Male Kobold Rogue 2 / Sorcerer 1
Teh's looks between Rendylyn and the trap door nervously. The rogue's face remained surprisingly straight despite the obvious agitation. "Yes mistress." they agreed, "But we should keep in mind the alchemist may have their own means of finding and punishing us."

Tehs moves over to a spot in the floor and gives a few soft taps of a nimble foot. The audible difference gives the trapdoor away in that moment before the rogue bends low and struggles mightily to try and lift it. It takes a while, and a rather herculean effort for such a small trapdoor.

Tehs fidgeted as they walked along, seemingly nervous to have anyone behind them. Or perhaps from being in a lead position. "No mistress, noooo." they say demurely, "Was a slave mistress. My masters did not teach me such things. I was taught to serve." The small form dared to look back, then quickly went back to glancing about ahead. When they reached their destination it seemed to be a small warehouse. Which the little rogue led Rendylyn around. Upturning a paving stone and unseating another reveals a small gap under the building's foundation. Then Teh's wormed between the two, and a moment later pulled the stones back into place. Disappearing.

The sneak suddenly freezes, remembering a pair of important details. "Oh right, I almost forgot!"[/b[ they begin with a raised finger, [b]"Edderly! He's having an afair with Mott's wife. Could that help you put the two at odds with each other?" There is a slight pause. "Oh, and the alchemist has a flesh golem." they add, "Different strokes for different folks?"

Tehs rises and gingerly moves over to instruct Posh in the drawing of the map. As they go the little sneak shares details with the group. "The gate's portcullis will be very important. The counterweight needed to move it is massive. If the defenders disable it opening the gate will prove nigh impossible." the rogue explains, "While they have buckets of arrows and boiling oil, the threat to the army as a whole is not being able to quickly get inside." "The raven keeper is suspected to be mad, and I have seen not just birds at his tower, but swarms of them. It will not be a simple thing to assassinate him with so many enemies around." "This head priest... he is very powerful. I do not know that I have ever seen a cleric who could cast such powerful magic. Those under him are also capable. If they were around to bolster a defense it could be very bad. Worse even than a captain or paladin leading soldiers." "The wizard's wand is likely a focus, but he also has a powerful construct." "The lead dwarf is a lush." Tehs finally adds with a glare down at the map, "This may sound absurd to suggest when dealing with one of the bearded folk, but poisoning him might be an effective strategy."

Rolls for DM:
Disable Device: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
Note: I have not added the passive stealth boon to my CS or trapfinding to these rolls. Will cast spells to aid stealth if it ends up being usable. Will get an in character post up in the morning. Very wiped ATM.

"Of course." Tehs says in a low voice, clearly pleased. After a moment's hesitation Tehs looks around at those gathered. "Are any of you adept in drawing maps?" Tehs hesitantly asked, "I know the keep inside and out, but... I do not typically put such information to paper."

While the charm spell didn't compel Tehs' action from this point the loyal minion had no qualms about doing so anyway. The small gnomish woman went down to her knee and bent low in a sweeping bow, head held low. Given how close to the ground she was to begin with, she was very close to the floor. "I have been here for months preparing to aid you mistress." came a surprisingly raspy voice, "You should make use of me. I have learned much of the garrison. I know what lies inside." The voice was eager, as if anticipating to be put to work.

Once more the thin halfling man follows the crowd past the stone tower, moving slowly enough to trail behind by a larger and larger margin. Then, making his way to the inn he disappears down an alley. First fading to a silhouette in the dim, and then vanishing altogether. DM:
Casting THAT spell to help hide in the alley. Almost ten minutes later an eldery gnomish woman slowly trudges out of the same alley. Her skin and hair were bleached nearly colorless, with faded streaks of orange near the roots. Her features were sunken, gaze down at her feat mostly as she plodded along. She wore a blue linen robe that was wrinkled around the upper body, and she hunched badly. Her pace was deliberate, slow enough to perhaps draw a concerned gaze, but quick enough there would be no question of her collapsing. She made her way into the inn and slowly settled herself at an open place nearest the hearth. Breathing heavily, she cleared her throat again and again. She adjusted her seat a few times, scooching it closer to the table so she could get her chest up to the edge and rest her hands on it for support. Then her eyes slowly took in the room. Weary but attentive. Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
I feel like I should get a circumstance bonus for this IRL.
I have a three day work weekend out of town, so won't be able to do much more work until at least Sunday evening. Just need to handle equipment, description, and background. Basic concept I have is that he was forced out of his tribe for being useless and ended up finding an old hermit's shack with a recently deceased hermit. Used his leftover gear (and horse) to learn to survive. Then, as bandits became more common he heeded the call. Bit of a stir crazy recluse, but eager to be helpful for once. Sneaky survivalist with surprising AC and toughness for such a slight, skittering rogue. |
