I think my bigger problem is thinking up a story for such an odd crew

I'm still around, but it seems like interest has dwindled.

Woops, might be mine? I'm a little confused about the turn order.

"Just go away!" Sykk squeaks from in mid air, as he casts another Jolt at the un-entangled archer.

Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
Confirm Crit: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
Electricity Damage: 1d3 ⇒ 3 -> 6 if crit

I should tell people to go away more often!

Once he freed his pixie friends, Sykk jumps into the air and casting Jolt, the electricity crackling towards the nearest bandit.

Touch Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
Electrical Damage: 1d3 ⇒ 2

Dex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20

Sykk attempts to free the captured fey from the human's nets, trying to drag it off of them, or bite through the string with small fangs.

Have I gotten to where the other fey have been caught in the net, and can I try to free them?

While the humans are distracted by Hrrm and Caireann, Sykk tries to sneak to the net and free his friends.

Stealth, bonus from being in forest: 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (13) + 24 = 37

Oh I mean I've been done, I didn't know when Goldmyr got back from Florida

"Good idea!" Sykk looks expectantly towards the group of humans. He then makes a little frown and continues, "Though I guess that probably has to wait until after we fix the blight.

"The creatures seemed resistant to electricity magic if that helps at all. In fact they didn't seem phased by weapons either, but that potion stopped them in their tracks!"

Sorry I have been very distracted with the end of my school year, beginning of my internship, and having to reinstall two computer's operating systems. I should be able to post more frequently once it calms down a little.

Rikket is my goat familiar...

Sorry, right. Before this campaign started, my character had a nearly identical name.

"So Rhune was attacked by the monsters? Were you there during these attacks, have you fought them before?"
He remembers his manners and adds after a pause, "My name is Sykk, nice to meet you Commander."

Lol High feather you keep using my character's old name from before the campaign when I changed it because I didn't like how it sounded.

"Do you think that the humans are trustworthy enough for this job?"

Sykk settles his spellbook on top of a dry spot of grass, and lays down atop it, waiting to hear Dion's announcement.

"The master plant?"

Sykk flies to Hrrm and casts Protection from Evil on him.
+2 AC and Saves (plus other effects) if the monsters count as evil.

Because I was silly with my spell choices, I don't have any damaging spells against plants and my natural poison probably won't effect them.

"I should hide too. If something goes wrong, maybe I can help scare them off with illusions!"

Stealth: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (8) + 20 = 28

Yeah i just dont know if we should go all guns a blazing and would like a better description

"Wait, before you rush off! Was it more of the mushroom creatures, or something else?" Sykk asks as Caireann starts to turn around.

If it's like the invisibility spell, which it probably is, then I'd imagine you treat your HD as caster level, and it's broken upon attacking.

"Good plan! If Caireann sees more of those creatures, she can tell us and we'll plan the best route of attack!" Sykk replies, hovering above Hrrm.

Sykk lands on the ground near Ludvig and carefully puts the stopper back into the vial.

"It worked wonderfully! I wish I knew what it was made of - we should save it in case there are even more dangerous creatures in the Blight"

How many vials did we get, and how much have I used from my vial?

"Next time we'll be prepared for battle, I'll make sure you and Hrrm are better armored with a spell or two," Sykk says, shuffling through some scrolls in his backpack.

Seeing the potion's great effect, Sykk flies over to the remaining mushroom creature and drops a few more drops down on it.

Ranged Touch Attack (Not Proficient): 1d20 + 8 - 4 ⇒ (16) + 8 - 4 = 20

Seeing that everyone's attacks were mostly ineffective, and the creatures being completely immune to his electricity based spells, Sykk flies up above one the creature attacking Hrrm.

He uncorks his vial, and attempts to let a few drops fall onto the creature.
Ranged Touch Attack with nonproficiency penalty: 1d20 + 8 - 4 ⇒ (13) + 8 - 4 = 17

Brawlhalla is on steam yes. It's in beta right now, I got a beta version (that will run out one day) for free at a convention. $12 gets you the game permanently plus some in game currency for skin changes.

I really like the controls for PC, and it also supports XBox controllers. I actually like keyboard controls more than controller, but probably just because I am more used to keyboard than controller gameplay.

I'm very into Guild Wars 2, and lots of little indie local co op games.
I've been paying a lot of a game called Brawlhalla, which is a brawler like Smash Bros, but for the PC and I think much easier for new players to get into. It's very fun, and also has online multiplayer support.

Sykk jumps back from the creature and hovers a few feet above the ground.
Muttering incantations and forming gestures, sparks start forming and swirling around his claws, and he shoots a jolt of electricity at the mushroom creature that attacked Ludvig.

Casting Jolt as a Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Damage if success: 1d3 ⇒ 2

All fear my massive damage.

"Ack!" Sykk squeaks as he twists to catch the falling vial. He delicately snaps it out of the air in his mouth before falling backward, unbalaned by his makeshift backpack and its heavy contents.

Sykk throws Caireann a glare from his spot on the ground, and with his mouth full grumbles to himself.

He shifts back up and opens the vial to let a few drops of the liquid fall to the strange mold.

Sykk lands near the edge of the mold with Caireann, and looks around to find a stick to poke the mold with. He gives to mold a few good taps before looking up deeper into the mushroom forested blight.

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20

"Caireann, may I see one of the vials? We should test a few drops to see how effective it is while we have time."

I already like the fact that Hrrm is just going to be cursed with a bunch of tiny people arguing while flying around his head, hahah.

Woops, I meant to whichever pixie of the group had been telling us what happened. The board won't let me edit my post. Sorry about that.

"Slow down Caireann, you can't go rushing into things like this again," Sykk chirps back to her as he gathers his few possessions.
He turns to Arianne and asks, "Can you tell us a little more about these monsters you saw?"
I would very much like to study them... he thought as he ran a claw along his old spellbook.

Yes cr 2 have no class levels, cr 1 have 1 level and 1/2 has 2

I do have a question - what starting wealth do we use? Should be go by wealth by level for our classes levels (like I have 1 wizard level, so 70g), or by total hit die (I have 1 wizard and 2 racial, so 3kg to start)

Or rather, since Highfeather is a witch, both being perched on his goat familiar hahaha

Yeah one other person did an awakened animal.

Roll 3d6 on this board, that is your intelligence. Roll 1d3, and add it to charisma. You also get 2 more HD. Then do all of your point buy stuff with that.
Unfortunately, cha will still be not amazing, I couldn't find any low cr bird creatures with above 7 charisma. But you can still work with that.

I think awakened animals gain +1 CR (they did in 3.5 at least) mostly because of the HD, so you might only get 1 level of bard.

What class are you choosing for ludvig on level ups?

I'll probably grab craft wondrous two levels in to the game

I guess?
Awakened animals don't get any nice powers or abilities, so I guess him having more feats is the bonus.

Feats are generally by HD, so she'd most likely get 1 feat from her grig HD. You could change that feat to whatever you want I think, that's just the default because the average grig has that. You would not get another feat for your rogue level, but next time you level up (your third HD) you will get a feat to spend.

Slight modifications to my character sheet, located on this alias's profile.
I'm going to take the Archetype 'Spell Sage'. At level 2 I'll be able to cast spells of any spell list for 2 spell slots of equal tier and a long casting time.
Pros/Cons is that I'll have crazy out of combat utility and when we have extra time, but less great at combat and long days. But I really like the theme of it, I think it fits with my character really well.

Both of those are really cool ideas stormcrow, and if we were both in the game I'd be so up for the second one. It could be like Libram used up its power to create and maintain Stormbringer as a protector for itself, and as Sykk unlocks more of the mysteries of the spellbook (leveling up) it is able to commit more power to Stormbringer (leveling up also).
If Stormbringer is ever destroyed, we can essentially say that Sykk or someone else does the magical research needed to reconstruct it (pay the same amount of gold it would cost a normal character to be resurrected)

Haha everyone's choosing tiny races except for Hrrm. Size bonuses to stealth to out the wazoo haha

Sykk the pseudodragon
----------
Sykk has lived in the forest his whole life, about 14 years. He lived day to day in the forest exploring and helping Dion with whatever was needed. One day a caravan of traders passed close by the forest, and Sykk could not help but watch the curious creatures in their wheeled boxes. He noticed once they had passed that a book had been left behind accidentally.
He investigated the book, and discovered it had strange runes and glyphs inside, and over several years managed to decipher some of it and begin his study as a wizard. Also inside the spellbook was an old ring, which Sykk now wears on one of his horns.
Sykk now spends most of his days poring over the spellbook, trying to learn more of its mysteries. As the book is nearly as large as himself, Sykk carries it around as a sort of backpack with several other supplies for his studies, and is intensely protective of it.
----------

Mechanically: Illusion favored school wizard 1, opposed evocation and necromancy. Arcane bond with a ring.
If added to the campaign, I'd probably end up investing in some item creation feats so that our odd little group can have the magical items they will most definitely not find pre-made for them.
