Guys, I am not sure how successful we can be against jellies. Absolutely no idea. But if this would be something we could help them with now, and continue on our journey in the morrow, Terion would be up for it. I guess it depends on the amount of jellies? "Well met Master Dwarves Dinger and Daggit Coalfist. I am Terion from Hommlet" - he introduces himself - "How many jellies are we talking about here? A night's work?"

As the group reached the end of the thick grass and stepped back onto the rough paving stones, Terion glanced at the sky, noting the encroaching darkness. "Elmo, Freya, you've got the most experience in the wilds. What do you think? Is there a safe place nearby where we can set up camp and shield ourselves from the storm?" I suggest we make camp with the same watches as before.

Terion stepped forward, his eyes reflecting both determination and concern. "Aunt Agnes, we appreciate your generosity and the ointments you’ve provided. They will surely be of great help." He took a moment to glance at the group, ensuring they were all prepared and in position. Turning back to Agnes, he continued, "We’re not just here by chance. Herrod, the father of the young healer Dawn, asked us to check on you. He’s very concerned for your safety and mentioned that you might need assistance." He gestured to the roof, "Seeing the damage, we can tell that you’ve had a close encounter. Herrod said you’ve been having monster trouble and haven’t been able to come to town. We’re here to help you deal with these threats and ensure your safe return to town. Herrod has room for you, and it would greatly benefit Dawn to have you there to guide her in her healing abilities."

Terion smiled as he saw the group coming together, each member contributing in their own way. Boram’s practical approach, Herala’s hopeful ideas, and Elmo’s quiet strength filled him with a sense of purpose. "Thank you, Elmo," Terion said, appreciating the man's experience and willingness to guide them. "Your knowledge will be invaluable as we navigate the region." He turned to Herala, giving her a reassuring smile. "We’ll take advantage of every resource we have. With Elmo leading and all of us working together, we can handle whatever comes our way." Watching Jairdan examine the tins, Terion was curious about their significance. He gave a nod of thanks when the warlock used their magic to clean him. "Good thinking, Jairdan. Any insight you can offer on these tins will be helpful." Terion then addressed the group, "Let's finish our preparations and follow Elmo's lead. We'll head to the old mill first, dealing with any threats along the way. Stick together, stay alert, and we'll make it through." With a final look around, Terion shouldered his pack and stood ready to move, feeling a surge of determination as they set out for their next challenge.

Terion nodded at the ration tins. "The spirits must've left these behind. Maybe a parting gift?" As Boram voiced his thoughts on their next steps, he listened intently. "You're right, Boram. Keeping our word to Rufus is crucial." He glanced at Freya, considering the possibilities. "Let's hope the cult or the meadow lies along our path. We can tackle more than one problem if we're smart about it." He turned to Herala, appreciating her input. "I agree. If we can handle the giant and bandits on the way to the mill, we strengthen our position. As for the cult, we'll need more strength, and fetching Auntie Agnes could provide that." Terion addressed the group, "Let's prioritize the mill and see if we can deal with the giant 'en route'. Once the mill is secure, we can plan our next move. What say you?"

As dawn broke, Terion, already awake from his watch, noted the unusual dryness of the camp. Elmo stoked the fire while Freya skinned rabbits. The three empty ration tins, remnants of their spectral visitors, were left behind. "Morning, Boram," Terion said, squeezing his friend's shoulder. "We made it through the night. Let's see what the day brings." He joined Elmo and Freya at the fire. "Morning. I'll fetch some water for the coffee." After setting the pot over the fire, he gathered the group. "We should talk," Terion began, recounting the ghost's warnings about the cult and stirring dead. "We have a choice: pursue the treasure in Emiry Meadow or investigate the cult's activities. Both are risky. Let's decide together."
Male Human Per +3
Terion listened intently as the conversation unfolded around the wounded spirit. The revelations about the cult's activities and the unrest among the dead were troubling, to say the least. He glanced around at his companions, each reacting in their own way to the ghost's story and the tasks ahead. Seeing Boram whittling a stick by the fire, Terion understood the halfling's restlessness. He nodded in agreement with Boram's decision to keep watch alongside the ghost. It was a wise move, ensuring that the spirit felt acknowledged and easing any lingering tension in the air. "I'll take the next watch with you, Boram," Terion offered quietly, giving his friend a reassuring smile. "We'll keep each other company and make sure nothing disturbs the night. It seems we have much to ponder and prepare for when morning comes." Terion turned back to the ghost, still pondering the implications of the cult's actions and the potential dangers ahead. His mind raced with thoughts of strategy and caution, knowing that their next steps could lead them into treacherous territories. But for now, the night was theirs to navigate, and the fire provided a comforting warmth against the darkness that surrounded them.

Terion's eyes widened as the figure turned to reveal its gruesome state. Despite the shock, he managed to keep his composure, though the sight was enough to unsettle even the bravest. "Steady, Boram," Terion said softly, trying to offer some comfort to his companion. He turned his attention back to the apparition, his mind racing to understand the situation. "March, but not fought yet," Terion echoed, trying to make sense of the spirit's words. He glanced at the shield emblem, recognizing the silver stag, but any further historical knowledge eluded him. "Tell us more about your oath," Terion urged the wounded spirit. "What is it that you couldn't fulfill? Maybe we can help you find peace." Despite the horrors before him, Terion's focus remained on uncovering the story of these spirits and finding a way to aid them. He hoped that understanding their unfinished business might guide them to a solution and help the restless spirits find their way.

Terion observed the scene with a mixture of wariness and curiosity. Seeing his companions handle the situation with such calmness and cooperation was reassuring. He noticed Herala heating the food and offering it back to the apparitions with respect, while Boram nervously assisted her. Jairdan was attempting to sketch the moment, albeit with some difficulty. He took a step back, his hand still close to his weapon but not gripping it tightly. He kept a close eye on the figure standing apart, the one with the flowing hair, watching for any signs of aggression. "Let's hear their story," he said quietly to his companions. "If they have unfinished business, maybe we can help. But stay alert." He then addressed the apparitions more directly. "We honor your presence here," Terion said, his voice steady. "Please, tell us more about the battle you fought and the cult you faced. Is there something we can do to aid you now?" He hoped this would reinforce Herala's approach, show respect and invite the spirits to share their story, providing both his group and the apparitions with the answers they sought.

Terion's grip tightened on his weapon as he processed the soldier's words. The mention of Emiry Meadows, the battle, and the cult sent a shiver down his spine. He remembered hearing about the final battle between the cult and the forces of good. "Emiry Meadows," he repeated, nodding slowly. "I've heard of it. The site of the last stand against the cult." He glanced at the translucent features of the soldier. "Are you... spirits of the soldiers who fought there?" He kept his voice calm and steady, but his eyes darted to Elmo and then to the rest of the sleeping group. "What brings you here, to our camp? Is there something you need from us?" He hoped for a peaceful resolution but was ready for anything. As subtly as possible, he tried to rouse Herala, nudging her with his foot.

Terion glanced at Elmo, then back at the armored figures. Their breathy voices and sudden appearance set him on edge. "Rest and eat, sure," Terion replied cautiously, "but where did you come from?" He kept his hand close to his weapon, eyes scanning for any signs that these figures might not be what they seemed. "Elmo, keep your axe handy," he whispered, trying to be discreet. "We might be dealing with something more than just weary travelers."
Male Human Per +3
Terion sat with Elmo, the fire crackling between them. Noticing Elmo fighting sleep, Terion nudged him gently. "Stay awake, Elmo. We need sharp eyes tonight," he said with a small smile. As the strangers joined them, Terion’s hand instinctively moved to his weapon and he stood up, but he kept his tone calm. "Evening. What brings you out here?" he asked, trying to gauge whether they were friend or foe. He kept a watchful eye on their movements, ready to signal the others if needed.

Terion nods at Boram’s encouragement and steps forward to address the group. "Alright everyone, here’s the plan" - he says, his voice steady and pragmatic. "We’ve agreed to help bring back Aunt Agnes, the healer, but I suggest we handle the bandits first. It makes more sense to take care of the immediate threat before fetching Agnes. We’ll get the bandits, then on our way back, we’ll bring Agnes to Hommlet" He looks around at the group to make sure everyone is following. "This way, we deal with the danger first and then ensure the healer’s safety without rushing things. It’s a bit more efficient, and we’re not running back and forth. Any objections or thoughts on this?" Terion waits, ready to hear any feedback or alternative suggestions from the group.
Male Human Per +3
My idea was that we would go handle what it is we have to handle as far as bandits go, and on the way back to Hommlet, we would go grab Aunt Agnes. Not so much go simply to fetch Aunt Agnes first, because that does not seem like a priority. Willing to go with what the party decides however.

Elmo: "Yep, that's right Boram" - Terion says, nodding. He turns back to Herrod, keeping his tone straightforward - "Master Herrod, we will do our best to bring Aunt Agnes back here. Once that's done, we’ll see about taking Dawn with us"
Terion pauses for a moment to make sure Herrod understands their plan - "We'll make sure she's safe. For now, we'll focus on bringing back your healer" He then looks at Boram and Elmo, gesturing towards the tavern - "Let's head back and get the others" Terion gives Herrod a final nod - "We’ll be back soon. Thanks for trusting us"
Male Human Per +3
Elmo: "Master Herrod" - Terion begins thoughtfully, taking in the old man's words and the weight of the decision before them - "I understand your confidence in Dawn's abilities, and your desire for her to gain experience is admirable. However, my concerns about her safety remain" He pauses, turning to Boram with a nod before continuing - "But your proposal to retrieve Aunt Agnes and bring her back safely to your care is a reasonable one. Not only would it provide Dawn with a secure environment to develop her skills, but it would also serve the community by ensuring you receive the healing you need" Terion's gaze returns to Herrod, his tone earnest - "We can undertake this task. If we succeed and bring Aunt Agnes back safely, then we can discuss the next steps regarding Dawn" He glances at Boram and Elmo, seeking their agreement - "Do we have an agreement?" Bottom line, for now Terion still does not agree Dawn should go with them, but he agrees with bringing back Aunt Agnes (perhaps on a return trip, if we survive), and then take it from there.
Male Human Per +3
Spoiler: "Master Herrod" - Terion begins, stepping forward respectfully - "I must be honest. While Boram speaks true about needing Dawn's skills, I have serious reservations about taking her on this mission. At fourteen, she is still very young, and despite her abilities, the dangers we face are real and significant"
He pauses, glancing at Boram and Elmo before continuing - "It's not just about whether she can help us. I worry about the risks we are asking her to take. We cannot guarantee her safety in such a perilous undertaking, and as her father, your concern for her well-being must be paramount" Terion looks directly at Herrod, his expression earnest - "We all value her talents, but I cannot in good conscience support this if it means putting her in harm's way. I urge you to consider what is best for Dawn, and whether this is truly the right path for her at this time"

This time Terion will not diplomatize for you Boram. I'm sure we will find a way to make it a good scene anyway ;) Regarding posting, these prolonged RP interactions can be hard in PbP. If everyone posts one sentence a day, a conversation can take months. It all depends what people are looking for. I am ok-ish with it, it doesn't demotivate me because I consider it a part of the game. But the conversation needs to be moving forward. People sometimes tend to demotivate in these situations, posting less and less as the conversations and RP interactions proceed, but I have come to learn that if we simply keep with it, and post at least once a day, even a 'slow' conversation ends up being resolved in an 'acceptable' timeframe (in my opinion of course).

"I hear you, Herala, but this feels different" - Terion said - "We’re the ones seeking her out, not restricting her. Dawn's father might need her at home, and at 14, she’s still just a kid" He looked around at the group, frowning slightly - "I can't believe we’re even considering this. We're talking about risking a young girl's life here. Her magic might be useful, but is it worth the potential cost? Her father’s approval doesn’t change the fact that she’s too young" Terion sighed and shook his head. "I know you think she can handle it, but I stand by my vote. We shouldn’t take her. We're putting her in harm's way, and that’s something I can’t agree with" - then he took a long drink from his ale. Not adversarial, just keeping the game alive ;)

Terion found a seat at the table with the others. "So Elmo, any idea what the going rate for adventurers is around here?" Listening to the conversation about the potential young healer, Terion nodded at Herala's concerns - "Herala makes a good point. If she's too young or inexperienced, it might not be the best idea to bring her along. But if she's got the skills and can handle herself, we could really use the extra healing." He then turned his attention to Simeon with a smile - "I'll go with the barley and pork stew, and some of that marbled rye bread, please." As Freya entered and joined them, Terion grinned, giving a slight nod of approval at her well-maintained gear - "Freya, glad you could join us. Sounds like you've got quite the story. And don't worry about Elmo; I'm sure he'll survive the dunking." - he chuckled, trying to lighten the mood. "Let's focus on the task ahead. We've got a good team here, and with Freya and maybe this young healer, we'll be even better prepared." Still thinking about our healing situation. If the young healer checks out, we should give her a chance. But if not, we might need to rely on what we've got and be extra cautious. And yes Herala, I completely mind blanked about the fact you ARE a cleric. Apologies! :P

"You might be right Boram" - Terion nodded, as they walked into the tavern - "Five or ten gold sounds fair, and covering spell components for the wizard is a good call too. I mean, we need them to be at their best, right? I am just not very experienced at this whole thing of hiring others. Elmo, what do you think would be a fair reward for accompanying us?" He glanced around the bustling tavern, eyes scanning for the wizard they had spotted earlier - "And please, if you know a young healer who can help keep us patched up, that'd be great" - he added to Elmo also.

History/Int: 1d20 ⇒ 20 "Elmo, good to have you with us" - Terion says with a warm nod - "Those colors - Lord Winters' crest, isn't it?" - he looks at Elmo, a slight tilt of curiosity in his brow, wondering about the connection between the man and the noble house. "As for us, we're wrapping up our recruitment and about to grab some food. Why don't you come along?" - Terion gestures invitingly - "And on the topic of company, do you know anyone versed in the healing arts here in Hommlet? A healer's touch could make all the difference for us out there"

Herala Sunbirth wrote: " Terion, why didn't you tell me she had a crush on me for all these years?!" Herala whispers, a bit panicked as ideas swirl through her head. What else has she missed reading books?! "Well, I am as surprised as you are Herala - had no idea Freya harbored such feelings for you" - he smiled. As they went along, he listened to the group's conversation about the members they have been trying to recruit - "I agree a Wizard would be a great addition to your group, but don't think we have discussed any payment so far, have we?" - he commented - "Shall we discuss it now? For me, if they are supposed to pull their own weight, I think they should get equal shares" I am bit concerned with the fact we do not have much healing power among ourselves, do we?
Male Human Per +3
Terion pondered Freya's words for a few moments - "Look, I am no matchmaker, and certainly not one to advice others on their lives Freya" - he shrugged - "And without wanting to offend you or anything, I don't think you will find a life companion sitting around in your home" - he added - "Don't you think that being out there, adventuring perhaps together with us , facing dangers and shared hardships — isn't that how strong bonds are formed?" - he paused "I mean... You share experiences, rely on each other. That's often how you find someone special. It's simple, really - face enough challenges together, and you might just find what you are looking for, along the way. What do you think?"
Male Human Per +3
"Hi friend - I am Terion" - the man introduced myself - "Hailing from Hommlet - I think we've seen each other around the village" - he added. Have we? "In any case, me and my companions are planning a venture which will take some traveling around the region, and we are looking for a competent tracker to guide us" - he explained - "We have heard Freya is one of the best, so we came looking for her"
