Male Strix Magus (Bladebound) 9
![]() Talon roars; his fury at the guerrilla warfare, the cowardly attacks, the cleric who won't die. He passes a hand over Rygat lighting fast, letting the weapon completely open itself to the flow of magic as it bursts with electricity, then he brings down the weapon on their pesky healer. Casting shocking grasp, using 1/day empower on it and full attacking. Dice and Math:
Attacks: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (15) + 13 = 281d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16 Damages: 1d6 + 7 + 1d6 + 9d6 ⇒ (3) + 7 + (4) + (3, 1, 1, 1, 6, 6, 3, 6, 1) = 421d6 + 7 + 1d6 ⇒ (6) + 7 + (1) = 14 28 Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (19) + 13 = 32 Crit Damage: 1d6 + 7 + 9d6 + 1d10 ⇒ (5) + 7 + (6, 3, 4, 2, 6, 2, 1, 5, 1) + (5) = 47 30 28 to hit on first, 32 to confirm. 14+12+5+58(1.5)=118 damage. 14 on second if it hits. Wow, dead. That's just mean. ![]()

![]() Understood, thanks. Talon arrives in the room, the words of the latest ritual just barely off his lips. His already shortened temper from the guerrilla warfare and nearly being interrupted is not helped by the blatant attack on his work (well, somewhat his). He goes strait for who he assumes is the divine caster (female robed person), flying forward and passing a hand over Rygat to engulf the weapon in flames. The sword comes down towards her neck as Talon roars his anger. Charge Attack: 1d20 + 13 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 13 + 2 = 33
Spending 1 arcana point to enhance my weapon by +3, then spending all of it to make Rygat keen and flaming burst. Then charging the (I assume) spellcaster. ![]()

![]() I understand that the dice just weren't in my favor, s~!# happens. Talon is massively frustrated. Between that and the ripoff guy he wants to seriously blow off some steam. That and Cala being taunted by the creature too powerful for him to handle aren't helping. Cala's call on the Golem. She knows the most about it. I'm all for the throne plan. We could do some simple traps as well as some more alarm spells (we should get a wand of that). ![]()

![]() Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (18) + 12 = 30 "S$%&. I think we're under attack. Contact the others, I'll go try and see what's going on." Talon leaps headfirst out the nearest window, diving down before snapping his wings open and coasting over the slaughter. He tries to find the source of the arrows. ![]()

![]() Talon shakes his head, hard frown set after the departing Ezra. Auran:
"It was my own fault, I was careless with my words. I forget that under all her rage there is loss. I understand that better than most." Talon absentmindedly picks at one of his feathers. "I don't like the idea of Sindran, or any of us, doing that every day. You don't get cut up as often as the more martially inclined ones of us do, but every wound takes a bit away from you. A wound that serious is numbing." ![]()

![]() I didn't realize that hit so close to home for her. Still, gotta RP that 6 charisma beyond "I don't say anything". Talon nearly draws Rygat when he realizes the jab was a lot more insulting than he intended. Fighting her was not something he looked forward to, especially since she didn't fight in the style of mortals. Most of his training would be useless. Knowledge (Arcana): 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (1) + 16 = 17 Talon is too preoccupied by the sudden onslaught to concentrate. ![]()
Male Strix Magus (Bladebound) 9
![]() Talon nods understandably. "Of course." He walks over, standing next to her with a hand on her shoulder protectively. It's interesting to see the strength/int character who dumped charisma feeling a connection to the charisma/int character. Like, he's ugly and socially inept, but they have the same interests and trust each other. It's a classic possibly-tragic love story that's interesting to see in the midst of all this evil scheming. ![]()

![]() Oh he's dead. I assume you rolled Talon's will save off screen? Talon checks the arrow again to make sure it's real, then furiously heads back to the town. Once on the fringes he uses his circlet to disguise himself as a fairly normal looking nice human; the idea is to look like a good target. Then he goes wandering into the same area with a worried expression on his face. ![]()

![]() Thanks! I think it would be interesting if Talon every got to see his tribe again. There would be...interesting conversations. However that's probably quite a few miles from the tracks of the main campaign. Talon nods, grabbing the book and arrow and tucking them away on his person. He moves his way out of town, and once he circles back to make sure he wasn't followed drops his guise and takes off to the Horn. So what did you think Rygat? Did you approve of my actions? Talon has decided that instead of living in fear and confusion of the blade's abilities, he would become more familiar with it. Once back at the horn Talon let's the others know what he has acquired, then sits down and begins reading. ![]()

![]() Oh dear 24 int haha. Talon thinks for a moment, wanting to give him something real but not sure what he wouldn't know that wouldn't compromise the knot. Finally he settles, somewhat reluctantly but with an air of acceptance. Talon tells the scholar of the strix tribes. He tells him how they were scorned by the gods and sent to this land as punishment, how humans hunted them for sport, how their culture and family works, and some of their brief history. He includes much detail on the subject, but carefully avoids telling of their location at all. When he finishes he stands in silence for a moment, then picks up the items. "I trust that will suffice?" ![]()

![]() I changed Talon's sheet to a neater, more updated version but in the process accidentally deleted my loot. I asked for help in discussion but nobody seemed to remember anything. "And what would such an arrow do?" "I had more of...information trading in mind. That is your pursuit, is it not?" ![]()
Male Strix Magus (Bladebound) 9
![]() Talon scratches at his neck absentmindedly, perusing the rest of the available knowledge. He doesn't appear to be about to take action or get violent at all. Rather just having a philosophical discussion about hypotheticals. "You didn't answer my first question." He gently leafs through another tome. "What is your name?" ![]()
Male Strix Magus (Bladebound) 9
![]() Talon looks at the book for a moment, letting it hang loosely in his hand. "And who put the idea in your head that I wanted to kill a dragon?" He gently sets the book down. "And even if I did, what would prevent me from simply taking the book? Not exactly a reportable crime considering the contents of the book and the situation." ![]()
Male Strix Magus (Bladebound) 9
![]() I don't even know what I don't know. Although I suspect he poisoned me when he shoved me. Rolls: 1d20 ⇒ 121d20 ⇒ 111d20 ⇒ 1 I think the dice gods are unhappy because it's not open combat. Talon growls, getting up on his own. "You've got about two seconds to start talking, I'm tired of this run around b*&*&$#+." ![]()
Male Strix Magus (Bladebound) 9
![]() Int: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 Time to take the BSF approach. Talon looks the man up and down, eyebrow arced. "Is that so?" Sense Motive: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12 "Seems like a good idea than." The man seems trustworthy, but all the same Talon suspects an ambush. He makes sure to keep his senses sharp and his hand on Rygat. ![]()
Male Strix Magus (Bladebound) 9
![]() Great. Silver dragon. Talon (in disguise as a tall white haired elf) asks around about the dragon, including questions like the dragon's strength, age, and where he could speak to it. I don't know what rolls would be associated with that. Maybe a gather info and knowledge check? |
