"They may be able to shut Urza inside, but can they keep Urza inside? Urza thinks not. Let's go in." He looks to Tar'kanas. "All of us."

lol! That 3rd person talk is pretty dang funny.

Tar'kanas nods. "Very well," he responds plainly and readies to move in with the others.

M Elf Ranger 6

Tar'kanas simply looks at the Tengu with a raised eyebrow, eventually relaxing and continuing on once the rogue stops carrying on.

Pondering their dilemma a moment, "Untari and I can remain here and guard the entrance while the rest of you venture within."

Pezock aka Navior wrote:
"For what reason would you build a boat not to watch it burn?" Pezock responds as he, too, begins climbing the ziggurat stairs.

Tar'kanas ponders the question a moment before looking to the bird man stoically. "To use it to cross water," he responds matter of factly.

M Elf Ranger 6

With his bow in hand and Untari following close behind, Tar'kanas follows behind the others looking as if he's contemplating something. "I do not understand. For what reason would you build a boat just to watch it burn?"

M Elf Ranger 6

Catching sight of the watcher, Tar'kanas keeps a firm grip upon his bow while a low growl escapes Untari. Bending at the knees to be at a more even level with his animal friend, "Hold, Untari. Makoa speaks right: no reason for battle if they choose to leave us be." Keeping an eye in the direction of the watcher for a moment longer, he rises and returns to the task at hand. "Let us continue on to the next building. But remain alert if they decide we are no longer welcome."

M Elf Ranger 6

Tar'kanas nods. "Probably wise. Come, Untari." He then heads out with the others, his trusted feline right behind him.

M Elf Ranger 6

Um, when did Douena become the new Godzilla? Just curious. I will say she's not nearly as terrifying. Well... maybe a little bit. ;)

Tar'kanas scans the surrounding area through narrowed eyes. "Fascinating. I'm curious to know what it is that has left this place in ruins."

M Elf Ranger 6

Seeing Pezock in desperate trouble, Tar'kanas fires relentlessly in an attempt to bring down the over-sized crocodile.

M Elf Ranger 6

"Down it is. Come, Untari." Tar'kanas heads in that direction, Untari close behind.

M Elf Ranger 6

Tar'kanas moves to study upon both directions of the trail, attempting to ascertain which path could possibly be used more often.

Douena Trestleben wrote:
"I wish there'd be an earthquake now," Douena grumbles, climbing over broken ground two-thirds her height. "I've never been in an earthquake."

Tar'kanas looks to Douena with a raised eyebrow. "You wish to be in an earthquake? I will confess, I have never met one who desired such. Truly you are...," he pauses, looking for the right word before, "unique," he concludes satisfactorily.

M Elf Ranger 6

Moving along sounds good to me.

This is so Raiders of the Lost Ark.

"Well let us use these columns and find out where it will lead us next."

M Elf Ranger 6

Tar'kanas looks curiously at Douena before looking up. He then moves away from his current spot, calling Untari to do the same.

M Elf Ranger 6

"I will remain behind with Untari."

M Elf Ranger 6

Looking up into the tree a moment before turning his attention to the others, "Should one of us go with her?"

M Elf Ranger 6

Looking to Urza as well, "Yes, do. If she is able to recognize it, she may know of where the last might be."

M Elf Ranger 6
Lorenz aka Navior wrote:

Lorenz groans.

As do the inhabitants of the Mwangi for miles around...

LOL!

Tar'kanas raises an eyebrow at Mahjik's words before his attention is drawn toward Douena as she speaks to Sildu.

Polyglot:

"Sildu, three of the idols work, the last does not due to it missing its orb. Would you happen to know where the last orb might be?"

M Elf Ranger 6

Knowledge: Geography: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
Knowledge: Nature: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21

Tar'kanas looks about the map, concentrating on it a moment. "It is a map of the Mwangi. Although it appears to be inaccurate or possibly from a time long ago. Some areas within it are familiar and some I do not recognize at all."

M Elf Ranger 6

As Douena takes care of the majority of his wounds, "Thank you, Douena." He nods. "Untari!" he calls. As the cat makes his way next to him, he checks her for injuries and finds she is okay. He then rubs her on the head and behind her ears. Once he finishes, he turns to Urza, "I do not."

Hp's 44/50

M Elf Ranger 6

Tar'kanas manages to keep his senses about him and just keeps firing.

M Elf Ranger 6

Tar'kanas pulls out his bow and calls upon a bit of magic to aid him.

Draw bow; Cast Gravity bow

M Elf Ranger 6

Knowledge: Nature: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10 I don't suppose an Aiding Another - Makoa that would be - is possible with Knowledge checks, is it?

M Elf Ranger 6

I have a rope. But no hook.

M Elf Ranger 6

Tar'kanas studies Untari a moment and then points to the stairs. "Untari. Jump."

Untari looks to Tar'kanas and then to the stairs. Backing up as far as she can, she sets herself into a crouch a moment before suddenly exploding out of her stance in an attempt to make the stairs. Repeating the process until she can finally make it.

Will take 20.

M Elf Ranger 6

Looking at Untari and then looking at the height of the stairs, "Probably best if we found another way. It is possible she could make it but I am not sure. She has not had to make such a jump before."

To be honest, she can make that jump. But she needs to roll a 17. Because a 9' high jump is a 36 DC.

M Elf Ranger 6

Tar'kanas raises an eyebrow at Douena's obviousness. "It appears as if our leader wishes to take the stairs. I would gather that is what we shall do," he says plainly. He then calls Untari to follow and heads toward the stairs.

M Elf Ranger 6

Tar'kanas takes aim and fires, remaining outside the range of the spores.

M Elf Ranger 6

Tar'kanas will move into the room, finding himself a clearer shot.

Gonna move instead of attack.

Move diagonally 2 squares. Which puts me 2 squares directly above Pezock.

M Elf Ranger 6

Knowledge: Nature: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25

Tar'kanas waits to see how the creature might respond, although, knowing what he knows about it, he can gather how it will respond."It is called a basdirond. It moves freely, possesses no intelligence, and survives off blood; or any other type of moisture containing rich minerals. It can also release spores into the air causing hallucinations. I believe our time of talking need come to an end." He looks over at Douena, "It possesses no desire to be our friend, Douena. I am sorry." Tar'kanas looks back to the creature, taking no action as he allows the gnome to play out her conversation. Never the less, he readies to fire as soon as the situation turns.

Delay. Or talk. Whatever kind of action that is.

M Elf Ranger 6

Yep, still delaying. Untari also. If something crazy happens where there's just all of the sudden tons of room to do something, then I'll do something. Otherwise, will just keep delaying.

M Elf Ranger 6

Delay.

M Elf Ranger 6

Seeing how he has no shot and no place to move, Tar'kanas waits for an opening.

Delay also. This is insane. Hope no one's claustrophobic. :P

M Elf Ranger 6

Sorry. Meant to respond to this a while back and completely forgot.

Way Earlier

Mahjik the Flink wrote:
Mahjik ponders the elf's words as he approaches. "What other molds are there? Is weakness to fire a common trait for them?"

"There are various kinds of molds. And as far as fire being a common weakness... I do not recall."

Tar'kanas nods and follows the gnome toward the north door.

M Elf Ranger 6

Knowledge: Nature: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28

"Hold. The fungus that lies before the door is yellow mold. If it is disturbed it will burst, creating a cloud of poisonous spores. I would recommend burning it seeing how it possesses a great weakness to fire."

M Elf Ranger 6

Tar'kanas moves over to 'Douena's door' and readies to enter with his bow in his hand and Untari by his side. "Let us enter."

M Elf Ranger 6

Tar'kanas finds himself lost in thought as the others go about investigating. He's broken from his reverie as Jask speaks, looking around to make sure no one noticed he wasn't paying attention. "While caution is wise, I believe it is time to move and see what awaits us. We will never know if we remain here longer than we already have."

M Elf Ranger 6

Nope. Not that I recall anyway.

M Elf Ranger 6

Tar'kanas looks to the tengu and a slight grin forms. "The tengu is nothing if not blunt. I confess I do appreciate his confidence."

M Elf Ranger 6

Thanks for clean up on that, Navior! A lack of updating on my sheet for that one. I hardly ever go melee. And I also never even saw flanking. Good catch on all counts.

Tar'kanas sheathes his blade and moves to retrieve his bow. Once regained, "Let us be quick about finding what we can upon these creatures so we can continue on. The longer we remain out here, the more time we give for these creatures to gather their nerve and return with more of their kind. They do not strike me as ones who give up that easily."

M Elf Ranger 6

Tar'kanas drops his bow and pulls out his curved blade as he moves next to the charau-ka before bringing the blade down toward the creature.
