![]() I started playing PFS at GenCon last year and had a really good time. I have since convinced a couple of my friends to create PFS characters. We want to attend an event this weekend, but the scenario being run is #4-7 Severing Ties that I played at GenCon last year with a level one character. I was going to make a new pathfinder to play with them because we all want to be level 3 by the time we hit GenCon this year and we want to play together. I read the replay rules and I'm not sure what qualifies as a Tier 1 Scenario. Is it any scenario where you can play at level one, or is there a specific list somewhere? Thanks for the help. ![]()
![]() Humans are not described as having hands under the physical description for humans, or under the humanoid description, or under the human sub-type description. So, then by RAW humans don't have hands? Which would lead to a pretty huge mechanical advantage in saying your human character had hands, as without them it would be extremely difficult to do anything. ![]()
![]() The craziest wish I have encountered was during a 1st edition Dragonlance campaign. One of the PCs attained 18th level as a wizard of High Sorcery and was promptly kicked off of that plane by the gods. The group ended up in the Forgotten Realms. He really liked Kenders and was disappointed that Kenders didn't exist in the Forgotten Realms so he wished that 25% of all intelligent life in the Forgotten Realms excluding himself would be transformed into Kenders. This was after wishing for a part of the moon Nutari so he could remain a wizard of high sorcery. ![]()
![]() It clearly states in the resurrection spell description that: (The remains of a creature hit by a disintegrate spell count as a small portion of its body.) This in my opinion defines the condition of a person disintegrated, they count as a small portion of their original body. Since the dust is only a small portion of the original body Breath of Life would not work because Breath of Life must target the whole creature. ![]()
![]() OP - I think PF allows me to tell great stories. I am currently running a campaign where all the PCs are kobolds. They are trying to take over the world. The only problems I've encountered are the size of my group, which can range from 6 to 17 people depending on who shows up. This makes adventure design extremely difficult for me personally. The other is the amount of game knowledge you need to make a decent character. It is extremely easy to gimp yourself if you pick the wrong feats. With 1st and 2nd edition D&D large groups were easier for me to handle, and you didn't make choices about your character that come back to haunt you as your knowledge of the system grows. I still play old school sometimes, and sometimes I play PF. Auxmaulous - have you ever tried claw and arms law? It's a bit clunky, but really brings combat to life. ![]()
![]() Thanks Jiggy. I have the core rule book, inner sea world guide, advance players guide, advanced race guide, ultimate combat, ultimate equipment, and ultimate magic. I planned on starting with a short bow and then upgrading to a composite longbow after the first adventure. If I'm not putting a lot into wisdom then I should probably forget about the conversion inquisition and go with the travel domain for the extra movement. Don't really want any stat under 10 so should I adjust my stats to STR 14
I assume I'd put my stat bonuses into dex as I level and a wisdom stat item so I could eventually cast 4th lvl spells? ![]()
![]() I'm pretty new to pathfinder, I played the beginners box at GenCon last year. This year I signed up for 5 PFS events and I need a character. I'm pretty interested in the inquisitor and the Andoran faction. I'm picturing a ranged support character more than a front line guy. Race Aasimar
STR 14
Traits: Reactionary - for +2 ini (pretty sure I want this)
Domains: Either Conversion or Travel, I'm leaning towards Travel Spells: 0: guidance, daze, detect magic, create water
I've read a bunch of threads on equipment, so I should be ok there. Any advice or suggestions welcome. ![]()
![]() I played in a 1st edition Dragonlance where everyone was Knight of Solomnia before the gods returned (no clerics). It was actually very successful. We all rotated spots absorbing damage and worked really well as a team. Now the only sucky part was the month that it took to heal after each adventure. Eventually the gods came back and we encountered a NPC cleric that was right around when were were level 5. 1st edition Knights of Solomnia were beasts on horseback, but we went into dungeons regularly. We were very goal oriented though and ruined many a dungeon when we took a lucky turn or two and found the BBEG quickly. We simply killed him and left leaving the rest of the dungeon unexplored. We also had an all wizard 2nd edition campaign. That was interesting. The most memorable moment was when we were fighting an evil cleric who was about to kill us all. One of the mages had some rope and made a lasso, he rolled a 20 to lasso the priest and then tied the rope to our donkey. The donkey took off and we made our escape. ![]()
![]() Hello, I will be playing in my first PFS events at GenCon this year and I have a question. I've skimmed the PFS download and it says that you need to own the books that you take traits, feats, equipment, etc. from. I want to make an Inquisitor with the Conversion Inquisition, but I don't own ultimate magic. However, the Conversion inquisition is under ultimate magic in the PRD. Can you use stuff from the PRD in PFS if you don't own those specific books? |
