Duke Leto Atredies wrote: "Who are you calling old! You scoundrel, it must be time for cigars and brandy." "Cigars and Brandy, you say?" A grizzled man steps forth from the shadows. "Well, that sounds like a fine offer."

PBP allows analysis of patterns that you don't get at the table, and organization increases the odds of the town, so both the extra analysis, PMs, and clique culture lead to an unbalance in the favor of the town. In those 7 games, Hamish, was it only the first game, that would have lacked the the same organization among the players, where the mafia won?

"Ha! That's a deal, boy, you bring the drink and we'll sit down to a right good meal and share some stories." the General tips his glass to the southern gentleman.

"Well, lad", the General responds to Thadius, "I don't rightly do much of nothing since I retired, 'cept sit on my porch when the weather is nice. I'm not from Louisiana, but I spent a little time there. Years ago I hired a lovely maid that treats me better than I deserve, when I'm lucky she makes a pot of etouffee, a right bit of incentive to keep an old man like me in line, I tell you."

"Ah heck, I got a flask, good stuff too." The General pulls a silver flask from an inner coat pocket and passes it to the Baker, "Seems right to be sharing what I got, 'Irish' up everyone's drink, if they be wanting it."

"Aye, the Duke speaks true, a well fed man is a happy man, and that makes the Baker's offer that much more important. There, lad," the General calls out to Jin, "Bring some of those rolls for all of us. If we're to be locked up here 'til the Mafioso's are dead, then let us break bread and sit together while we sort out this mess."

"Well, I can't say I ever encountered either badgermen or chicken people in all of my campaigns, but I'd have to think they wouldn't get along too well. Maybe the sheriff was working with one of them groups and the other got wind of it, maybe his murder had nothing to do with being a sheriff and everything to do with the impending badgermen and chicken people war! We better start preparing, war is all about preparation." Though the General talks big, he doesn't put down his drink, or even lean forward in his chair.

"Look at this bickering rabble," the General tilts his glass towards the Duke, "Proof right there that Eugenics is sound practice." "You, girl", waggling his glass at Clara, "I've had callouses that had callouses, you ever had those, eh?" (for the record, Eugenics is absolutely horrible)

The old relic meanders into the square, the tattered stiff collar of his faded military coat brushing against the greasy bristles of his gray beard. Lines of experience etch his face, along with a few scars from narrowly adverted fates. The clink of glasses and the scent of flaming toast draws his attention. "Mint Julips and flaming cheese, before sundown, and in troubled times like these? A tragedy! These soft youngsters don't know what we struggled through, when I was there age I'd hike through the desert with naught but a bag of hot peppers to eat. And they were delicious! Better than any flaming cheese on toast I'd wager, though if you'd like me to compare I would be glad to assist." |
