Im in the exact same situation (1 player, 1 gm and my player prefers a streamlined plot) I wanted to run kingmaker but shes not as fussed on playing it. We're going to try rise of the runelords. See how it goes. But one worth trying might be skull and shackles. Plenty of crew to fill missing party abilities.

My favourite cinematic scenes have to be the naval battles in pirates of the Caribbean, the whirlpool fight and when the pearl and dutchman team up on the endeavour. Great for a skull and shackles style campaign

After reading Ultimate Campaign and playing with the rules, my players and I love this type of campaign (Civilization based with development and large scale wars) however, in the two campaigns we've played, we've never had a kingdom larger than 40. In the rules the Ruler gets a bonus if their kingdom size is larger than 101. Just wondering if anyone has reached this amount and what experiences they've had with it. (difficulty to build the world or run it, rewarding to run ? etc)

I originally played Runequest/Legend so I understand the concept of Roleplaying and the basic rules, but after hearing about the upcoming "ultimate campaign" I decided to convert to Pathfinder.

I usually play DM and I want to run the kingmaker campaign, not sure if this is jumping in the deep end but it's the kingdom rules that sold me on pathfinder in the first place. However I am finding the rulebook a bit daunting in comparison to what i'm used to with RQ/Legend.

A few hints and tips or Do's/Don't's would be greatly appreciated. Or anything for Kingmaker I may miss.

Thanks
