This is in regards to Heroes for Heroes, a charity convention coming up December 6-7th right outside of Knoxville. The cost is nominal, only $5 per day, and 100% of all funds raised goes directly to the Blount County Memorial Post 5154 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. I would like to be the first to congratulate our own Purple Fluffy CatBunnyGnome, or henceforth, Thea Peters, in becoming Venture Lieutenant for Murfreesboro, TN. I know this announcement will please those of us who, like myself, found her presence to be an intelligent and moderating presence on the boards. I know that she will do just as much for the Tennessee community as she has for the PFS community at large.

Thanks,

Nick Greene

Please join me in welcoming Felix Adam as the new Venture Lieutenant for Knoxville, Tennessee. Felix has been instrumental in helping ensure games get run in the Knoxville area, and at the end of the day, that's what we're all about.

Congratulations, Felix!

This order still shows as pending under my order history. Everything involved has been paid for, shipped, and received. I figure it's just a hiccup in the system, and it's not bothering me, but I thought I'd mention it in case it was important for you guys to fix it/ keep track of it for inventory/shipping purposes.

As always, thanks for all the hard work.

Sorry to complain, but I got my shipping notice for my January items, and I still haven't gotten a shipping email regarding my subscription copy of wardens of the reborn forge. I'm planning to run it in a couple of weeks, and I'd like to have the hard copy in hand.

Could you please check the status?

Thanks.

So I'm a brand new GM for PFS and I'm trying to get everything right, but, as I'm sure you understand, it's a lot to take in. I was running a group through First Steps I: In Service To Lore, and one member of the party wanted to take 20 to search the warehouse for valuables while the rest were working on securing the crate. I was unsure how to handle it. On the one hand, I get that you can take 20' and I get that it takes 20 rounds or 10 rounds depending on what you're doing, but how does it work when it involves opening up bags and chests and crates? I was inclined to give them a take 20 on each specific area rather than the whole warehouse, but I didn't even know what to tell them they found.

So I start making stuff up. "You find a case of 10 dog slicers and three 75 lb sacks of rice." The players kept asking what else they found. "Uh, you found a dozen empty coffins and four pounds of nails." I finally had to tell them that it was getting dark and they needed to report back to the VC. But I'm sure this technique will come up again. How do I handle them taking 20 in a large, poorly defined area such as a warehouse? Doth elegy to just know all the possible loot in the warehouse after a 2 minute search?

Any responses appreciated. Remember, BRAND new GM so be gentle if I'm being dumb.

Thanks

Nick

My wife and i are relatively new to PFS and we are woefully behind on the overall storyline. How would someone recommend that we catch up on the meta plots taking place? I'm constantly seeing references to things I don't understand. To be clear, I'm not looking for specific adventure spoilers, just the stuff that my character should know as a member of the Pathfinder Society.

Thanks in advance,

Hi,

I'm sorry to bother you guys with this, I'm just getting a little concerned. I placed an order for the Serpent's Skull adventure path bundle on November the 9th as well as for the Dungeon Poster Map: Sleeping Dragon Inn. I received the poster map a couple of weeks ago with an extra copy (which I had assumed I accidentally double ordered, but at $0.50, I wasn't worried about), but the adventure path was not included. I'm not sure of the reason for shipping them separately, and I thought I would double check to make sure nothing had gone terribly wrong. It's been a little over three weeks, and I haven't gotten a shipping notice for the AP.

I realize you guys are swamped with the awesome success of the Great Golem Sale, and please don't take this as a complaint on your excellent reputation for customer service. I am in no way dissatisfied. I just wanted to double check.

Thank you for your time,

Nick

So my PCs have explored under the tower and have been given the task to drive the kobolds out of the flooded quarry. They have decided the kobolds caused the tower to collapse by accident because their habitat has been flooded out,(they missed every opportunity to figure out what was really going on) and they want to propose to the kobolds that they should drain Dragonfen by draining the swamp into the Verduran Fork by digging about a thousand feet of canal, crossing the Verduran Highway...Clearly this is a huge engineering feat, but the way I read the module, the Abadar faction would be in favor of such a solution, especially if it got the kobolds further away from town. I have a few questions and could use some advice. How would this play out? How long would such a canal take to dig? Could the kobold tribe handle it? And would it even work?
I would appreciate getting someone else's take on it. It's definitely an interesting idea and I certainly don't want to discourage that kind of thinking, but it's caused me a headache trying to figure the ramifications...
Thanks in advance,
Talgeron

I've been an Adventure Path subscriber for a few months, and I've recently added the player companion subscription, the module subscription, and the campaign setting subscription. My question is that in older posts I've seen references to combining shipping as an option on multiple subscriptions, but I can't seem to find that option. Will these items automatically ship together or will they be shipped as they are released, even if released in the same month?
Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this

So I'm not sure if anyone would be interested in reading this, but the other people in my gaming group have enjoyed my journal entries. I was curious to see how they are received by the populace at large.
Set-up: The character, Jon Crowly, is a half-elf ranger, CN, skirmisher arch-type. Most of the back story I'm attempting to flesh out in the journal entries.
Obviously it'll make more sense if you've played in or run the RotRL adventure path, but I'm trying to keep it entertaining regardless.
A great deal of the things that are not actually combat are pure inventions to add depth to the character. Any comments gratefully appreciated, but try not to be too mean.

Starday, Rova 1, 4707-
Escorted a caravan from Nybor to Sandpoint. The caravan was late arriving, so no bonuses. Won a little dicing with the other guards, though. Unfortunately, I arrived in the middle of the Swallowtail Festival. Ended up trapped here for a few days. Won a meat pie at an archery competition, and a goblin doll at what's called "goblin tossing." Unfortunately, no actual goblins were harmed during the event. I think the lizard races are rigged. Goblins attacked the town, and me without sword or bow. Barely survived. I will not be found without my bow again. Just reinforces my belief that no one is safe, ever. I will not be found without my bow again.
Met some new people. Nigella is a drunken magus of some kind. The dwarven cleric is a different sort of animal altogether. He is consumed by his god. I take him for a humorless sort. I'm pretty sure the gnome, Ayda, is touched. She seems to make hasty, irrational decisions. She will not survive long at that rate. Then again, how long will any of us survive?
They seem to be solid companions. I've soldiered beside worse. We rescued a noble named Foxblood, or something. He invited us boar hunting. Perhaps it was boor hunting. If that is the case, I found one immediately.
Sunday, Rova 2, 4707-
The sheriff asked us to look into a disturbance in the local cemetery. The town seems to have the idea that we are a group now. I suppose it will do until I can make my way out of here. The dwarf offered me 40g to go along. I was stunned, but of course I accepted.
I found goblin tracks, along with the bootprints of a single person, presumably a human, leading up to the tomb of Ezakien Tobyn, the former priest of Sandpoint. Someone seems to have stolen his body. If it were only goblin tracks I would put it down to sheer goblin madness, but the other tracks are disturbing. A pair of skeletons attacked us in the mausoleum. These others aren't half bad at defending themselves.
Moonday, Rova 3, 4707-
Foxlug made good on a reward this evening. I've never had so much gold. Adventuring for hire is more profitable than I realized. The boar hunt is tomorrow.
Toilday, Rova 4, 4707-
After a rough start, I managed to finish off a boar. It's been a long time since I hunted for any purpose other than survival, and I must admit, it was a welcome change. Aldern Foxglove, the noble, provided each of us with a mount. My horse, a dusky grey mare I have named Starlight, is a fine beast. As my status in the world is growing by leaps and bounds, I have decided to stay in Sandpoint at the sheriff's request. Starlight is stabled at the Goblin Squash Stables. This town has an unhealthy obsession with goblins, I'm learning.
Wealday, Rova 5, 4707-
Sheriff Hemlock is headed to Magnimar to bring reinforcements to prevent further goblin activities. I wish him well, but with the five tribes ganging up, I don't see how a larger city watch will do much more than give the goblins more targets if they attack in force.
I met an interesting lady named Shalelu. She seemed capable enough, but I sensed her contempt at my half-breed status. She certainly has the arrogance of the elves. Let us hope she has the ability to back it up.
Oathday, Rova 6, 4707-
Heard a rumor today about Nigella and the shop keeper's daughter. Falling in with these companions has been more entertaining than I thought possible. It makes me wonder if I was wrong to isolate myself for so many years. Then again, I haven't been betrayed yet, either. At any rate, apparently I am no longer welcome in the Sandpoint general store.
Fireday, Rova 7, 4707-
We've been staying free of charge at the Rusty Dragon, an older inn not far from Lost Coast Road, owned and operated by Ameiko. The food is fair, and I've found no fleas.
Starday, Rova 8, 4707-
Spent the afternoon dicing at the Hagfish. The place gets its name from a fish, Norah, in a less-than-pristine tank behind the bar.. Anyone who can drink a tankard of the slimy, disgusting water from the tank wins a pouch of silver. Jargie, the owner of the Hagfish, said only twenty-eight have successfully kept down the water.
I have no interest in trying this contest, but I do think I should mention this to the others. My initial impulse was to recommend the dwarf try it, but he seems to be somewhat of a delicate little flower when it comes to drinking. Nigella might be a better bet. I've seen her drink sour wine by the skin without so much as making a face.
Sunday, Rova 9, 4707-
For a small town, there are surprisingly many places to get an ale. Last night, I heard about a fight at the Fatman's Feedbag. Apparently someone got tossed through a window. I haven't seen Ayda yet this morning, so I'm starting to wonder if she was involved.
Ayda is odd, even for a gnome. She's chatty, impulsive, and good-natured. Essentially she's everything I hate in a person. She came to Sandpoint to be an actress. I told her to act as though I gave a goblin's fart what she wanted to be when she grew up.

Hi,

My wife and I played D&D about ten years ago, but fell out of the habit. Now we're having trouble finding a group to play pathfinder with. We're new to the game, and would like to find someone interested in running or at least joining a group. We have no idea how to hook up with local gamers. I have one friend who'd be interested in playing, but we're all out of practice. Anyone in the Maryville/Knoxville area interested in joining a group or at least giving us advice on how to find a group? We can host.
Thanks,
Nick

Btw, feel free to email us at mizkittie318@yahoo.com. Just put Pathfinder in the subject so we know it's not spam. Thanks again.
