing her fists on her hips.

"Are you Mr. Nuglub? Did you eat any villagers?" She fixes the aquatic creature with a steely glare.

The Imp's eyes move to and from each of her party members as they discuss their findings and the potential dangers, doing her best to absorb all of the information.

Her eyes then move to the pond, then the cave.

Once there is a break in the conversation, she observes in a flat and cheerless voice: "If there's bait in the pond, then maybe whatever lives in the cave likes to eat in the water."

"I think it's best to try and help Bran before going after Mr. Nuglub," The Imp affirms. Whether or not she still thinks "Nuglub" is the creature's proper name or has merely began addressing it as such as an affectation is unclear.

"My eyes are pretty sharp, but not nearly as sharp as Richard's and I don't have Carwel's know-how. Maybe I should be up front with one of them so they can lead the way, but I'll protect 'em!" She emphasizes the conclusion of her sentence with a brief shadowbox.

A slight, concerned frown washes across The Imp's face as she approaches the point where the drag marks begin in the underbrush, attempting to see if there's any indication of what did the dragging.

The Imp's expression suddenly becomes very serious when Carwel mentions striking out on his own.

"Maybe I should go with you? We don't know if Mr. Nuglub is still nearby. And we could take Bones with us. Scarlet's idea to borrow Abraham is a good one, they should get back to us in no time."

Pausing again for a moment, her big smile breaks out again. "It'll be like a game to see how fast your horse is! Maybe we can time him?", she concludes with a giggle.

The Imp wakes groggily and rubbing the sleep from her eyes, but within minutes is up and active. She mills about the camp, checking her pack and saying cheery "Good morning!"s to the rest of the group.

At Richard's mention of returning to town to specialize their arsenal, she frowns slightly. "I do better without weapons," she states in a conflicted tone.

"Oh, right! Just a minute!"

She runs off to get water from the stream.

"Well if this Nuglub guy gives us any trouble, Bones and I will scare him off. Before we worry about watches, though, we gotta eat! I've got a lot of really nice spices on me..." She pats her magical haversack.

"...if someone can scare us up some meat, I could make us a real nice dinner!"

Seeing that Carwel has wandered off a bit, she looks to Scarlet and Richard, affecting an exaggeration of an academic expression by cupping a hand on her chin: "Do you think the big bird knows how to hunt?"

Richard's discovery proves to be interesting enough to finally pull The Imp away from her many unsuccessful attempts to play with Bones.

She scampers up to join the Scarlet and Richard examining the hair. "Gremlins? What are those? Are they like devils? Or demons? And this one's name is Nuglub? Do you know him? Could he help us? Or is he a baddie?" Her battery of questions finally comes to an end, though it's entirely possible that's due simply to her need to finally inhale.

Apologies! A big pile of work just came down the pipeline at my job and my wife just began working on baker's hours, so I'm having to re-adjust where my free time lands. My posts might be slightly spotty the next week or so, but shouldn't be any less frequent than once every 36 hours.

The Imp began giggling the moment she saw the pig.

"Look at you! I bet you have so many friends with a face like that!"

When the pig knocks Scarlet over, The Imp practically squeals with delight, but quickly attempts to restrain herself. "Now now! Everyone likes to roughhouse, but now isn't the time." A slight giggle still escapes every few words or so.

When Jirda mentions the pig's name, The Imp rolls it around in her mouth a few times, saying it with varying different inflections.

During the walk she sticks close to Bones, attempting to pet her whenever possible while respectfully trying to stay out of her way. "We're sure to succeed now, with such an expert snout on our team!", she praises the swine with enthusiasm.

The Imp would like to explore the town because she's just sort of excited about... everything. But if the rest of the party elects to wait at the shrine she'll join them with no protestation.

The Imp sidles up to Richard, still hoping to keep a low-profile with the Jarl and other occupants of the longhouse. She tugs on the investigator's sleeve. "If we head out tonight, you could bathe in the stream! I bet it's nice and chilly.", she suggests with a smile.

Once inside the longhouse The Imp does her best to keep her hood down and stay towards the back, though anyone paying attention to her would easily see that she's practically vibrating in her effort to keep quiet and still. Despite this, she watches the exchange acutely.

Does it seem like there might be some aspect of the mystery the Jarl is holding back from us?

Despite her small stride, The Imp proves preternaturally quick on her feet and easily keeps up with the rest of the group.

She becomes briefly concerned when she realizes Scarlet isn't with them, though when she looks behind her is relieved to see she is simply mingling with the locals. A half-moment of melancholy crosses her face. Possibly due to envy?

Electing to put her mind elsewhere, she walks up beside Glim, slowing her pace to his. "I like your hair! I've met some gnomes before, but none that looked quite like you."

The Imp finally lets Intrepid out of her sight, responding to Scarlet with a giggle. "Those are all new ones for me! 'Imp' alone is fine, but I like those too. Use what you like!"

Whoops, sorry I missed that one Scarlet. I think you posted as I was writing mine.

As the ship prepares to make landfall The Imp runs to wherever she can get a good view of the approaching shore, laughing whenever the sea spray catches her and marveling at the sailors going about their tasks.

Seeing the pigs running about the shore, she squeals in delight.

"Yes! Disappearances, very sad. Those poor people. The ones who disappeared and the ones who can't find them. I heard about it in Trollheim, and came to help. I'm very good at dealing with troublemakers!"

She continues to circle Carwel and gaze at Intrepid. "Though with such an incredible bird on the job, I'm sure everything will be fixed in no time!" She grins raptly at the bird, the bottom half of her face a sea of tiny, sharp teeth. The sad, atrophied wings on her back flap weakly in excitement.

Tearing her eyes away from Richard's lab equipment at Scarlet's introduction, the diminutive Tiefling's eyes go wide with excitement: people were rarely so polite to her.

"Everyone calls me The Imp! Even myself. It was given to me, but then I chose it."

She follows Scarlet's gaze towards Carwel and his companion. "Big bird." She sounds almost transfixed.

When Carwel approaches to speak with the others The Imp begins circling him, trying to Intrepid from all sides.

The Imp had spent the majority of the trip ensconced in an out-of-the-way nook between some of the longship’s cargo, deep in meditation.

Well, not as deep as she should have been.

Eventually, her excitement boiled over. The little Tiefling had never been so far north - so far anywhere before. She sprung to her feet and began making her way to the front of the boat.

She peppered greetings and rhetorical small talk along the way to any crew or passengers she maneuvered around.

”Beautiful day, isn’t it?”

”Its so cold this far north! Isn’t it lovely?”

She maneuvers past Scarlet and Richard as they converse. Eyeing Richard’s strange laboratory equipment, she exclaims: ”That’s a strange kitchen you’ve got with you mister! I bet you can make all sorts of different food with that.”

The Imp is roughly the height of a shorter Halfling, under three feet. She’s dressed in simple robes, colored and patterned in the manner of adherents to Irori. Her hood was up, and from under it she offered Richard a great, toothy smile. Her skin was covered in rough, uneven scales and her eyes were a jaundiced yellow. Her hood tented towards the front, indicating the presence of horns and a tail trailed behind her. The mouth grinning up at Richard was half again too wide, and overflowing with tiny, pointed teeth.

Agreed. A large enough volley is probably just about as good backup as having someone else at the front with me. Not to mention the super deluxe goodness that is Witch debuffs.

Tbh with my character focused on scattering enemies around the battlefield, a big pile of ranged support might work really well.

Ok! The Imp here is completely done - fluff to crunch.

Background isn't my best writing - lost a bunch of it due to a miss-click (I know better, should have typed it in docs first and then pasted, but alas) so had to put it back together while frustrated and sleepy.

I've gone over the sheet a few times, but I may have (probably) missed something, so please hit me with any feedback you think is important.

Oh, also, I had a hard time actually spending all of my gold lol.
