FYI, Rayse, we bought you a magic greatsword, using the Trident +1 from the triton as a trade-in. Rendylyn's Spellcraft is pretty poor, so she probably can't identify its properties:
Spellcraft check for using Detect Magic to see how the greatsword is enchanted: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Nope. Maybe another party member could, with a higher Spellcraft or the Identify spell. But given that we paid about 2000g for it, it's probably +1.

spellcraft: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22 Correct. +1

Please check slide 7. Can anyone not move their icon?
If you cannot, I think there is a button to request access.

Awesome, I'll update my sheet later.
| GM Wicked Treesa |
Yep. Let me know if you can not move your icon. Or I think there is a button for you to ask for access.... ??

I'm planning on just checking in on the golem because I'm hoping we can get the party together quickly; Posh has been on the sidelines since the holidays.

Correct about DR/Alignment. But a slam is a natural weapon. Doesn't matter since the golem isn't good.
Actually there seems to be a lot of opinions/confusion around the forums. They compare a slam from a gorilla and a punch from a monk. The attack from the monk isn't considered a slam because it uses rules for unarmed attack. It isn't a 'natural' weapon, presumably because it is trained. The slam from the gorilla is a natural weapon because it isn't a trained attack. ??
As for DR against an alignment, a natural attack (slam) only applies if the creature is "a good creature" like an angel, not just having a good alignment. Personally, I don't like that distinction.... I guess that means if they are listed as Good/Lawful/Chaotic/Evil in the type, it applies.
Would a Slam count as a weapon for the purpose of weapon feats? Hmm.... Not sure. Doesn't matter right now though.

The most common way for players to align natural or unarmed attacks is through a Amulet of Mighty Fists, e.g. a Holy Amulet of Mighty Fists.
Some outsiders have language in their templates such as, "A devil’s natural weapons, as well as any weapons it wields, are treated as lawful and evil for the purpose of resolving damage reduction." Notably, the angel template does not have such language--angels get their protective aura instead. Demons get the aligned attacks, agathions get lay on hands. It makes a certain amount of sense that the more destructive outsiders get offense and the more peaceful ones get protection or healing.
Even Solars don't have aligned attacks. They have Align Weapon on their spell list instead.

I'd rather the party have a little trouble with the inn than have folks sitting on the game's sidelines any longer, especially faced with the possibility of a lengthy dungeon crawl.

Help me out to catch up! Where are, and what's needed of me?

Not too much has happened since we took our holiday break. We got to know our new party member a little, and investigated the hidden abode of a flesh golem we're told was the creation of the town's alchemist. It was hostile to us, though.
We've made tentative plans for sabotage and assassination, but we're still in the information-gathering phase of our campaign against the fortress Balentyne. We're currently investigating a secret door in the inn's cellar that may be a back door in.
What do we need from you? Posh! You're an excellent roleplayer and we love having you participate.

Speaking of getting to know our new party member...Tehs, we know you're in our GM's family, but nothing more. Want to introduce yourself as a player?
I'm an editor in his 50s, living in Chicago's south side.

Did we do introductions before? I forget. Maybe cause I'm old.... As in mid-60s, so only a little bit old! I do IT support for USPS (work from home) and not sure if I will ever retire. I tried retirement in 1998 and got bored after two days. I gotta be busy!
Also an Iowa native. Currently in NC but planning to move to Boston if the city will ever OK some construction.... Tehs is family, younger generation but the only one smart enough to have learned this game!

55 here, in Virginia. Been playing D&D (and other RPGs) in various forms since '78.
Probably retire in 2030, maybe 2032.
