Hi there, Good evening: I am directing Way of the wicked, and i am about to start the second book, the Horn of Abbadon. My questión here is. Once they have secured the Horn of abbadon, but before they start the ritual, while they prepare the dungeon, my players may like to summon something, but not necesarily a devil. Hell hounds, hell cats, and this short of things could come. My idea is to let them do, the only thing is how could they summon this kind of things. Would they be conjured with an spell like Lesser Planar Binding or things like that? Summons monster is not very apropiate if you want to have a monster wandering in the dungeon protecting something or somewhere. Somehthing else, for the people that has directed this adventure, i thought about side questing a little bit in Caer Bryr, to let tham have chances of getting some mounstrous npcs as minions or cohorts, just in case they want to have them. Do you think it is apropiate? I think there should not be any problem do you? Thank you a lot for the answers.
I am the GM, my players want to play the L/E paladin. I know more or less how to behave, but my problem is how to rework the class. I thought swaping smite good, for smite evil. and Aura of Courage, to Aura of fear, he could not pick good descriptor spells nor chaotic. so there must be a change in the spell list, lay of hands instead of heal could inflict damage. But appart from this i dont know what to change. And for example i don´t know how tio use the aura of fear for example. If anyone could help me. Or redirect me, to a created L/E paladin class. Even if it is no official jut to check. I think i am using antipaladin, except for a pair of things
Hi there: Probably this topic has been talked, but I was unable to find that topic, so I say it, hoping it is not said yet. I have never understood why paladins have to be lawful good, I see them as champions of the god. All that said, I think that being lawful is a prerequisite, and if your paladin was going to be chaotic good, for example, I would suggest a rework from the antipaladin. The thing is that I am playing a game with evil characters, plotting as Asmodeus followers, at least some of them, and they wanna play a champion of the god. I thought about it, and in my brain at least. I could perfectly see Asmodeus having L/E Paladins, the thing is that i have not found the way to rework the paladin to play it properly. I could rework it my way, but I would prefer something that has been tried and "tested". Thak you for your answers in advance. I hope you could understand me, I trie to write properly in English.

If you really think, that 20 level players, can use rope trick to rest in a dungeon as if there were no problem I think that you have not play high level characters, or your DM was a mum, no a proper DM. And I didnt say that you have spells for the important combats I said that can use spells in nearly 10 fights, obiously depending on the difficulty, sometimes a fight can make you use all of your spells and then you have look around, as you have no more high level spells, and maybe 10 fights or the fights you used most is not the big one. If I direct a game I promise you that unless it is because of story need, you can´t rest in a dungeon, nor go out, as the bad people or whatelse you are going to hunt, if intelligent, not only will ambush properly, but also scape if there is an option, and just you probably will fail saving the world, that is what 20 level characters do. But I agree with you in something roleplaying it a high level wizard is the funiest , and if you have time and you need to investigate something probably the wizard and if not the rogue/bard will get to the point. Appart from that any need the group may need pobably the wizard is able to give with an standard action, but in combat it is not the same, no at least in big dungeons. In little dungeons or in a single fight the wizard is god. Also a 20 level wizard cant summon things that own you, you are a 20 level character with a 20 level gear, no mosnter of the summon monster IX can do anything against a 20 level fighter, monk, cleric, cavalier, or any fighter class that has the proper magic equipment. I really think that fighter are no punished at all, and if you dont agree with me, it is easy you take two 5 level characters, and you compare the damage they do, then 10 level, 15 and 20, and you will realize that in a burst of damage wizard wins, but that if you get in long dungeons without stopping, as it should be, you will realize that the fighter makes much more damage overall. That said is true that without the wizard some fights would be imposible, but wizard cam´t play every fight, he just can play ome fights while the other play every single fight.
I have seen high level wizards in action, they are very powerful yes, but never ever powerful enough to cast spells for the 50 fights or more you may have in a dungeon of high level characters, in which those punished warriors, can perfectly fight all the time they want if they have enough staffs of cure .... wounds. And the wizard help his mates in 9 battles? maybe 10? no a lot more, as if he has lots and lots of scrolls writen and use lots of them, the treasure you will earn won´t give you to rewrite all those spells and buy the apropiate gear. I am not saying wizard is not useful very useful, but that fighters are no punished at all, they are perfectly playable from level 1 to level 20. While a wizard from 1 to 5, is useful sometimes, and a wizard may do anything very few times a day at very high levels.

I completly disagree with you chechking numbers I think that martial classes rule the game and that the wizard is the most punished one. Wizard class is amazing but is very very restricted due to it day spells and the chosing he must do. Martial clases do, much more damage than wizards overall, are able to use all of their class features endlesly, and are able to achieve many things that wizards can achieve without the cost of the wizard, a spell slot, except thinks like fly or some other amazing, but not very useful things. Wizard class has it spells very specified and because of that you can´t do whatever you want with each spell, warrior classes instead are far less restricted than wizards in what their skills and special qualities do. Appart from all this wizard is the character easier to kill above all characters, and if you tell me that it has many protective spells, yes he does have a lot of protective spells, but if he take protective ones he just looks how his party fights. So I completly disagree with you about warriors so punished or else.
Good morning: I am directing a game with a swashbuckler and i have many doubts. Does the swashbuckler´s precise damage works as the rogue´s or other precise damages? Does it need flanking? or being denied dexterity? It is not said in the class, but I don´t really know if there is a need or not. Moreover the swashbuckler has many other deeds that allow him to do different things, but a lot of them also state that if the target is immune to precise damage is also immune to these deeds. All this deeds could be done without flanking? And can this deeds be made if the enemy has concealment? As I know concealment makes the rogue unable to sneak attack, am i right?. Many thanks and I hope you can understand my English.
Can a caster polymorphed by this spell use spells If he saves the will save? I think you could not, as your items and everything would be polymorphed with you? I suppose that if the spellcaster has a dispel magic, break enchantment or similar spells prepared, conjurin in silence and withou moving it could be, if not i suspect that the affected caater cpuld not use spells, am I correct?
Goodmorning everyone: I was directing a game and when i saw a monster with DR and realized that rogue without sneak attack wasn't able to bypas the DR,so I thougt should Ilet him sneak attack? In raw i haven't found anything taking about a need for the rogue to bypass the DR to sneak attack, but in my mind it is something obvious. So the question is, is anywhere the things explained? Does that rule exist? Does any GM use any similar rule/house rule in his games? Does it seem very restrictive for the rogue in combat? And another thing, can the rogue sneak attack everythig in the world except constructs, elementals and some few monster more? Or is there any criteria to say ypu can sneak attack thia or that or something? I mean a devil for another plane with a very strange form, or i don't know, something very uncommon, or not known by the rogue? Thank you a lot in advance. Tassel

Como pueden los españoles comprar este libro por internet? En Devir Iberia no es un libro disponible. Si alguien pudiera decirme como comprar este libro en internet se lo agradeceria enormemente.
Good afternoon: I am mastering a game in wich I have a cleric and a wizard and both want to take a prestige class and/or multiclass. The wizard want to mix wizard and rogue levels, to go into the prestigue class of rogue wizard I dont remember the english name, the one in wich you can use steal maneuver at 30 feet. The cleric want to change to the prestige class available to clerics and paladin, the sacred vindicator i think it's the name. My question is if you follow gaining in any of both pretige classes levels of any existing spellcasting class in wich you have levels, would you follow winning the benefits of the domains of the cleric or the benefits of being specialized in an arcane schoool of spells or you would stop winning those bonus?? Thank you for your answers, sorry for my english that is not good to explain myself.
Thank you for all the answers. When i said Sacred, i meant holy, so I will use as most of you have said using the Holy property as that and not as an enhanced bonus. In the hat of diguise I am doubting yet, Using a standard action jus to reactivate every ten minutes is very easy in some situations, and very hard in some others. But if i go to the rules exactly in the item it is said that it duplicates the spell, and in the spell it is said the duration is 10mins/ level. So i think that to use it in any other way I would need a proof. But if i look at it from another point of view, roleplaying with this kind of items becomes quiet diffict in many situations. So I don't really know how will I use it.
Obiously if he is in front of people it would be an important diference, or if he is seen by the same people he was seen some minutes before, but in the case he mets with someone else, could he just stay disguised without the bonus or not? Again thank you all.
First of all, i have a rogue in the game I am directing and he told me that he was using his hat of disguise to disguise himself. The problem was that he thought disguise of the hat would be for the time he wants, i thought it just would be for the duratión of the spell. He was trying to do it with the disguise hat. So my question is, would the hat allow you to be disguised for all the time you want? and the disguise spell, i am talking about tthe case you use it with the disguise skill to obtain a bonus. Do you lose the bonus after the speel expired? Another question a cleric in my game told me he was going to craft a magic weapon, i let my players upgrade their weapons and armors, so they pay just the diference between the new price and the last price, he told me he would like to become his +1 batleaxe into a +1 Sacred Battleaxe. My players level is 7. In rules it is said that the higher level required is the level you must be, to be able to craft it. He is able to craft a Sacred weapon, but a +3 enhanced weapon requires a level 9, so is he able to craft it or not? He told me that he understood that level 9 is required to make a +3 Battleaxe and not to make a +1 Sacred Battleaxe. Thank you very much, I expect you are able to understand me, my English is not as good as I would like.
Thank you very much everyone, mostly gauss i didnt thought that way. Ok then i know how it would work on an invisible or on a ilusion spell casted in a place, but if the players, have for example a pcreature using alter self, polymorph or what else, in their front, it would be the same?? They would now that the man/woman, has magic and after 3 rounds of concentration they would know wich auras are on effect and were are the auras?? If a non-player creature/humanoid, whatelse is using this kind kf spells, would he/it completly had an aura of the appropiate school, transmutation, i think? Or would not? And what would the pjs see? Just its new form ( the one the creature is getting using the spell) with the aura, or creature's real formwith the aura? One thing more, if they are chasing a creature that uses invisibility and then moves, and they saw the creature making itself invisible, would players be able to follow it, or would they need to concentrate to know where the aura is? Time more than enough for the creature to scape?? Or could they follow the magic for enpugh turns to be able to locatr the aura and therefore follow it? Or would it be imposoble to follow it?
Goodmorning all, Some days ago I started a campaign, in wich, my players were dark elf nobles. And while we were playing, some creatures make themselves invisible. Here came the problem, noble Drows have constant detect agic. How does detect magic work? Do you see even the form of the invisible creature, and does it work for other ilusion spells?, does it also work on alter self, or polimorf, or what else kind of spell, that tries to bluff or confuse or make urself invisible? Being a 0-level spell, I personally thought that it couldn´t neutralize other higher level spells, moreover being these spells purposes to pass without being seen, but I wasn´t sure at all how to manage it, so I am asking here for an answer of how i should manage it, or what does really detect magic detect. Thank you very much, have a nice day. Sorry for my English, It is not very good, but I try to make myself understood.
To begin with i would like to ask, if a monk can wear some gauntlets, to make them magical and to enhance the gauntlets with fire damage, or any other magic property? The feat elemental fist, is it available for monks without the need of the prerequisites? i think it is not. But if this feat is like i think, how does the feat efrety style work on moks? As this feat ask fora monk to be 5th lvl to be able to take, but a monk can´t have elemental fist until it has level 11, hust for the base attack bonus it requires. And does armor training of the level 3 fighter reduce the armor from medium to light armor?, or does it only take out the penalty of movement, and allos the user to had a +1 dex and reduces the armor penalties on 1?? Sorry my bad English I hope you can understand me.
If a monster, such as, a vampire, attacks a PC, and hits with his natural attack, does it automaticaly add to the character the negative levels stated on the monster? or the Pc has a save at the moment he is hitted?. I have read the rules on the bestiary and as i could undertsand, there is no saving throw for the negative levels, until 24 hours have passed. And the save is just to know if the negative levels become permanent or the just dissapear. Am i right? Or a save against negative levels should be done by a PC at the moment the Pc is hitted and then another one, once 24 hours have passed? Thank you very much, I hope you can understand my English.
I just want to question if it is said that a monster, like lycantropes have DR/silver and vampires have DR/Silver and magic. Which DR is better, does it mean that you can bypass both with a silver/mithral weapon, or to bypass vampires DR u need a magical silver/mithral weapon?? My players said that only a silver weapon is needed. But i have been checking and the more CR, more common is to have DR/x and y. It could be the same with DR/adamantine and DR/andamantine and magic Thank you very much. I expect i have explained myself.
Many thanks and just amazing. I am pretty new player in D&D and Pathfinder, i have played many pjs, but my group of friends thinks that there is only a way to do the things, following your tips i will try to prove them they aren´t right. And if i achieve i Will post here again just to tell you. Really many thanks and it is a great job, people can agree with your tps or not, but i think noone can say, that you haven´t wotk on it.
