N/A Warforged Factotum 8

Lower Floor:
Teyth observes for a moment and then joins in attempting to open the doors, probably stymied by the fact that he lacks a nose.

N/A Warforged Factotum 8

Teyth is following Raegar (and his vaunted nose) unless something especially interesting becomes apparent.

N/A Warforged Factotum 8

Teyth will follow, looking down each side passage as he passes it, until reaching the ladder.

DM:
Is there any writing on the walls, labeling various rooms or anything like that?

N/A Warforged Factotum 8

Spellcraft:1d20 + 17 ⇒ (1) + 17 = 18

Teyth follows Raegar down the hallway which his nose has chosen, his metal talons curiously silent on the metal floor.

Stealth:1d20 + 14 ⇒ (16) + 14 = 30

DM:
[/ooc]On the way down the stairs, Teyth is probably examining the walls, first determining if the glow is intrinsic to whatever material they are made of or if it is from some other source.[/ooc]

Knowledge(Arcana):1d20 + 15 ⇒ (19) + 15 = 34
[ooc]Knowledge(Engineering):1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26

IT IS NOT NECESSARILY FLOATING, RAEGAR. WE COULD VERY WELL BE IN THE UPPER REACHES OF A STRUCTURE BUILT ON THE OCEAN FLOOR.

Teyth also enters the room and absolutely silently does a full circuit of the walls, motioning Raegar to stay still until he has completed his inspection.

I CONCUR, XERAN. RAEGAR, IT APPEARS THAT THE ISLAND IS RETRACTING BELOW THE SURFACE OF THE OCEAN; THE DOME HAS PRESUMABLY CLOSED TO PROTECT YOU FROM THE OUR NEW SUBMARINE POSITION. With that in the way of explanations Teyth continues down the staircase very much uncaring whether everyone else is eager to follow him or not.

N/A Warforged Factotum 8

I DO NOT KNOW. MY CREATORS ARE NO LONGER EXTANT, SO PERHAPS THIS SHELTER WAS INTENDED AS A REFUGE FROM THE CALAMITY WHICH BEFELL THEM. RAEGAR, SHALL WE INSPECT THE REST OF THIS REFUGE?

N/A Warforged Factotum 8

AH, RAEGAR, WELCOME TO THIS ISLAND. LOOK AT THIS STRUCTURE, IT APPEARS TO ME NEARLY OF AN AGE WITH MYSELF.

Teyth continues looking down the staircase along with Verrin.

Perception:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17

N/A Warforged Factotum 8

RAEGAR, WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? THROW THE ANCHOR, OTHERWISE HOW WILL YOU MEET THE INHABITANTS OF THIS ISLAND?

The Island:
INGENIOUS. Teyth thinks for a moment on the subject of humanoid noses before moving to look down the stairs in the center of the dome.

N/A Warforged Factotum 8

Island:
THE WRITING IS COMMON, ALBEIT THE ANCIENT QUADRAPATIAN FORM THEREOF. IT READS:
REFUGE 13
FOR ADMITTANCE APPLY FORESNOUT.

As he recites the text on the sign, Teyth's voice takes on what you assume is a perfect recreation of the accent of the ancient people who wrote it.
NOW WOULD YOU PLEASE AID ME IN ALLOWING MY COMPANION TO DOCK HIS SHIP.

N/A Warforged Factotum 8

ONE MOMENT, PLEASE, APOLOGIES. Teyth shouts back.

Island:
Teyth then begins examining the dome and especially the writing on it, only then proceeding on to examine the island itself.

DM:
Can I read the script, or just identify it? Also, what sort of magic can raise islands from the sea floor as this island appears to have been raised? Presumably the answer is EPIC.

N/A Warforged Factotum 8

Island:
Teyth looks at Waynab for a moment. THIS ISLAND IS WHERE THE MYSTERIES LIE. THERE ARE THINGS TO BE LEARNED HERE; THERE IS NOTHING TO BE LEARNED ON THE PENELOPE.

Teyth greets both Xeran and Zoggie with a handshake SALUTATIONS, I AM TEYTH'ANDRASKEHAR. IT HAS BEEN LONG SINCE I SAW ONE OF YOUR KIND, MEPHIT. He turns back to Xeran. DO YOU HAVE ANY INSIGHTS OR OBSERVATIONS ON THE NATURE OF THIS ISLAND?

He then turns to shout towards Raegar circling the island.

RAEGAR, IT WOULD BE OF VALUE FOR YOU TO MAKE THE ACQUAINTANCESHIP OF THE INHABITANTS OF THIS ISLAND.

N/A Warforged Factotum 8

Hey look I'm on an island too!:
Tayth less than gracefully hauls himself onto the island and stands before Verrin and Waynab and Xeran. GREETINGS VERRIN AND WAYNAB AND... Tayth pauses, clearly trying to remember a name he does not know before plowing ahead in his smooth and inhuman voice. I FIND YOUR ISLAND QUITE FASCINATING, CAN YOU TELL ME ANYTHING ABOUT IT?

N/A Warforged Factotum 8

Raegar or Perception DC ~25:
Profession(Sailor):1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Perception:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16
Knowledge(Engineering):1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17

Tayth surveys the island in a manner which would be unblinking even if he had eyelids, searching in vain for a place to dock the boat. RAEGAR, PLEASE EXCUSE ME FOR ONE MOMENT. I APOLOGIZE. And without further ado he leaps overboard making the easy swim towards the island in a practiced manner.

Tayth says something which you cannot make out from shore and then leaps over the side of the boat in a flash of silver and begin weaving his way through the water in a streak nearly indistinguishable from the silvery reflections of light on the waves.

Swim:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16. Can we just assume that I can reach the island eventually since I would have to roll a -3 to actually sink, assuming that these waters are calm.

N/A Warforged Factotum 8

Out for a Sail:
Perception:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20

Tayth clearly sees the fireworks going off on the island. RAEGAR, THERE ARE SPELLS EMANATING FROM THE ISLAND IN QUESTION. I HYPOTHESIZE THAT THEY ARE TRYING TO SIGNAL US, ALTERNATE HYPOTHESIS, THEY HAVE EXTREMELY POOR AIM. I AM MOVING TO INVESTIGATE. RAEGAR, ARE YOU EVEN AWARE THAT I AM SPEAKING. Tayth proceeds to steer the boat towards the island, completely oblivious to the fact that he may have just said something which could be construed as a joke.
How long will it take the boat to reach the island? If Raegar does not intervene in however long it takes I will continue on course to the island. If Raegar objects, I will change course and at the earliest opportunity jump overboard and make my way to the island myself.

N/A Warforged Factotum 8

DM:
Looking at the strange island, can I tell what the people on it are doing. Are they signalling us, trying to hide from us, completely oblivious to your presence, etc.?

N/A Warforged Factotum 8

On a Boat:
Tayth stands motionless at the helm of the Penelope. If one did not observe him long enough to see him make an occasional arm movement to adjust the course of the ship, one might wonder why the owner of this ship had installed a statue in that particular location. Suddenly, he speaks in a smooth and fairly non-human voice. RAEGAR, I BELIEVE THAT THE ISLAND AHEAD OF US IS ABERRANT. I CANNOT RECALL IT BEING ON ANY CHARTS OF THIS AREA. ADDITIONALLY THERE APPEAR TO BE PEOPLE UPON IT. PERHAPS THEY KNOW WHY IT IS HERE.

Perception:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22
Knowledge(Geography):1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
Knowledge(Engineering):1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25

LET US ROCK THIS TOGETHER, RAEGAR AND FELLOW ADVENTURERES.

Damn, It's going to be annoying to do Teyth's voice, but it looks pretty much like how he would talk.

Here is the crunch on Helthos. Description and Backstory coming soon...

Also, Ronin, are there rules in Pathfinder for having a bayonet on my crossbow? I think that would be pretty cool.
