Liberty's Edge

Wisdom bonus rounds (minimum 1)

Aid another is a standard to give +2 and can be fluffed e.g. Helpful. This allows you to keep your standard but trade actually moving or a full attack. Also benefits you next round - I could see move then attack then freebooter’s bond to get +4 instead of +2 and attack then full attack (assuming reasonable Wisdom bonus).

Hunter’s bond is a single enemy while Freebooter’s is flanking so technically many.

Liberty's Edge

@ GM TWO - this post is very inspiring. This is not a campaign I could run nor do I believe I could play in it well but it's a great example of how different two GM can be using similar rules and material in this crazy, mixed up world.

@ Krigare - have you considered Inquisitor? It sounds like arcane + divine is your goal and you wanted more skills per level. With Inquisitor, you'd get 6 + Int bonus skills per level, divine spells, Bane, Stern Gaze, bonus to Intimidate and Sense Motive which can be useful skills for a merchant, and can add Wisdom to: Initiative, Knowledge checks to identify foes, etc. That feels like more bang for your MAD buck.

Oracle would be a middle ground (4 + Int) and Wizard/Oracle gives you access to the highly profitable Cha-as-casting-stat option in a skill based campaign and 9th level divine spells. Additionally, some curses add useful skills or bonuses (Legalistic comes to mind).

Maybe I am missing something besides how hard it is to be a divine caster in Galt already but I hope that helps you in your considerations.

Liberty's Edge

Consider me interested. Wizard, ideally Aether if possible, and if you’d allow Int to hit with Spiritual Weapon (or Cha if Cha caster).

1. You defeated the enemy and they surrendered, what do you do?

Too many variables! Distance to authority, zealotry of the enemy, affiliations of the enemy, remaining resources and external time pressures means this is a case by case decision. Reform is an option for some, and the more tragic the origin, the greater the road to redemption can seem, but time makes fools of us all.

2. You are outnumbered or outgunned, damage along probably won't win the battle, unless you are rolling high and they are rolling low, what do you do?

Expeditious Retreat exists for a reason, but if the plate wearers can’t shield the retreat and teleport isn’t an option, it may be necessary to face destiny.

3. You can't go onto the next room until you solve the puzzle and one of you can figure it out, how do you proceed?

If the puzzle is of appropriate difficulty, it is good to give others a chance to solve, but I may smirk at the discussion.

If the puzzle is perplexing and punishing, it would be my great joy to prove the quill is mightier than the sword.

4. Player vs Player conflict, how do you proceed on playing the game? The conflict can happen before the game starts, ie. two people don't like each other, during the game, ie. they don't like your decisions or you don't like his, or even in-between books.

Try to see where I was in the wrong and they were in the right. If unable to see, ask if my error can be explained to me to see if I can learn. If I am too emotional to logically discuss the matter, ask for a chance to reflect and cool down before we get back to the disagreement.

5. An important NPC has been taking hostage and you are surrounded, like 10 guys ready to attack you all. One or more bad guys has a weapon pointed at the NPC if you retaliate, how do you proceed?

Try to give a long term scenario and demoralize the opponent using logic and reason. If unreasonable, defer to the divine affiliated members as to their reason, as long as they are not Groetus worshippers so killing the NPC accidentally makes their mad deity happy.

Note: Knowledge (Religion) if dealing with evil religious sorts to see if I can turn their tenets back on them.

6. You are told there is a certain object in the room, but none of you see it, what do you do? Assume the object is the size of a baseball, so it ain't like you are looking for a needle in the haystack.

Glitterdust is a great spell for this problem. However, prestidigitation also works to magically clean an area, methodically using a grid as if this were an archaeological expedition.

LF PBP.

Interested in any Adventure Path, especially Iron Gods, but open to anything, including homebrew.

I am an item guy - Ultimate Equipment is my favorite of the Ultimate books, though I also like the many archetypes / Oracle mysteries / flexibility of a good PF game.

Liberty's Edge

2 people marked this as a favorite.

I know I am reviving an old thread, but this is Carrion Crown, so it seems fitting.

Thanks to everyone for their advice and wisdom. A few details I added to my game (because of this thread and my own ingenuity):

1. The characters all have nightmares (3 currently per PC, a few generic untailored nightmares) and 1 good dream per PC, printed out on paper and wrapped in color coded ribbons (the good dream has an additional multi-colored ribbon).

2. I use the nightmares to introduce AA from book 6 in book 1.

3. I encoded the poem from book 3 and left it in Harrowstone

4. I added Troy Gildenstern and Abed Rosenkrantz - two NPC who are doomed to die. Troy is a clueless paladin of Ragathiel and Abed is a medium (when Abed said this, Troy said he was more of a 'large, extra large kind of guy' and inappropriately winked at Kendra).

5. I created Mad Libs or Groetus Sentences.

Liberty's Edge

I don't believe that Imbicatus is correct - you can't add .5 your level to a revelation before you have the revelation, but I believe all bonuses are available at level 1, and that's part of why things are 1/4 or 1/6th so they don't activate before you get the class ability.

Look at the Rogue talent or Slayer talent or Magus or Monk favored class option for examples of other "+1/Xth of ...' type of bonus.

If you have an Oracle and want to use the +1/2 to a revelation, it should be an always available revelation.

> No, when choosing which class feature’s effective level to increase, you can only select a feature that you already have. For example, an aasimar flame oracle cannot choose to improve the wings of fire revelation with her favored class bonus until she actually gains the revelation at 7th level or beyond; she could not start augmenting it at 1st level.

I don't see that this is increasing effective levels so I am not sure his advice applies.
