It's my cable supplier, my internet keeps disconnecting. A mechanic is coming to my house next week to check everything.

Ozak, looking a bit annoyed, starts to answer Ozak’s question when Svetlana starts to cry.

That b~~@# stole my wedding ring! I want it back Oleg.

Putting his arm around his wife Oleg tries to comfort her.

There, there my dear…..it’s just a ring. I’m just grateful they didn’t take you.

Guys, sorry for the absence. Life and my internet connection are the reason. Will post later this evening.

"So, Oleg we were given a few 'Commisions' that we were told could be turned in here, do you know anything about all of that? and possibly would you know anything about any of them (the shrine, the demonic boar, the tatzlwyrm, and probably the easiest the bandits) also any information and advice on the surrounding area would be greatly appreciates" I say as politely as possible trying to eat a bit occasionally.

@ Jamahzin Looking up from his bowl of stew Oleg studies Jamahzin intently, then his features relax. Offering a smile even he says I’m sorry for my gruff reactions earlier, I’m a bit apprehensive about strangers especially ones coming from Restov. Long story but I started this trading post to get away from the political backstabbing and lies I was accustomed to in Restov.

Yes I know of the commissions, we received word from Leonard that a new group would be arriving. Three of them can be found in the forest southwest of here. The last one, the bandits, I’m not sure. The sadistic leader of a group of bandits roams around a lot I think. Don’t know where their base of operations is.

Ozak "Badaxe" Daggertooth wrote:

"Yes, that's right. We were sent to explore the lands to the south, kill bandits, and to hunt bounties. They even gave us a pretty piece of paper to show off. Not that we need that to kill bandits." Ozak pulls out his charter, showing off the royal seal on it. If either of the Levetons ask to see it he hands it over.

"Anyway, if you can tell us about the lay of the land around here that would speed things up," Ozak smiles with his toothy grin.

@ Ozak Oleg takes the charter from you and studies it for a few moments before returning.

This largely uncharted region is filled with dangerous animals and monsters. I personally haven’t ventured beyond this fort but I have heard rumors of a small kobold tribe that controls a piece of the Greenbelt.

Assuming this was addressed to me. "Nice to meet you, I'm Roonie!"

@ Roonfizzle No, I meant Jamahzin.

Startled at the sudden appearance of the gnome Svetlana looks around for more persons to pop up out of nowhere. Nice to meet you too Roonie, come inside for some food and drink. while muttering to herself…. Sneaky little fellows, those gnomes and halflings.

Over Dinner while amidst the discussions.

"We're also looking for some folks last seen in this general area, perhaps you might know something of where they might have last been seen, generally speaking? We're looking for another group from Restov, a human female barbarian named Amiri, a dwarven ranger named Harsk, a gnome named Lini and a human male monk named Sajan. I'm also looking for a pair that settled in this area some 75ish years ago, perhaps a bit more West of here. A Lady Brigid and Lord Agnor of House Lebeda?. I've been trying to trace their path for the last decade or so, and I believe I'm finally close!"

Yeah they were here about a 3 months ago. The stayed for the night before moving on to explore the Greenbelt. Never heard from them since. Never heard of a Lady Brigid or a lord named Agnor, we’ve just been here ourselves for about 5 months.

Oleg’s Trading Post:

Oleg’s Trading Post

Known buildings/locations

A2 Guesthouse, where you have rented rooms and enjoyed you’re baths.

A3 Stable, where you’re mounts are kept.

A6 Main Hall.

A7 Dining Room, where you are currently enjoying Svetlana’s stew.

After a refreshing bath and/or a couple of drinks you are all enjoying dinner at the aforementioned dining room. Svetlana hasn’t lied about her cooking skills as her stew is delicious. Beside you 5 and Oleg and Svetlana there are no other people around, you’re also the only guests.
Beside a still grumpy Oleg the mood is good. Svetlana asks the woman all about the current gossip and news from Restov and Oleg’s questions the men about the trip. I know, stereotypical of me!
After a couple of more drinks the Levetons excuse themselves to go to bed.
If I’m going to fast let me know! Any questions you have for Oleg or Svetlana I will answer before starting tomorrow morning.

Impressive axe! Svetlana says while exchanging glances with her husband. Oleg please help them with their animals. Turning towards Ciana and Zartana. Ladies shall I run baths for you both?

Nice to meet you too. You have me at a disadvantageous as you know my name but I don’t know yours my lady.

Nodding at Ciana after hearing her nice words Oleg takes the reins and escorts the animals to the side to take care of them.

Let’s talk some more over dinner after everyone has freshened up. Svetlana says with a genuine smile on her face.

I’m sorry sir, didn’t notice you standing there. Nice to meet you too.

BTW Dutch, maybe you could give a description of the post. FYI I'm not sure if you are aware but you can post information and links above the tabs that say "Campaign Info" etc. You can also edit the Campaign Info page.

If you are using the standard layout of Oleg's, there are lots of images available online, like this one: http://www.lby3.com/dnd/images/5/5e/Oleg's_Trading_Post.jpg

@ Ozak Still figuring things out. Not sure on how to approach the map problem yet. Image posted is fine. I’m using the standard layout.

BTW Dutch GM I could use a ruling here.

Look at this: Orc Trail Rations
1. The rules for this item talk about making it harder to resist an intimidate check. Except that there is never a roll to resist an intimidate check; only a roll to make an intimidate check. Would this just add a +2 to my roll instead?
2. It says I have to keep eating these for at least a week to gain the benefit. Does that mean I can't partake of the meal offered at Oleg's to retain the benefit?
3. How many days rations should I deduct for the trip from Restov to Oleg's?

@ Ozak 1. Sure. 2. Yes, to eat at Oleg’s is to lose your bonus. 3. Deduct 5 days.

Been studying a bit... and i think AA is a bit meh. If GM allows, I wish to change my class and feats? And change my dex/str/con

If he needs to know what :
Changing to fighter (weapon master)/magus ( eldritch blade) so my CHA stays same.
17 str. 12dex. 15 con
I rather want to try to go Pain Taster. So 2 feats will change too
I know its rather hectic change. Thats why i bring it up before game really gets going.
The rest can also give input on this idea
If it wont fit. Ill stick to my current leveling path :)

@ Zartana I want you all to play what you want. Make the change…..you’re like our group’s Bruce Jenner…….

Sorry guys, been a bit hectic. I'm here again, just posted. Let's get going again.

After entering the gate you’re greeted by a beautiful middle-aged woman. Welcome to Oleg’s, travelers.

Upon seeing Zartana she flinches a bit but quickly regains her composure.

What can I do for you? Are you here for trade or staying the night? If you’re hungry, I’m making a wonderful stew at the moment. Oleg dear! Guests have arrived.

From behind one the side buildings an older man comes into sight. He walks toward you with a slight limp, holding a walking cane. He looks a bit annoyed and looks at you with a stern gaze.

Knowledge Local:

Oleg’s trading post is run by a Oleg Leveton and his wife Svetlana. They also received a charter from Restov to rebuild the fort into a trading post. They have been here for about 4 months. They mostly deal with the local hunters and trappers.

Roonfizzle Garnackle wrote:
I did not see a response to the question of "Is this one pouch of 211gp, or five pouches?"

My bad, each of you receives a scroll case and a small bag. So everyone gets the 211 gold as spending money.

As for our group, I had hoped to chat with one another prior to leaving the city. Considering that we really do not know each other and there is a Drow (most know as quite evil) and a kobold (also normally evil). There was some good roleplaying opportunity there to alleviate potential issues working together. Not to mention letting one another know how we might works best together.

@ Ciana/Jamahzin My apologies, I agree with you both but some posts gave me the impression that the group wanted to move on. Please feel free to use the journey to Oleg’s or you’re first night at Oleg’s to role-play some more.

Jamahzin wrote:
Could I possibly swap out my fighter level for a mageknight level (another sphere class), just feel like I'd get everything I want from a fighter from it plus a bit more.

@ Jamahzin Please send me the mageknight also please? So I can read it this weekend.

Zartana wrote:
Will you allow a River Elk as a mount? Combat trained it should be the same price as a combat trained heavy warhorse?

@ Zartana Sure, no problem.

Very well. Eager I like that. Leonard says when you get ready to leave. Best of luck to you all. Hope to speak to all of you soon. Sitting down he resumes eating again while his butler shows you the door.

After gathering at the western gate you set course to Oleg’s trading post.

After an uneventful journey that takes you through the southern lands of Rostland you arrive at the last bastion of civilization before entering the Greenbelt, Oleg's Trading Post.

Oleg’s Trading Post looks like a small fort and is surrounded by a wooden palisade that stands 10 feet high. At each corner of the palisade are watchtowers, each armed with a run-down catapult. There’s one entrance through the palisade, a 30-foot-wide wooden gate.

Jamahzin wrote:
"ughm, Ruby Wizard, sir, how exactly will we notify you of the completion of these commissions, and then also receive the reward?"

Jamahzin is it? I hope I pronounce it right. There is a trading post called Oleg’s run by Oleg Leveton and his wife Svetlana. Leave word of completion with them. You can collect you’re reward a week later.

Yes, I did. Haven't read it though. Will do ASAP.

Not just brawn and…. Looking at the gnomes and kobold. Tiny muscles!

Smiling at his own joke Leonard grabs his lower back to stand up straight. The smile quickly disappears as the painful maneuver reminds him of his own fragility and old age.

Why me you ask? I’m a close friend of the lord mayor, I advise him of different topics. I didn’t agree with the first group but it wasn’t my choice to make. After the apparent failure of the first group I was able to convince the lord mayor to think outside the box and let me make a second group, more capable of surviving in the Greenbelt.

Grabbing the glass of wine in front of him Leonard takes a sip and continues.

The Greenbelt is an hostile place where banditry and lawlessness are common, where monsters and wild animals roam free and unrestricted but also a land of infinite resources and possibilities.

Why you? Picture this, a group of bandits or a clan of kobolds sees a dreaded drow female come at them, flanked by an axe-wielding screaming half-orc. A small man changes in front of their eyes into a dragon while out of nowhere behind them a gnome appears. All accompanied by an inspiring battle hymn. I would run instead of face those…..again for a better word monsters.
I chose you 5 because you complement each other while possessing some unique powers and/or skillsets.

I need 5 minutes to relax, I haven’t eaten all day.

Ciana:

Knowledge Local,

A local outlaw named the Stag Lord is rumored to claim a large part of the Greenbelt as his own.

Knowledge Nobility,

Never heard of the Orlovsky family.

Knowledge Local,

A local outlaw named the Stag Lord is rumored to claim a large part of the Greenbelt as his own.

Leonard the Ruby Wizard is an advisor and long-time friend of the lord mayor. Rumors suggest he receives his power from a large red ruby on his cane which he found as a young man while exploring an old tomb. There is even talk that a living being resides in the ruby as it’s prisoner.

Knowledge Nobility,

The Orlovsky family controls a large part of the northeast of Brevoy. Their house crest is a black eagle with wings spread in front of a gold field. Their motto is ‘High Above’

After quietly enjoying some different kinds of meat Leonard empties his glass of wine in a single gulp.

The other groups send were Iron Wraiths, an experienced group of adventurers, mercenaries led by low-ranking swordlord named Maegar Varn and the last group consists diplomats and high-raking soldiers from Brevoy.

The group sent to the Greenbelt consist of a human female barbarian named Amiri, a dwarven ranger named Harsk, a gnome named Lini and a human male monk named Sajan.

Besides the charter the scroll case contained 4 commissions which are imperative to your mission. Complete all 4 will give you extra money, equipment and most importantly goodwill and reputation. You will have allies in the city who you can call on for extra jobs and information.

Commission 1:

To any loyal servant of Erastil, hidden somewhere in the area known as the Greenbelt is a small shrine of dedicated to our lord. Find it and share the location with a servant of Erastil and you’ll be rewarded.

Reward 400 GP, wand of Cure Light Wounds.

Commission 2:

To any able hunter, a prize for the person who shows proof of the demise of Tuskgutter, an ill-tempered demonic boar. The beast is responsible for crippling my son while on a hunting trip.

Rewards 500 GP, 2 masterwork weapons of choice.

Commission 3:

Components needed, scales of the elusive tatzlwyrm. Anyone who brings me 20 scales from the runt of the draconic family will be rewarded by coin and spell.

Rewards 400 GP, wand of Shield.

Commission 4:

Wanted, dead or alive. Kressle, sadistic leader of a group of bandits operating in the Greenbelt. Responsible for the deaths of several caravan guards.

Rewards 400 GP, 2 potions of cure moderate wounds.

Welcome lady Orlovsky! Leonard says while returning the smile. The reason for not responding is unknown to me. They should have checked in every month as per the original agreement. They haven't so far, so they are presumed captured, dead or lost.

Banditry is indeed one of the major problems in the Greenbelt. One I hope you lot can rectify.

Could U all use the same way of posting vital stats for easy reference for me.

Name Class Level | HP 10/10 | AC N T FF | CMB +1 CMD 11 | F+1 R+1 W+1 | INIT +1 | PERC +1

You all answered the call from the lord mayor of Restov for brave adventurers to explore and claim a part of the Stolen Lands, the Greenbelt. For unknown reasons you were not selected for one of the coveted spots.

Now 3 months later you are summoned to a tower at the edge of Restov. Invitation in hand you knock at the door. A manservant opens the door. Invitation please. He asks. He then escorts you to a small dining room. You sit at a table filled with food and drink. Looking around you see a strange looking assortment of people.

An old frail-looking man enters the room, supporting himself with a cane. Straightening his back he locks eyes with each one of you for a couple of seconds. His eyes radiate with power. My name is Leonard, also known as the Ruby Wizard. You are wondering why you were summoned? Good question.

You have all been given a second chance at greatness. 3 months ago 4 groups of adventurers were send into the stolen lands. We have been in contact with most except one, the group we sent into the Greenbelt. Pausing for a moment to let the words sink in. We want you to take their place and do what they couldn’t.

The butler hands out to each of you a scroll case and a small bag.

Scroll case:

The scroll case contains a charter giving you the right to explore the area known as the Greenbelt and four commissions.

Small bag:

Small bag contains money, 10 pp, 100 gp, 100 sp and 100 cp.

Any questions?

I guess the major question I have on that front, is how you feel about magic item crafting Dutch DM? I know that of any AP, KM has LOTS of down time for crafting.... I intend to keep craft (Traps), as a skill that I continue to put ranks in, and the feat would allow me to take and make Arms and Armor and/or Wonders. What are your feelings on this?

@Roonfizzle I have no problem with magic item crafting, we will discuss it more when we arrive at that point later on in the campaign

Hi, I have made my decision. The following characters will be part of this epic journey into unknown territories where fame and riches await the brave and daring.
